Answer: Yes this should fit in your 44 using the same shims you already have in there. This will pop considerably on pavement in your rear diff. I have it in my front and it behaves like an open diff when in 2wd. It locks up in 4wd and becomes stiffer to steer but climbs rocks much better. I have the D-30 front.
