Answer:	You do need a tape dispenser. This tape is good and strong. You can't tear it by hand, but you could cut it to length with scissors. If you have an old used dispenser laying around, you can use that. But this is high quality, heavy tape and really should be used with a dispenser. It's too heavy to be manually torn.

Answer:	Yes, the tape is a plastic and get recycled in the plastics container. Love this tape its sooooo strong.

Answer:	You may very well be correct. Just examined a package I bought recently. The flag is there but doesn't state where the tape is made anywhere on the label or inside the rolls. Very discouraging when we think we're supporting an American company and it's yet another import.
