Question:	Is there a setting for the software to prompt asking the filename after each scan instead a default naming convention
Answer:	My software as 4 main option software command buttons: black & white, color, auto color, and something like "simple scan". My color button scans auto save in the "public documents" folder of my laptop. I put a link to that folder on my desktop for convenience, then cut and paste to the final destination, renaming from an auto-generated name to what I name it. I also delete auto-named batch files afterward from software so as to avoid confusion and to save memory space. But my rightmost button. Simple scan or something, makes you manually choose a destination location and file name with completion of each scan.
Question:	Does it come with all requisite cables and cords
Answer:	Yes. It comes with a USB 3.0 cord - which is nice because it allows this high speed scanner to push all of the data through the cord quickly. USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 if you do not have a USB 3.0 port on your computer.

Answer:	The ScanSnap iX1600 scanning speed is faster at 40 pages per minute. The ScanSnap iX1600 includes an LCD touch screen panel for better operability. Answer:	If you use the ScanSnap Manager, you can scan to file, email, pdf etc. You HAVE to use "their software" to use the scanner anyway.

Answer:	Mine is still on the shelf, waiting to use it on a trip. I did set it up and it scanned to my IPAD but I did not try to move the image anywhere and I'm not sure you can do that from Ipad but if connected as a regular scanner it should work. I have a Fujitsu ScanSnap that is fantastic. Two years old, I scan more than 100 a day and still kicking.

Answer:	A: If you need a scanner with auto doc feeder, does duplex, and that can also be 100% portable, do look to the ScanSnap S1300 or S1300i. Using it on a laptop with two USB ports the S1300 and S1300i can be run from USB power alone. That model I have purchased for me and others; holds about ten sheets. Using their software on a computer and iOS device it can scan through the computer to a iPhone and iPad. Choose the device that best fits your needs; maybe both. The S1300/S1300i and ix100 are outstanding devices; I have never regretted that purchase.
Question:	Does this scan directly to PDF from the device of does it need the software to convert it to PDF as another separate step after the initial scan
Answer:	Depends on how you set it up with the computer software. If you mostly scan to pdf then set it that way and everytime you use it will do just that, but just before you scan and you want somthing different like .JPEG then you can change the settings and then scan.

Answer:	According to datasheet here https://fcpamarketing.com/ix1500_datasheet.pdf on the last page, Long paper scanning supports Up to 3000 mm (118 in), I suppose with 300 dpi. And Smart device (I do not know what that means) 1726 mm (68 in) for a single-sided document or 863 mm for a duplex scan, but receipts 99.9% usually single sided
Question:	can it scan 11x17 sheets
Answer:	I have an iX500 that comes with a plastic carrier sheet. Simply fold the 11x17 document in half and wrap around the carrier sheet for scanning. Not sure if the iX1500 comes with these carrier sheets.
Question:	What is the difference between this model and the PA03656-B
Answer:	The only difference is the B005 comes with Adobe Acrobat Standard (not the latest version) and the B305 comes with a Nuance software package instead.

Answer:	when i had big items/maps to scan i actually used a wand scanner that rolls along the page. I used a straight edge to make sure it was clean and overlapped less image. I still had to use photoshop to combine them but it was less hassle and easier to combine large strips than a lot of discrete images.

Question:	Can you set this scanner up to scan to a pdf file not software
Answer:	A Windows computer will not tell the difference because it only sees this device as an input device. With Windows fax and scanning built in you can choose the output to be whatever file format you want

Answer:	The fi65f true dimensions are 9 1/4 x 5 1/4 x 1 1/2. Great machine but scan is limited to basically a 4 x 6 area

Answer:	Bonnie's answer is correct. You are given the opportunity to scan to an excel document. If the scanned page contains data that lends itself to a cellular format, then the scan puts the data into excel columns and cells.

Answer:	only when the paper is sticky, stapled, glued, or folded. If the paper is clean and not stuck in anyway, no problems with jams. I have worn out two of these with over 100,000 pages scanned prior to wear out. Also, don't over fill the paper feed slot. Too many pages at a time and it will jam.

Answer:	I don't believe so, you must use the interface first and then can be moved to SD card but not the other way around. thanks.
Question:	I have 100's of photos to scan. Can I feed them one after the other or do I have to click something after each one in order to scan the next one
Answer:	As James Eastridge says, they will auto-feed. But I've found that fine white lines appear on the digitized images after about 15 photos. Something from the surface of the physical photos collects on the rollers or glass and the lines get more pronounced the more photos I put through. To clean, I take 3 q-tips with a small square of t-shirt material banded around them and dip this in a bit of isopropyl alcohol. I rub this over the glass and rollers, take a soft toothbrush and rub it over the glass and rollers, then finish by buffing with a microfiber cloth. To get the most from each cleaning, I run 15 photos through the left side, then 15 through the right, then clean again. It's a hassle, but it's still faster than using a flatbed and the image quality is very good. I thought about trying another scanner, but for all I know, I'd have the same problem as they all use rollers. This appears to only happen with photos; I didn't notice these lines on any of the documents I scanned.

Answer:	It actually comes with a cable with a nice velcro tie wrap since you'll be wrapping it up and taking it with you if you're a business traveler. The Fujitsu folks really put some effort into this.

Answer:	I just took my Brother DS-620 back to Best Buy because the software is not user friendly. I've had a S1100 ScanSnap, and let me tell you, it runs rings around the Brother DS-620. Very easy to use, great software.
