Has a colored pencil ever broken at the tip & lodged in the sharpener? If so, how easily is the broken tip dislodged

No, this is the one downside to this sharpener. It will only take colored pencils like Prismacolor, the Faber Castell Polychromos will fit but it is a tight squeeze. It will not take larger barrel pencils like Derwent or Luminance. For those sizes, the best sharpener I have ever found is the Derwent Super Point manual sharpener, While it is not electric, it gives the most incredible sharp tip of any sharpener on the market!

Answer:	If you are asking about the "AFMAT Heavy Duty Pencil Sharpener," yes, it is. (Unfortunately!!) But, I will say it is very heavy duty and looks like it will (Hopefully!!) last a long time. I have only had it a couple of weeks, but have used it quite a bit and I am very pleased with it. I had another brand from Amazon and it only lasted a few months with very little use. I would recommend this one even though it is not made in the USA. It stops automatically when the pencil is sharpened and it really puts a sharp point on the pencils. I have not used if for anything except black lead #2 pencils. (Tip:) if you have a Lidl grocery store near you, try their Scholar #2 HB lead pencils. 44 cents for 10 pencils and just as good (IMHO) as the Tombows, Mitsu-bishi and Staedtler. They are made in India. (As you can see, I love pencils!! :-)

Question:	Will this sharpen charcoal and pastel pencils
Answer:	The sharpener opening is too small to fit any pencil over 5/16" or 7 mm in diameter. I sadly discovered this after I bought it and tried to sharpen my Caran D'Ache Luminance, Derwent Lightfast and Drawing colored pencils. Derwent Pastel pencils won't fit. The couple charcoal pencils I have don't fit. I only use it to sharpen my Faber Castell Polychromos and Prisma Premier colored pencils and regular lead pencils.
