There is a scooper and the seeds are very fine, so if there were a rock or twig, I think it would be very noticeable and easy to avoid. I would definitely recommend trying these seeds. Answer:	They will sprout (some of them anyway), but they didn't work for spouting for me because only about half of them sprouted, and the other half sat there a rotted, and there's no real way to cull those out of there. I was looking for hulled seeds for spouting, and the ones i found were very expensive (twice the price for half as much), but if all the seeds are going to sprout, it might be worth it.

Answer:	As of September 2018, the feeders Amazon sends have a redesigned base. The bottom is no longer just cast metal. It is now plastic and cast metal. Also, if you use the threaded part of the bottom, to attach to a pole or for a tray, it is now just a single thread, not threaded several turns. It does not hold well. I do not like the redesigned base at all.

Answer:	Yes .. But it does not go down stairs as it is too short.... It also got tangled constantly. I finally found an old long slinky on eBay that went down stairs like my daughter wanted. We have a black light, it seems to glow best that way if my memory serves. My daughter loved it. It drove me crazy. Lol. I think I spent a hour on Xmas untangling the thing. But she was only 4 and the issues were due to her not using it correctly. We also have very tall, odd wood stairs. For the price, if the glow feature is what you're after, it worked ok.

Answer:	Yes it's compostable. Even meats are compostable but you don't want to put meat in your compost if you plan on using the dirt for growing food. Only use compost that has meat in it with regular plants, not edible ones.

About 12 grams of sunflower seeds for planting with an 85% germination rate. Product of USA. Sunflowers grow best in locations with full sun. They are remarkably tough and will grow in any kind of soil as long as it is not waterlogged. They do fine in soils that are slightly acidic to somewhat alkaline (pH 6.0 to 7.5). Once sunflowers get started, they can tolerate drought as befits plants whose ancestors grew happily in dry prairie regions. Although sunflowers can be started indoors in individual peat pots, it is easiest to sow seeds directly into the soil after all danger of spring frost is past. However, where the growing season is short, sunflowers can be safely planted up to 2 weeks before the last expected spring frost. Sunflowers can take a chill or two. Where growing seasons are long, it is best to wait until the soil temperature reaches 55 degrees to 60 degrees F. To plant sunflowers: Space seeds about 6 inches apart in a shallow trench between 1 and 2 inches deep. In sandy soil, 2 inches deep is better. Cover and keep watered until seeds sprout in 7 to 10 days. When first true leaves appear (the second set of leaves); thin plants to about 2 feet apart. Depending on the variety, sunflowers will mature and develop seeds in 80 to 120 days. Sow a new row every 2 to 3 weeks to enjoy continuous blooms until the first frost.

Answer:	I believe 50, I misplaced the rest at the moment. I had great success in that only one seed did not germinate.

Answer:	As far as I know, they are annuals, not perennials. That said, the flowers will have seeds, which could be saved and planted next spring.

Answer:	I'm sorry to say not one seed germinated! Absolutely no flowers. I've grown sunflowers all my life, but nothing from this product. Will never buy from this company again.

Answer:	Hello I am a backyard birder and would go thru one bag every 2 weeks. I believe that they put expiration dates on their products. I have been purchasing these Sunflower seed from Amazon and they have always been fresh. They always have an expiration date on their bags. I purchase other seeds from this manufacturer. I order the Nyjer seeds from them and currently have a bag with an expiration date of 9/20/19. Seeds should always be kept in cool places. I have approximately 53 goldfinches, a lot of morning doves, Baltimotr Orioles hummingbirds etc. I have never had any problems with any seeds I purchased from this manufacturer
Question:	Could I fit the larger seeds through a jar opening that is 1/2 inch
Answer:	The only answer that makes sense to me is this: The shipping weight is in metric units where a metric pound is 500 grams. The "Wagner" weight is in imperial units. where an imperial pound is approx. 450 grams. So a metric shipping weight of 18 pounds (where a pound is 500 grams) is the equivalent of approx. 20 lbs in imperial units (where a pound is approx. 450 grams. Thus the metric shipping weight can be less than the imperial "Wagner" weight.
Question:	Does "Intended for the current and the following growing season." mean
Answer:	Don't know why it's now more per-pound in the larger bag. Doesn't make sense. When I bought it, the 40-pound bag cost less than it does now, maybe around $35 (don't remember the exact price). It's sounds like either Wagner's thinks consumers are dumb or that the company has just mispriced it. If the pricing continues as is, I'd just buy two 25-pound bags. That's a dollar a pound, instead of $1.125 a pound, and the 25-pound bags are easier to handle, too. Assuming you have Prime, shipping is free. I'd also check the price at your local Lowe's, Home Depot or similar -- sometimes they have better deals than Amazon.
