Question:	Will this work with macos big sur
Answer:	As of 1/25/21 the driver does not work properly with Big Sur 11.2 running on a 2020 M1 mac mini (it scans 1 document after a computer restart, then refuses to scan again unless computer is restarted!) Spoke with Canon cs who suggested that they are continuing to work on updates, but no target availability date yet. TWAIN driver also does not work with Apple's "image capture" software included with the M1 mini, and Canon doesn't have plans to update it. Sadly, the scanner hardware seems of very good quality and is very fast when the software works. Probably great on older OS's and machines. ***Discovered a workaround--immediately after restarting, the scanner will remain connected/fully functional for a minute or two, during which you can scan like mad until it times out and you are forced to restart again!

Answer:	Yes it does support up to legal size. I just got mine in yesterday and put it through the paces. I’m a mobile notary so scanning mixed paper sizes in the same scan is a must. It scanned letter and legal with no problems and quickly. It even says it can scan 11x14 in the brochure.

Answer:	Feeder works well, hasn't eaten any photos yet. The output tray is balky but adequate. Software can do color correction, either for each photo or as a preset.

Question:	Does it have a history of the ink drying up and is it hard to clean if it does
Answer:	While I haven't used this specific printer, I have a great deal of experience with inkjet printers in general, including several Brother, Epson, HP, and Canon models. Canon's ink delivery systems tend to do very well at avoiding this problem, as long as adequate care is taken by the user. The interface between the ink cartridge and the printhead is a small sponge at the bottom of the cartridge, which the ink strains through as it's being drawn into the nozzles. There are no open ports or holes to dry out, and no flexible tubes to clog or kink. Like most inkjets, the printhead caps itself when it's not in use, and self-cleans when needed to avoid ink buildup. As long as none of these mechanisms are tampered with, in my experience they work well to prevent clogging and dropouts. (Tampering would be things like: stopping the printhead mid-pass so it's left uncapped, trying to print on inappropriate stock that ends up physically touching the printhead, removing and reinserting cartridges multiple times so they're exposed to open air, defeating the self-cleaning mechanism, etc. — And I don't even want to think about how bad an idea refilling the cartridges would be, since it would mean re-using those little sponges.) Our Cannon printers have almost never even needed a self-test run, since the output rarely degrades, and if they do print a self-test it tends to be flawless. Unlike our Epsons, where it's a constant struggle to keep the head nozzles clear and dropout-free.
