Answer:	18 watts, less than 18 inches long. Can't dig it out to measure, despite its limits it is at work (sort of). It is flexible enough to wrap around a 10-quart bucket.

Question:	Would this mat work as a root warmer for plants(roots) that need heat after transplanting
Answer:	It does. Although we had better consistent heat with seed trays we also used the mats for transplants in 72 cell flats placed in tray. The heat is certainly less in the out laying cells when compared to the center. Soil blocks might work the best so as to limit air spaces between the cells.
Question:	How well would it work to keep a gallon size jar of tea between 75-85 degress in a house that is in the mid 60s throughout the winter
Answer:	It would likely work. I have one wrapped around a Norther Brewer 2-gallon glass kombucha vessel. My ambient temp is about 72 degrees. The heater easily takes the vessel up to 80 degrees. In fact, I have it attached to a digital thermostat controller because it would easily exceed 80 degrees if I left it on all the time. With a 1-gallon container, I think you could reasonably expect 15 to 20 degrees above ambient temps.

Question:	Can I use this product for a dog heat mats (Kane poly heat mat)? Thanks
Answer:	I'm sure you can. I use mine for snake heat mats. Just make sure you put the probe in a place where the dog cant move it. I drilled a hole in the bottom of the enclosure and placed the probe inside, with the heat mat under the cage. The probe reads the surface temperature of the cage floor and not of the heat element. I have 3 of these thermostats and they all work really well for animal heating. They are often a few (+-4) degrees off though.
Question:	How many watts can this handle
Answer:	Manual states: "Do not exceed a total of 1000 watts of heating devices plugged into thermostat."
Question:	I lost my instructions and cannot figure out how to change the thermostat. I have emailed Hydrofarm and had no response. Can someone help me
Answer:	Press and hold down the SET button for at least 3 to 6 seconds. The display will start to blink. Press the up and down buttons to increase or decrease the desired temperature. When you are through selecting the temperature, press and hold down the SET button for at least 2 seconds. I say 3 to 6 seconds because I count manually and I'm sure I am off a second or two. Hope this helps.
Question:	Can I plug 3 heating mats into a power strip and plug the power strip into the Digital Thermostat's AC output
Answer:	I currently have 2 heat mats plugged into a strip that in turn plugs into the Digital Thermostat. Been using this setup for 2 years, with no issues. I love it and believe that it would easily support 3 mats. Keep in mind that my mats and tray are all identical, since there is only 1 prob for the monitor.

Answer:	NOT worth the money (over $36). Cheap and flimsy plastic is what you have here as well. Question:	Does anyone know - What average temp does the mat hold
Answer:	The mat temperature varies based on what substrate you are using. I use organic top soil and my soil thermometer is on average 88F. However different substrates like moss would hold a higher temperature, typically 92 or more
Question:	Do you need to get a seperate light for the system to work? I do not get much light in my apartment and that is my biggest concern
Answer:	Yes, you need to get a, "High Output T-5," grow light system. You may, also think about a heating pad, if you are starting your plants in the early Spring when it is still cool out doors. I hope you don't plan on growing your plants completely inside your apartment, because I am not sure long term use of the system will work. Mostly, the system is for starting plant and moving them outdoors.
Question:	Costly electricity bill for heated mat
Answer:	Following @choppinghoe 's format: I bought this power meter testing thinger and when I plugged the mat into it the meter read that it was drawing 45 watts pretty consistently. So my math would be: 45 watts x 24 hours x 365 days per year = 394200 watt-hours. Dividing by 1000 to get kilowatt hours (which is what you are charged based on, I think - I have never paid a utility bill yet) gives me 394.2 kWh. (Assuming $0.10 per kWh) Then 394.2 kWh x 0.10 = 39.42. So that's your yearly cost to run this pad full time.

Answer:	I originally got the 4 outlet one and it's pretty quiet, I use 3/4 of the outlets. It's pretty quiet and nice control over general flow of air. Liked it so much I got the 8 outlet one but only a day after setting it up the noise is bothering me. The noise is from inside and not so much the unused outlets, I'm using 4-5 currently but got the extra outlets for later use. I am really sensitive to vibrations and the 8 outlet one is making me feel sick in the same room, even with it set on a thick towel. I wish it was nearly as quiet as the 4 one...

Answer:	No not at all. Make sure you get a semi wide tubing. Also use both outputs other wise its loud.....but other than that its amazing

Answer:	You would connect both sides to a T connector (2 into 1) and run it that way. You cannot just use one side.

Answer:	18" X 10" X 4" (bulb hangs about 3" below level of reflector, and there is a half inch lip for hanging hardware that actually makes it 4.5").
Question:	what cfl do you recommend for flowering
Answer:	You MUST use a bulb with a lot of red in it. If you use cfl's, stick with warm white (sometimes called soft white). The important thing to look at is the color temperature. For flowering you want a 2700K bulb. No higher than 3000K. Avoid middle of the road spectrums altogether. Anything with "daylight" on it probably won't work for flowering OR vegging. Just remember that vegging is blue (5500K or higher) and flowering is red (3000K or lower).
Question:	Does it take Metal Halide bulbs
Answer:	you need a ballast so absolutely not a metal halide bulb has the same mogul bas as the fluorescent so it would fit in this fixture but do not do it, it will not work once again metal halides and sodiums need a ballast and this does not have one
Question:	will this make my plants bud
Answer:	Twelve continuous hours of dark in every 24 hour cycle is what will make your plants bud. They will flower under this bulb, but it's more geared towards vegging. You want to use the FLD125 2700K for flowering. I couldn't find the wing with a 2700K bulb, or even the wing alone, so I just took the 6500K bulb out for use in my vegging section (without a wing) and put in a 2700K bulb in my flowering section. I have some seriously happy girls. The wing is well-made and worth every penny. (especially if you're graduating from aluminum foil)Happy growing! Dan

Answer:	They're a whole lot sturdier than the average clear plastic saucers, but they're not rigid by any means. I'd be worried that these would flex far too much for your intended purpose. But if you don't plan on moving them during the party, have at it!
Question:	will these work with 3 gallon pots
Answer:	This saucer measures exactly 12" diameter at the base. 3 gallon pots are generally 10" in diameter at the base but may vary depending on the manufacturer. Measure the diameter of your pot(a) at the base first to be sure. A 10" diameter pot will have 1" of space on either side in this saucer. If it is too limiting, then order the 14" saucer,Good luck!
Question:	Description says 12 inches but Product Dimensions say : 14 x 2 x 14 inches, which is it
Answer:	I wanted 12" (very bottom measurement) but got 14"

Answer:	36 mm/1.41" dry (compressed). When wetted, they expand to about 1.5" diameter x 1.5" tall.
Question:	How long does one leave this plug in? Worried about overheating catching fire
Answer:	I left it plugged in the entire time I was trying to grow. It doesn't get that hot so I wasn't worried about overheating.
Question:	What is the power consumption? Wattage and amps
Answer:	The power consumption is less than 7 watts( typical night light). I found better luck the second planting when I just put seeds in a soil mixture rather than using the compressed peat pots.

Question:	How thick of a branch will these pruning shears cut
Answer:	This is a very small blade, it will cut flowers, trim very very find vines and snip off close to the main stem. It is NOT designed to cut branches even Rose Bush stem are too big if you are pruning back. It is not a side cutting blade that is best for branches. Garden Rose
Question:	The green titanium pruners on the HydroFarm website are not curved. Can somebody confirm with a picture what is actually being sold
Answer:	The HGPP400CT.. THE CT stands for curved titantium . If you order the scissors and they are not curved return them due to false item description.
Question:	What's the best way to clean them
Answer:	99% rubbing alcohol will take off anything that's stuck to them. Staples sales it. 50% and 70 percent will work it will just require more scrubbing. I take an old rag, fold it a couple of times. Then set your scissors down with the blades on the towel. Pour your rubbing alcohol over them and start rubbing away any built up gunk. Repeat all the steps if still dirty. Rinse with water because all rubbing alcohol will leave a white residue. Let dry and start cutting again. Bio-clean is a good almost organic solvent as well.
Question:	What is the length of the blade
Answer:	The blade is 2 inches long when closed and the surface you cut with is 1and3/4 inches long when opened.

Question:	What size space would this work for, and what size light for growing leafy vegetables
Answer:	Two feet by 13 inches is adequate. A good sunny spot would work, or a 45 watt LED grow light. This salad box works amazingly well, with no aeration necessary.
Question:	Where do I buy extra root wraps and fertilizer for this unit
Answer:	Like the other answer, I could not find additional supply. I switched to rooting plugs which I yhen placed into the net pots when roots were about an inch. Works fine without the wraps that way.
Question:	How does this work with no pump and oxygenation of the water
Answer:	It is based on reservoir fed air stratification deep water culture. Look for Kratky hydroponics on Youtube, and on google. Essentially this is one of the easiest forms of hydroponics, and one of the cheapest. You can use a gallon container that can receive either a two inch net cup or one of the aerogarden plastic pods and grow plugs with lettuce or bok choy seeds to grow a plant to harvest. Initially the pH balanced, hydroponic nutrient solution is up to the base of the net cup or pod moistening the base. Capillary action allows the seed to germinate and the roots dip down into the solution below the net cup/pod. As the solution is consumed by the roots, the plant grows, and some of the roots will always grow down into the nutrient solution, these are termed water roots. The other roots above the solution become "air roots" and stay in the humidified oxygen rich area. The plants grow and flourish until you harvest them or they run out of nutrient solution. You can add more solution but never all the way to the top, or you will "drown" your plants roots. See also mason jar hydroponics. The hydrofarm salad box gives you a reservoir that is slightly less than a gallon to replentish the "nute" level to a place that is enough to allow the plants water roots to exist without drowning the plants. Once the plants are mature they can suck the two gallons in a couple of days though, so you might want to check the reservoir occasionally. As long as you are growing salad greens or non flowering herbs the dry nutrient solution that comes with the salad box suffices at about one half to one teaspoon per gallon.
