If you are ever going to do more or want a precise scientific way to know that buying a light meter (around $20.00) will let you know the lumens in each section of your growth area at the top of the growth area - thats helps adjust your lights for spacing or lets you know that if your plants are in pots which ones to rotate to a level with higher lumens periodically. Be sure if you buy a meter you get one thar reads lumens - the concentration of light as it hits a space. It's working fine- no bulging or leaking etc. The original ones that first came out I'd drain all the water out, store them in a paper bag per their instructions and made sure they sat their undisturbed until spring. I'd carefully hook them back up and within a day or week they'd get a big bubble that would pop or just leak from several different spots. I'm hoping this one lasts all summer.

Answer:	Made of brass and clamp is made of painted aluminum. Looking at it from what was delivered it does look heavy duty but time will tell.If a car runs over it it surely will break but normal use should be fine.

Answer:	The photo showing a grouping of five completed fittings is accurate, in that you will receive enough items to replace both male and female ends on two hoses, and you will be able to splice together two hoses (to make one longer hose, or to cut out a segment of a damaged hose and then splice it back together). However, at the same time, unless you are familiar with the different parts, the photo/description is somewhat unclear. To be completely accurate/specific, I received, not counting the zip ties that held together each completed fitting, the following items and quantities: 2 rubber gaskets (for female ends), 2 female sleeves and hose inserts (together making 2 completed female fittings — they are separate, free-twisting pieces, which allows the female fitting to screw on to a male fitting without twisting the hose), 2 male fittings, 1 splice fitting (for joining two raw hose ends), 2 heavy duty, solid metal, clam shell style compression hose clamps (the gray ones with two screws showing on each — these are used in conjunction with two of the above listed fittings, as shown in the photo, but technically speaking, they are separate from them), and 4 hose clamps (traditional, screw and band). So, I replaced both ends of a 100 ft. hose, using one male fitting, one female fitting and gasket, and the two heavy duty, clam shell compression hose clamps. I have enough fittings left over to replace both ends on another hose and to perform one splice. However, these repairs would require me to use the provided traditional screw & band hose clamps, which I don't like that much because they tend to rust and they have sharp edges that can snag on body parts and clothing. Nonetheless, at least I have the option to use them, should the need arise. As a side note, it is a little bit tricky to insert the fittings into a stiff or cold hose. You might want to warm up (not melt) the hose to make it a bit more compliant. Also, before you insert the female fitting, make sure that you have remembered to put on the female sleeve first — you will need to insert the female insert and female sleeve together; you can't slide the sleeve down the hose to get it out of the way because it won't slide back all the way to the female end because the female fitting expands the diameter of the hose and the sleeve will not fit over it. If you make a mistake, you can just cut off the mistake and slice off the 1 1/2 inch portion of the hose that is surrounding the fitting. Your hose will be a little shorter, but in some cases, it is easier than trying to pull out the fitting — they were pretty tight on my hose. All in all, I am fairly pleased with this product. I think it is a pretty good value for the price.
