Answer:	I've actually never tried to lock it in place but I do think it's a great product. It's much sturdier than others I looked at and the price is very reasonable for the quality. I've never had trouble with it slipping or moving, but I do have it on carpeting. Hope this helps.

Answer:	I wouldn't use it as a stationary foot rest as it would not be comfortable. It is 3.5" high and it is very comfortable. I love the rocking motion as it it very stable and fluid. If I move in my chair, the foot rest moves with me. I love this footrest! 6 Stars!

Answer:	No noise unless you let it flop to the floor. I enjoy rocking motion for feet when sitting long peroids of time.

Answer:	I use it on a hardwood floor and it stays put mostly but it's easy to pull it back by sticking your food under it in the front and pulling to you. I just tried it in my carpeted bedroom. While it doesn't stick as good as on hardwood, it's not bad at all on the carpet. I use it so I can sit back and have my feet touch the "raised floor" that this provides. I like it a lot.

Answer:	It feels pretty light. I would guess at no more than 1 pound or two. The problem isn't weight. It's rather large. you can easily rest four feet (2 pairs) side by side.

Answer:	I am more inclined to say no.It is really for use as a footrest. I do not know how you will control the up and down movement of this footrest.

Answer:	It does not slide that easily. It has rubber tabs on the bottom that provide a decent grip - just make sure they are kept clean and free from pet fur, for example. I find this to be very nice, well-made product compared to what I had previously.
