Answer: It is strongly built. The thicker lead resists breaking the way thinner leads, even 0.9 mm leads, tend to do. My pencil goes every where with me and has put under serious stress; under water, freezing, desert temperatures. I have stepped on it sat on it and dropped things on it. I haven't tried opening a can with it yet. Keeps right on doing its thing. I would have gone through at least six mechanical or drafting pencils during the 10 months or so I have had the Rite in the Rain pencil. I am a field wildlife biologist and this pencil gets a lot of use and punishment. I intend to get another one, this time in yellow so it stands out more when I drop in on the forest floor in all that leaf litter.

Answer: Yes. You'll recall your old teacher telling you to use a "No. 2" pencil - that refers to the hardness of the lead. 3B leads are very soft, 3H leads are very hard. Answer: We have 3 of these whiteboards at our company. Due to the weight of the 3-M easel pads, the hooks would fall off. We found similar hooks in the hardware store that would serve the same purpose. We replaced the 2 Command-type hooks on all the boards with ones that were screwed into the whiteboard using 2 little screws. We never experienced another problem since.
