Question: My biggest problem out here in Arizona is cutting cactus plants. Will these gloves protect hands from the spines
Answer: no, these will not stop cactus spines. They are resistant to the little ones, but do not stop those either. The little ones still get through the fabric or the end of the glove. The big cactus spines go through the latex or the fabric. I used heavy duty latex gloves which came up to my elbow for pruning I had to do more close up, and then used some of the same ideas as Ms T who provided response #1 on Sept 10 2017. I even wore a heavy canvas apron, long sleeved shirt, heavy fabric pants, and the spines and little prickly ones still got through all those layers and even through the heavy duty latex gloves. Listen to Ms T's ideas for sure!! The gardening gloves are great for everything else.
