Answer:	Yes, these arrive clean with no ink cartridges or in the pen itself, although there are ink cartridges in the box for you to put in as you wish. They can also be used as a a dip pen.

Answer:	hopefully you have figured this out by now but you can refill the old cartridges with a blunt syringe look at Goulet pens or pen chalet, or you can get a pilot converter from them but you would still have to manually fill it with a syringe. Both companys and even here on Amazon have amazing inks now in any color under the sun and plenty with metallic in them, i love to write and play with those. As for white ink i have used Noodler's Whiteness of the Whale with great results.

Answer:	Its worked fine on all the papers I tried, but ink bleeding is common depending on the ink, the way its applied, the quality of the paper... if its too dry, too porous.... you just have to take a corner and experiment and then use the right tool for the job. it is a bit of a juggling act, but isn't everything?

Answer:	I use Press and Seal plastic wrap around the partially used cartridges once I take them out of the Pen. I store them horizontally so the hole is less likely to get clogged with dried ink. If you find that it has just take a water-dampened lint-free wipe (like is used for gel-nails etc) and gently wipe the dried area until clean. (I also clean out empty cartridges with water from a small syringe and refill with my own ink even though it warns that it could clog the pen - I find that nonsense as long as the ink is waterbased and the nib is cleaned before storing.)
Question:	Do the same refills work with the various sized pens and which size pen is best for addressing wedding invitations
Answer:	Yes, the same refills work in all the parallel pens--and the colors are pretty cool. You would definitely want the smallest size--1.2mm I think? A word of warning: I love these pens (I bought one in every size) and the flow is incredible, but here's a caveat: because they put out a fair amount of ink (hence the nice flow), they work best on very "inert" paper (like parchment or layout paper); otherwise, your work will bleed like crazy. Though not as flowing, the Shaeffer cartridge pens work pretty well and can be used on less forgiving paper. Their "M" nib is also 1.2 mm. Hope that helps!

You are better off getting blunt needle syringes (4 for $6.99) and refilling the cartridges using the syringe.

Answer:	Mine did not come with a converter but yes you can use other inks. What I found to work for me was to use up one of the provided cartridges and then refill it with other inks using a tiny plastic syringe. Some inks that are heavy bodied will not flow well. Still trying to find a good one for it. I've seen online that people just fill the pen body reservoir and don't use a cartridge at all but it can be messy if it leaks.

Answer:	Hello, I store mine with the cap upright. I am not sure if this the right way, but I feel then that the ink wont be always leaking down towards the nib when not in use.

Answer:	From experimentation I know for fact that you can actually use the Pilot fountain pen ink cartridges as well as the Pilot Parallel Pen ink cartridges. For example the ink cartridges that you would use for the Pilot Metropolitan Fountain Pens will work for the Pilot Parallel Pens. The only thing about that though is that with some of the ink it's going to be a bit runny or a bit wet and it may take a little while to dry. However; if you cannot find the color that you want, then using the Pilot Metropolitan Fountain Pen ink cartridges works great--or if you happen to have the ink cartridges handy and you don't have any Pilot Parallel Pen ink cartridges, you can use the Pilot Metropolitan Fountain Pen ink cartridges. Like I said I've experimented with it and do from time to time do that. So I know for a fact that it does and will work.
Question:	Are the ink cartridges just regular fountain pen refills or are they special
Answer:	They are special
Question:	How does one clean these nibs? Do I need special fulid or will water work? Thanks
Answer:	Water will clean it since the paint is water based, but by my experience, I've used these pens a fair amount of time and didn't have any problems of paint clogging on the nibs. The nibs are still as clean as brand new.

Answer:	I don't know. I haven't tried the other pens.
Question:	which lasts the longest....using an ink cartridge or filling the reservior with ink...thank you for any insight
Answer:	You can also purchase a CON-40 converter which will fit inside the Plumix. It holds less ink than a cartridge, but can then be used with a wide variety of fountain pen inks. The CON-40 is best filled by holding the twist hand in one hand, and filling the converter with a syringe or cheap plastic pipette.
Question:	Does it include writing samples to trace
Answer:	There is a small booklet included but if you want something more, I suggest the Paper Peony Press book: “Lettering and Modern Calligraphy: A Beginner's Guide: Learn Hand Lettering and Brush Lettering.” Sells here on Amazon for around $6. The pens in the kit are awesome and I use them all the time, even for just plain writing—they give a special twist to your handwriting! Have fun!

Answer:	I am NOT sure if the ink is waterproof; If it is NOT on the package; then its absolutely NOT WATERPROO.
Question:	What's the best practice that people use when you have a cartridge installed but then you want to use a different color
Answer:	You should stock up on a few different color cartridges to exchange as needed. Otherwise, you'll have to empty out the cartridge you are using, clean it out with water, then re-fill with the color ink desired. It is easier to have a small collection of different ink colors handy as filled cartridges.
Question:	Can these pens be refilled with my own ink? Like other calligraphy pens that have a refill attachment you can fill with your own ink
Answer:	There is a converter available from John Neal Booksellers. I have 3 converters and they work beautifully.There is also a YouTube video by Reggie Ezell that shows how to fill (and clean) the pen with your own ink. The "bladder" that comes with the pen may look like a converter to use with your own ink - but it is NOT! It is for cleaning the pen only.
Question:	What is the difference in the nib sizes? Which one do I want to use for regular size font? i.e. addressing envelopes
Answer:	I am not an expert--truly. However, I purchased the middle-sized one (2.4) and it is a little bigger than what I wanted. I would suggest getting the smaller one (as I wish I had) because it would probably be impossible to write a return address with the 2.4. I hope this helps!!!

Question:	So i just got mine. it came with a cartridge but once i popped off the converter it appears that there is a half plastic thing inside so i can't stic
Answer:	The little piece of half plastic is there to puncture a cartridge. The cartridge is sealed so when you insert it into the pen the bit of firm plastic pops the seal so the ink can get to the nib. When inserting the cartridge be sure to put the wider end into the pen as that is where the seal is located. I also recommend holding the pen upright when you do. If you do it with the nib facing down you will most likely leak ink out of the cartridge and on to things you don't want ink to go. If your using the converter, I don't think the plastic piece inside has any affect. I'm not totally sure as I have only used cartridges with mine. I hope this answers your question. Question:	How many mm wide is the nib
Answer:	Maybe 1mm or just slightly more but not 1 1/2. This is a great pen, I use it daily because it is wider than a standard fountain pen and allows some expression, but not so wide as to be so pronounced. If you're looking for a wide nib, this one is not it.
