Answer:	Mine is in my classroom and I'm at home, so I can't measure it for you at the moment, but the slots are wide enough to accept a spiral bound notebook and tall enough to accept an additional 250 page novel.

Answer:	If you mean that you could read from the front, the answer is no. That surface is thin...less than a quarter inch. However, it's designed so that you can slide an 8 1/2 x 11" paper into the slot, and at the front of the slot, there's a visible black surface that is a full half inch wide and will nicely hold a label without being covered by the paper. However, you kind of have to look DOWN to read it. We have this in our preschool, and it works just fine. It would only be a problem if you have the unit up high. As long as the top row is eye level or lower, you can read the labels easily. Hope that helps! It's a fairly sturdy unit and works well for our needs.

Compartment Labeling

Whether you're adding names for the students in your>numbers for the corresponding tablets or subjects for returning assignments, the included sheet of sticky labels lets you easily mark each compartment for a particular person, machine or hour of the school day. Labels are included but you'll need to supply the marker.

Gently Tap In Dowels

Start assembly by adding the dowels to the vertical panels. Dip each dowel one at a time into water to activate the adhesive coating, then tap with a hammer until the dowel is set down into the panel. The damp glue on the dowels can get a little messy and possibly leave a stain on hands or materials, so wear a glove if you want to and be cautious about touching other objects after you handle the dampened dowels. You'll need to provide the glove and the hammer – they're not included.

Build Frame

The tops of the dowels should be roughly even with each other when installed and stick up slightly less than half a penny. (see the inset above) You should have two end panels and three divider panels. Align the dowels on each vertical panel with the appropriate holes on the base panel and push down until they're fully seated. Add the top panel to row of vertical panels and push it down until fully seated. Wait! - Make sure the finished edges of the side, top and base panels all face the same direction and the end panels are really on the ends!

Fasten Backing

Grab your hammer again because it's time to start attaching the fiberboard backing. You'll be tapping nails along the edge to fix the board to the frame. Nails should be evenly spaced about 4 - 6" inches apart. Use the diagram in your assembly instructions to get an idea of spacing and don't hesitate to grab your ruler or measuring tape and just mark your spots with a pen or pencil before tapping in the nails. Also, take this time to square up the frame with backing board to make sure everything is straight.

Add Shelves

After the frame is assembled, you can start configuring your shelves. Insert four metal support pegs for every shelf you want to add. Take a plastic shelf edge and slide it over one end of the hardboard shelf. Set the shelf on the support pegs ensuring that the side of the plastic shelf edge with the extended lip is facing down and that the lip settles in behind the front pegs to keep it from sliding out forward. After the shelves are all in, you're done! Nice work!

For example, the distance from the underside of a 1 inch thick desktop to the bottom of the unit would be different than the distance from a 3/4 inch thick desktop to the bottom of the unit. They can approximate this by measuring the thickness of their intended work surface, and subtracting that measurement from the overall height of the unit.

Answer:	Its very stable. I have each section stuffed with papers and heavy paper to make mailing labels. The bottom has 2 shelves which holds CD"S and additional accessories that I use for the printer. I keep this right next to the computer and printer.

Answer:	Across just about 13 1/2 inches, just about 11 1/2" deep and 13" high. I like it, it is sturdy and just what I needed for my home office. Hope this helped.

Answer:	The horizontal shelves are open on both sides. I actually like that because the way it is sitting on my desk, I can get to my papers from both sides. The shelves are deep enough that I have not had a problem of things falling out. I guess it depends how much you try to pile in one shelf.

Answer:	The ream of paper would probably fit but would expand the material. I actually had the ream of paper on top of the drawers. Yes envelopes would fit.
Question:	Does anyone know if I can spray paint this organizer? I want it red to match my other desk accessories
Answer:	I would think you could spray paint the organizer. Because it is a wire mesh construction, you would have to be careful of the paint coverage in-between the sides of left folder compartment. The drawers pull out completely, so they shouldn't be a problem, but preventing excess paint and allowing for drips might be something to think about. It's a great organizer!

Answer:	I'd say yes, you can stack them but the surface is slick so I'd probably drill a couple of screws to hold them together. Also, I'd figure out a way to hold them against the wall like with industrial strength double back tape.

Question:	I work in a call center. Is this sturdy enough to hold a phone
Answer:	I think it is sturdy enough but it does come apart so if you are planning on moving it or lifting the phone up and down it may not be the best. The two raised shelves easily hold a ream of paper each.
Question:	Has anyone figured out a good way to label each tray? There's really no place to adhere any sticker, etc. Do they sell labels specially made for them
Answer:	I plan to use labels printed in my Brother PT-D400. Similar labels can be created in a Dymo labeler (not the embossing labeler; the tape is too stiff). The Brother labels, at least, are plenty sticky and flexible enough to wrap around the end of each tray, and the size of the type can be adjusted to fit in the space available. Amazon has the Brother, and others: search label makers.
Question:	Is 5.8 the height of the individual trays? or is it the total height when you stack all three together
Answer:	All three when stacked. It works great for what I use it for
Question:	The dimensions are listed as 14.5 inches x 5.75 inches x 10.5 inches. But that doesn't seem right, just by looking at it. Could you possibly describe
Answer:	This is a different configuration than most stacking holders. The 14.5" is the depth, 10.5 the width and 5.75" the height. It allows paper storage (that's what I use it for anyway) inside my copier stand to be put in place depth-wise. I have two sets side by side so that I can easily remove paper supply and get maximum use from the shelf which is 24" wide, 16" deep and 9" high. I think assembled height is actually a bit more than the 5.75" listed by a couple of inches. (I just measured mine in place.) Hope this helps.
