Question:	Can you use this scanner to scan to Adobe PDF? Or you have to use their software
Answer:	If you use the ScanSnap Manager, you can scan to file, email, pdf etc. You HAVE to use "their software" to use the scanner anyway.

Answer:	Mine is still on the shelf, waiting to use it on a trip. I did set it up and it scanned to my IPAD but I did not try to move the image anywhere and I'm not sure you can do that from Ipad but if connected as a regular scanner it should work. I have a Fujitsu ScanSnap that is fantastic. Two years old, I scan more than 100 a day and still kicking.

Answer:	A: If you need a scanner with auto doc feeder, does duplex, and that can also be 100% portable, do look to the ScanSnap S1300 or S1300i. Using it on a laptop with two USB ports the S1300 and S1300i can be run from USB power alone. That model I have purchased for me and others; holds about ten sheets. Using their software on a computer and iOS device it can scan through the computer to a iPhone and iPad. Choose the device that best fits your needs; maybe both. The S1300/S1300i and ix100 are outstanding devices; I have never regretted that purchase.
Question:	Does this scan directly to PDF from the device of does it need the software to convert it to PDF as another separate step after the initial scan
Answer:	Depends on how you set it up with the computer software. If you mostly scan to pdf then set it that way and everytime you use it will do just that, but just before you scan and you want somthing different like .JPEG then you can change the settings and then scan.

Answer:	It will work with any computer that has (a) an available USB port, and (b) an up-to-date operating system. It will certainly work with an HP laptop that is less than 7 years old.

Answer:	I have a Mac but I also have a Windows laptop. What I do is scan onto the wand and then connect the wand to the laptop through the USB and transfer the scans onto my Windows laptop. So I'm not using the software-I wasn't able to figure out how to get it to work so I decided to do it this way instead.

3. keep pressing the "UP Button" , then press "Scan" to start calibration process

Answer:	No. The ix100 has only one camera, which keeps the price down. When I have a two sided document, I scan in the other side and the software puts it together in one file. The ix300 has 2 cameras.
