Question:	Have shady yard in ne ga mountains town of sautee. Will this grass work
Answer:	In central Wisconsin we planted this in a very shady area where we had mostly moss growing because the grass just could not grow there. It has done very well and filled in everywhere except an area of about a five foot radius directly beneath a large sugar maple tree. The patch there is probably due also to the nutrients and water being consumed by the tree. We were prepared for failure with this but were pleasantly surprised by how well it filled in. We have very extreme temperatures and this has not been a problem. It is also an attractive grass (blade thickness) and germinated well, grew quickly with adequate watering. Took a second summer to fill in to a dense cover after planting in late summer.

I planted it again in November, again it came up very well, and it looks pretty good now. I'm hoping it will live through March when I sell my house. I know it will not survive the summer heat here in Florida. It is not a southern grass. I have no complaints about the seed. It's just not suited for the deep south.

Answer:	ＷwR, it will take up to 21 days for all the grass seeds in the Scotts EZ Seed Patch and Repair Sun and Shade to germinate.

Answer:	What Zone you are in. If you are in the North, probably not but better wait till late Winter or early Spring. However I had bad experience with Scott on this Bermuda Seed package. If you read carefully, the 10 lb package actually has less than one lb of seeds. Small percentage is fertilizer. 99% are mulch which you can purchase it much less price. It also depends how many sq. ft to plan to cover. This 10 lbs package covers less than 200 sq.ft. It also stated gauantee to germinate in any temperature, even exreme heat, it did not happened that way.
Question:	Does this grass reproduce or spread
Answer:	No, Tall fescue is a "bunch grass" and does not spread. Over the years a healthy "bunch" will get a bit bigger to help fill in, but not really spread

Prep

Prepare the area you want to grow grass by removing dead grass and loosening hard soil to help tiny seedlings root.

Apply

Evenly apply EZ Seed so the area is mostly covered, but bare ground is still visible, so that seed can reach the soil. The mulch will expand 4x upon watering to help cover the seed and keep it moist (use half as much for thin areas). Only apply the recommended amount so that seedlings have enough space to access water and nutrients. The seed germinates best when daytime temperatures are between 60°F and 80°F.

Water

A deep and thorough watering is the key to success. Gently water the area until EZ Seed is completely saturated and no more water is being absorbed (this may take several minutes). Answer:	Complete failure. Nothing grew out of this bag.

Answer:	Put down in bare, shady area with no straw, watered daily, the grass began to come up sporadically in 14-18 days. Put down in the same conditions with straw put down over it, watered daily, grass began to come up well within a few days. No fertilizer. 2 months later, grass still looks great.

Answer:	No. You should only use starter seed fertilizer with new grass seed.
Question:	is this seed for fall in new jersey
Answer:	Yes, this is a good seed, but it takes work. I used Scott’s thicker lawn and added a ton of seed to it. The soil conditioners in it plus more seed, plus dethatching/ roughing up soil and covering with weed free straw on bare areas yielded very good results. With that being said, perrenial rye dies off in summer, and I used for bare areas, and bare again. But I have a 80lb dog that is a force to contend with. I try to add a lot of Kentucky Blue in the fall, as its the best time to grow, and spreads, but seems more susceptible to disease. I am in Monmouth County, NJ, and we had a lot of rain this year, and last fall..fall was great to grow grass, as was the mild tempuratures thru November. I had problems with moss and fungus due to so much rain this spring/summer. I dumped a ton of pertenial rye for erosion control, and it grew far taller than creeping fescues and Kentucky Blue on a weekly basis, then died. I have determined growing grass is a losing battle as every weed seems to thrive and grass dies. I am ready to hardscape front lawn and put artificial turf in backyard and give up. If neighbors have weeds, and/or unkept sidewalk strips of grass turn to weed, it is a yearly event, and after 7 years of regrowing lawn to watch die and become full of weeds...I am certain that grass seed/ maintenance is as painful as buying $60 ink cartridges for a $150 printer, endless expense. Printer just costs money, grass requires hard labor tons of chemicals, and expensive lawn service, none that works with keeping my dog healthy. So, I am killing off grass with lymphoma causing round-up and throwing in the towel and hope that no grass = next year only killing weeds in shrub beds. Artificial turf hopefully with hose and cleaner will be conducive to dog’s bathroom and since my front lawn slopes, I am taking advantage of it and building retaining walls with shrub beds, and then on perimeter adding mulch beds with Skip Laurels and a few more trees and bingo, good-bye grass seed, fertilizers, weed killers, lime, etc. I have had sod installed three times in 7 years, and overseed, etc.. I hate lawns now, I yanked out a lot if lawn and replaced with river rock, looks pretty but trees like mulch better, so rock in backyard so my dog is not running through daily and mulch and will weed front, the weeds are much more hearty than the barriers put down to prevent them. But yes this is a fall or spring season grass. I do not blame seed, I blame the soil, prep work, maintenance, mother nature (insects/weather) and surrounding weeds spreading like a herpes virus for grass failure. Hope you have better luck than me!

Answer:	I would check he expiration date on the package. If it's "good" until the spring of 2023, I'm certain that it's OK to purchase it now.....especially if it's on sale. Answer:	I'm positive that you can plant the seeds now. Colder weather will only slow the germination process. It may take a few more days before you see the seedlings. By the way, the product is excellent. I used it to repair my grass because of major new landscaping. It turned out beautifully, completely covering the planted area. Once fully grown, it blended perfectly with the "old" grass.

Answer:	I planted some around fringe of big tree which got 3 or 4 hours of our Okla hot sun and it survived. In Florida with your humidity and milder temperatures it should do ok if it gets watered and has good root system. Let top dry out two or three days to force roots to go deeper.

Answer:	Yes it is perennial grass that will grow with less sun than K 31 fescue but not quite as durable and drouth resistant. I use it for designed purpose. More dense shade.
