Question:	If you run out of a certain kind of ink, (like black or magenta) will it continue to print with the ink cartridges you have left
Answer:	There are 2 front load trays (no back feed). The large tray is on the bottom (for 8-1/2 x 11"); small tray is in the middle (for 5x7 and smaller). With the small tray, make sure you line up arrows when installing; it can easily be pushed in to far. Both these trays are auto feed. Answer:	No, the 630 came with 410 ink and I also bought the 273, but after talking to Epson who said this printer requires 410, I returned and cancelled the 273. The 273 is for the old 600 printer. I know the cartridges looks identical, but I wouldn't take the chance! Amazon should stop posting that comment in frequently bought with this printer!

Answer:	Install the color as well and just never use it. Before print it’ll give you an option to choose color or black and you can also just use black.

Question:	If you run out of a color cartridge, will it print in black
Answer:	No! I cannot get mine to print in black and white when any color cartridge is empty. It does NOT automatically print in black only and even when I change the settings, it refuses to print. Once I replaced the color cartridges, it happily printed in black and white again. I've never had a printer do this.

Question:	What is the difference between this printer and the 7710 printer? Besides price
Answer:	If you look at the 7710 it had only one paper tray. The 7720 has two.
Question:	Can I keep printing in black even if the color cartridges are depleted
Answer:	From what I have read, you can print in black but only for a short time. Even when printing in black or gray scale, the printer uses several colors. Some color printer manufacturers HP claim that by printing in black when the color cartridges are empty can damage the colored print heads by continuing to print after they are empty. I don't know if this is true or a way to sell more color cartridges.
Question:	I see that this can scan 11x17. is that via the flatbed only? what is the maximum scan size that the adf can handle

Answer:	Yes you can. I just scanned a 5 page document using the document feeder. Worked great!
Question:	Does the top lift up so I can scan books/other things that won't fit through the document feeder
Answer:	Yes it hinges up. The rear hinges seem to be able to lift up higher than just a page, like on a book, but it definitely lifts up. I normally lift up the top to scan one or two pages vs. using the document feed.

Answer:	My photo printing was excellent quality. Adjusting the paper feed system is not an easy adjustment, but much easier on the fourth or fifth time you use it. One small thing is there is a 1/16" white strip on top and bottom. Tom
Question:	How does the mfc-j880dw differ from the mfc-j870dw
Answer:	The 880 has touch screen fax buttons instead of physical buttons, uses different print cartridge model numbers (newer possibly) and has NFC support for phones that support. I have not used a 870 so I'm not sure if the 880s touchscreen is more responsive but usually they update the processor on refreshes. However, I visited Brother's site and couldn't find anything explaining it. (You'd think they'd hype it if it were better.) I also called Brother and the person I talked to didn't know anything about LED digital printing technology. He said laser and LED were basically the same.He did have an answer to my other question about fusing temperature. This printer's fusing temperature is 400 degrees Fahrenheit. The HP Color Laserjet Pro 252dw fusing temperature can be adjusted to as low as 160-170 degrees Fahrenheit. If you're concerned about melting paper, such as fabric transfer paper, it sounds like the HP printer is the better choice.

Answer:	According to the manual it does allow for 11X17 printing and it is able to print 2 pages on 1 paper. There are 2 trays and a special tray/slot in back. I do not use this personally so I can't say if it works great.
