Question: Any problem with the typical alkaline battery leaking
Answer: The short answer is more less no, but I can't guarantee anything when it comes to batteries. These are made of a stack of small 1.5V button cells inside and you may have noticed from experience that buttons cells don't leak much at all. There is some air space around the neg edge of each cell which can hold some leakage if does. So while some of the cells inside may leak I'd be surprised if it escaped the outer casing and harmed your device. If you're curious about the internals you can peel open an old dead one for inspection and you'll see what I mean. Just try not to push your luck and leave them dead in your toy for a year or two. Replace when they're low/dead and you should be good. I've used A23 batts for many years and so far no external leakage. Also; they have a seam on the outer case and if it were to leak that's an escape point. So if possible, put the seam pointing upwards to increase your odds. Or maybe try sealing the seam with nail polish? I never tried sealing it because I've never had external leakage, but if I did that's what I'd try.

Answer: Dorothy, I am not whether or not it would work on a semi. I can say this product worked great on a smaller diesel engine and has performed flawlessly for me. I had an electrical problem, and this product eliminated that problem and I have not had to jump start my car since installing. Answer: Pulsed...though I am not an authority...I believe intermittent chargers are the only chargers now sold. And, you'll find this particular charger as being quite shocking!
Question: Is it effective on bears
Answer: Yes. I needed to keep a 600 lb. bear out of my fruit orchards and vineyards. I used 2 strands of aluminum wire, one hot, one ground. Marked the hot wire between each post with a small piece of red caution tape tied on as inducement to "nose it". Bears are curious. Worked great, and worked immediately. Before, I had massive destruction of both trees and fences every summer and fall, after installation, no disturbance at all. Used one 6' ground rod, with insulators holding the wire out from a T-post and 6' turkey wire fence with top rail so deer won't jump it. Effective for deer, bear, any animal because once they touch the wire, they learn real quick to leave it alone. The steel turkey wire plus steel T-posts also act as additional ground. If they put a paw on the fence, and touch the hot, zap!

Answer: Yes, the battery does come with it. However after I received mine it worked for a couple of days and quit. The manufacture is providing warranty work after I pay the expense of shipping.

Answer: We have never used it with tape, but one thing we found that REALLY helps with the connection between the box and the fencing is good copper wire. It helps transmit a very hot shock. It might be worth a try with the tape before returning the box!
