Reproducing an object can be time-consuming, tedious, and error-prone. The SOL 3D scanner and software allows you to easily create a replica of objects using six simple steps:

1. Scan the object using the SOL 3D scanner with included software.

Answer:	A well trained, and thoroughly experienced user can use a hand-held 3D scanner to scan a pet in a single specific pose. The pet would have to be equally well-trained to where he can sit perfectly still on command for up to 60 seconds if needed. If the pet moves during scanning (for example, tilts his head or turn it to watch the scanner, repositions his legs, etc.) then the operator will have a difficult time processing the data and may need to re-start the scan. Furthermore, the quality of the pet's hair can pose some problems for scanning (you'd have a tough time scanning a domestic long-haired cat and an easier time scanning a Labrador retriever with shorter, smoother fur).

Answer:	Sure you can export to any number of CAD formats, but as far as replicating something like a fully functional stapler, no. We're not at Star Trek yet. The scanner can only scan the outer surface of an object, it can't replicate all the internal moving parts. What you would have would be something that looks like a stapler, but it would not be functional.

Question:	Has anyone used this scanner for more than two years (moderate use)? I'm replacing a Neat Scanner that began to fail after about a year
Answer:	This is more of a business grade scanner than the Neat from top to bottom. I have a true paperless setup, I scan 99% of all of my documents (bills, receipts, instruction manuals, etc) the first time I handle them then shred the originals. The only thing I don't shred are legal documens but I still scan them. I have a routine that every month I make an offsite backup copy and every year I make an additional archive copy. I've scanned thousands of documents (more than moderate use) and the scanner has performed flawlessly. BTW this is my third scanner of this style, my first Epson.
Question:	Can this be used to scan id cards

Answer:	No, you will need to initiate the scan and save the scanned document from your computer. Although it is wireless, it is not a stand-alone scanning solution.
Question:	Can you continue scanning into one report after scanning the 50 pages in the auto document feeder? i.e. Will it scan > 50 pages into one report
