Question:	Can i use with a window based computer or does it have to be a MAC
Answer:	We just got out of a Cricut class tonight, 10/14/2019) at a local Michaels. We (my wife and I) both downloaded the DesignSpace software in class from the Cricut website to our Windows 10 laptops and after downloading a small Windows add-in, were able to launch DesignSpace, create and cut projects successfully from out laptops. We also had out Apple iPads and downloaded the Apple Store DesignSpace app and had no problem using them to design and cut. Can’t speak about the Mac though...
Question:	I am looking to get my first Cricut machine. Will the faster speed matter or should I save some money and get the previous version to learn on
Answer:	The only difference between the air1 and air2 is the speed of the cut and the color options for the machines. I have the air2 and I honestly haven't even tried the faster cutting option because I've been cutting really delicate things and I was afraid that it would rip the material at a faster speed. I guess this question depends on how much you would use it and for what. I don't, by any means, think the air1 is "slow".

Answer:	Through personal experience, the Cricut Design Space software let’s you upload svg files, but not ai or eps. The best advice for cutting images from Illustrator is to use a USCutter instead, it uses a software called Sure Cuts A Lot and works with alot of file types (ai, eps, svg)

Answer:	Hello, the LX500 is a great sticker printer however it would not be durable enough for a typical outdoor decal. We do sell the LX610 Color Label Printer with Built-in Die Cutter that prints the label and cuts it out to any shape. The LX610 also offers pigment ink which is more durable when paired with a synthetic material. Answer:	At about 50% coverage, Ive gone through almost half a cartridge on just around 200 prints. I would look elsewhere at that kind of volume.

Answer:	Yes, it is comes with the blades, BUT DON'T BUY THIS MACHINE, waste your time, My one coming is not working, contact seller always said call them, but the customer service phone never answer. ask them to return the machine, they said need re-stocking fee 20%, then must be call them technical support to solve the problem, call them test everything same problem, they send me a new mother board ask me to exchange it, after exchange it same problem, so I ask for Amazon refund, finally amazon refund the money, seller also not send me the returning shipping label, wasted me 4 weeks time.
Question:	Does it work with MAC? If so, what software is needed or not
Answer:	ABSOLUTELY works with a mac! I use it with my MacBook Pro all the time. You can't use the included software and will need to purchase Sure Cuts A Lot. IMO, it's a superior program anyway. I LOVE it and use it with both my cameo 3 and my MH 34. :)
Question:	Does this cutter works with Corel Draw
Answer:	I use Corel Draw and Photoshop to prepare my files. By that I mean, I create my logo, design, etc. in the program (corel draw) and safe it as a low bit PNG file. Then I go over to the Sure Cuts A lot program / screen and import or place the previously created/saved file on the matt (desktop of surecutsalot). The critical part here is, that sometimes the matt does not show the trace / outline image I created, after hitting the cut window button. So you have to play around a little, go back to Corel and adjust, re-save the pic, etc. And redo. It does work for me, but remember.. the more lines, corners, trickiness your design has, this cutter has its limits. Now if you question is, if the Corel opens or works directly with the Cutter, without the SureCutsAlot software, I do not know or have not done that. All in all, if you are good with Corel and play around with creation - import / paste - trace - cut it will take you maybe an hour to figure it all out. The biggest problem I had, was that if the pic / design is not properly traced, even though it shows perfectly on the surecutsalot matt / screen, It will suddenly cut through the middle of your design / vinyl and ruin a big batch of your material. Which was hard, because I hate wasting material. But if that happens, then the customer service recommends to redo/reimport, etc. But even better to create the design in surecutsalot from the start. surecutsalot does not really offer much design play room, so id rather redo. I hope this makes somewhat sense. I love the cutter for the price. And recommend it. Customer Service is American based and very helpful. I believe people get frustrated with the item, because they do not understand the connection between software and cutter. Good luck

Question:	How does it match up with the print outs on my paper to accurately cut out what is printed? Or is that not something it can do
Answer:	There are two ways that you can "print and cut". One is by using a special new mat called the PixScan that is available for it, and an app that goes with it on your phone. With that you can cut around anything...it doesn't have to be something you printed from the Silhouette software. It can be a stamped image, or handwriting, or whatever. The other way is by creating the file in Silhouette's Design Studio software and then adding registration marks to your document before printing it. The machine reads these to orient itself on the paper when you feed the paper into the Portrait to cut.
Question:	Can you use 8 1/2" paper even if it only cuts 8" or would you need to trim your paper to
Answer:	I have put 8 1/2 by 11 paper on the mat. You just cannot see all the numbers on the side but you do not have to cut it to 8 inches. Hope this helps. I absolutely love my Silhouette and I still do not even know how to use have of the items yet.
Question:	Will the software that comes with this print .ai files? Is there other software that will print out designs for this printer
Answer:	Not the software that comes with it. However you can buy Silhouette Connect software for $40 which allows you to cut directly in Adobe Illustrator. Would highly recommend using that program if you know Illustrator.
Question:	What will the Cameo do that the Portrait will not do
Answer:	I had purchased the Portrait, but found I was limited on what I could create since it's width is just 8 inches wide. Most of the paper or vinyl I wanted to use with the Portrait were at least 8 1/2 inches wide. So I bought the Cameo and I'm very happy with it. Other than the width limitation, they both operate the same way.

Answer:	You can link a cartridge to the machine, but you cannot use cartridges with this machine. You plug the cartridge in and download it to your account. Once you have downloaded it, you can get rid of the cartridge. You do need a computer to use this machine, it is not stand alone like previous models.

Question:	Which blade would work best to cut fabric
Answer:	You have to have a rotary blade for that
Question:	Will these blades engrave on dog tags
Answer:	Tungsten carbide is much harder than any material I know of that has been used for dog tags, however, these blades are fine edged, designed for cutting thin materials, not engraving. While certainly could be done, I'd expect the very sharp and fine points might have a tendency to stick in the metal and jump around. If you have a diamond sharpener, you could reprofile the blades to be more suitable, but you're probably best off buying dedicated engraver points if they're available.
Question:	Will these work for shrink film
Answer:	I’ve used the red ones on shrink film I set in plastic canvas so it does two passes. Then I “punch” them out gently. Another pass would be perfect—I’m just not that patient.

Answer:	If you go to uscutter.com...then go to "Support"...click on "Software" ..."VinylMaster Software Download"...enter the PSN number from the back of the software box...then look for "Legacy Drivers" ... I use Vevor SK- 870 and then download the driver. When you try to make the connection, I use the Direct Com port option with the USB cord that came with my cutter...the blue cord. Hope this helps you. I learned everything from trial and error because the company tells you NOTHING about how to use this cutter. Good Luck!
