Answer:	Compost tea is made from finished compost, so yes. Dripping liquid from the composting process is called leachate, and it is not the same as compost tea.

Answer:	I read that I should place the composter in a shadier part of the yard. I got my composter this last winter and located it on the north side of the house. This is a little used area so it was as much for aesthetics as it was for advise. Anyway, our winters are pretty severe. I am in a zone 5. It got down past zero this year. I did not notice much composting action until spring. I never tried the hot water bottle trick, but I did add some compost starter when I got desperate for something to happen. As soon as the weather warmed up, this composter took off and I have one side that I am using on the garden already and the other side is already halfway done. I am very happy with the composter and don't blame it for not being too effective in the winter. If I had it to do over again, I might put the composter on the sunny side of the house, but then it would bake in the summer!

Answer:	Aaron, the clearance between the absolute bottom edge and the ground is 20 inches. That would assume the you intend to pour the contents straight down. The clearance from the bottom edge of the panel with the door, assuming your wheelbarrow is along side or partly under the tumbler is 30 inches. I find this perfectly reasonable because I do not empty all the contents out at one time. In fact, not so different from a "starter" in making sour dough bread, it is useful to leave some of the contents in the tumbler.

Answer:	I wish I had room in my garage or shed for mine. I have mine on my back patio and don't have any issues with odor whatsoever. I don't think it is a matter of smell at all. You may get some flies and gnats though. Just a part of composting. If it does get smelly, add some wood chips or shredded cardboard. You have too much "green matter". It is really best to mix a full load at a time so you get the right mix. If you want to continue adding kitchen scraps, start with at least 80% browns, and add the greens as you go. Keep it moist, but not wet.

Answer:	I am confused by this question, of course it’s suppose to leak if it did not you would have a mosquito habitat. Water should never set up in it. I set mine up next to the hose for easy clean up. I also put landscape lime in to speed up the breakdown and added “starter dirt” which also helps with breakdown and absorption. I have only experienced very very very small puddle consisting of 20 drops a couple of times. I hope this helps.
Question:	Anything tip for speed up compost in winter? It spent a long time
Answer:	I think you can add some of the coffee grounds, tea grounds, soil, rice bran, bacteria, etc.to speed up the composting efficiency. At the same time, turn the compost bin a few days to fully mix the compost materials.

Answer:	I find it very stable. Most of the time one side is full and “cooking” while I am filling the other side. If you need to you could put sand bags on the base. Here in California I get 2 buckets of lovely soil from one side very 3 to 4 weeks

Answer:	I made 2 batches so far. The 1st I filled 3/4 full and let it sit. Over time the pile lessened to about 1/2 as it composted. I filled the 2nd chamber full and am waiting for it to do its work...after 2 weeks it’s still pretty full, although it has decreased, and continues to compost.
