Our smallest shredder option that can handle shredding CD's/DVD's would be the ideal 2270. The ideal 2270 cross cut or strip cut shredder has a separate slot for shredding CD's / DVD's only. If you are looking for a larger cross cut shredder that can shred CD's / DVD's please take a look at the ideal 2604 cross cut Security Level P4.
Question:	Why is the full bin error message showing when bin is empty
Answer:	Excellent question. Unplug your machine first and give this a try: Open the cabinet door, pull out the bin, and look up into the head of the machine you will see a metal tab hanging down. This is your bag sensor. Sometimes the tab can get stuck in the up position making your shredder think "it's full of shreds". Try gently pulling this metal tab down a bit. Another possibility is you might have a paper jam or a build up of paper dust which is tricking the shredder into thinking it's full. First unplug your machine and try using a can of spray air in the feed opening to see if this helps. You can always look up into the bottom of the shred head to see if its jammed with paper shreds this may indicate you need a professional cleaning. Answer:	Great question! This particular model the ideal 2465 cross cut is a Security Level P5 and the finished shred size is 3/32" x 5/8" (2 x 15 mm). The ideal 2465 cross cut is also offered in a Security Level P4 which has a larger cross cut shred size of 3/16" x 1 1/2" (4 x 40 mm). Always keep in mind that the smaller shred size gives you a higher security level but a lower sheet capacity because the shredder is working harder to make a smaller shred. Answer:	The ideal 2465 does come with a small sample size bottle of shredder oil (50 ml) and a couple of sample shredder bags. It's always good to oil your shredder after every bag change and after a day of heavier than normal shredding. You can just zig zag some oil across a sheet of paper and shred it (less mess). The 2465 has a heavy duty plastic pull out bin inside the wooden cabinet. You can choose to use the bin bag-less if you desire.

Answer:	Great Question! Yes the ideal 2465 Strip Cut shredder Security Level P2 can shred CD's/ DVD's. Please be careful because only the "Strip Cut Security Level P2" can shred CD's / DVD's. The ideal 2465 also comes in a "Cross Cut" Security Level P4 and Security Level P5 and these cross cut versions cannot shred CD's / DVD's.

Answer:

Unfortunately there isn't an easy answer to this question. There are many variables which come into play which will determine the life of any shredder such as what you are shredding, how often you are shredding, and is the machine being properly oiled. The secret to the life of any shredder is to oil it regularly. The ideal 2604 strip cut does not have an automatic oiling unit on it. The auto oiler exists on our ideal 2604 cross cut which helps take the guess work out of when to oil but as long as you oil after every bag change and after a heavy day of shredding this is always the best way to ensure your shredder is getting enough oil. You also need to take into consideration what you are shredding and how much you are shredding. Different paper stocks can create more paper dust compared to others within the machine and the more you shred the more dust you create and the more wear is being put forth on gears over time. If your ideal shredder is being properly oiled and used per specs it will give you years of trouble free service. Answer:	Great question! It's actually true that our ideal 4002 cc P5 can shred 565 sheets per minute. It has a strong 1 HP motor so you have to consider the sheet capacity, which is a max of 16 sheets of 20 lb bond paper weight, along with the shredding speed of 25 ft. per minute. The ideal 4002 P5 will shred a stack of 16 sheets of paper in roughly 1.5 seconds. So with that being said if you feed the shredder 16 sheets every 1.5 seconds for 1 minute you would shred around 640 sheets total in 1 minute worth of shredding time. We lowered the total sheets to 565 because we taking into account exactly how fast a human can gather sheets and shred. I hope this helps. Answer:	Excellent question. The ideal 4002 cross cut comes with a quart size bottle of shredder oil used for the Automatic Oiler. The shredder can go through a quart size bottle of oil if being used non stop for 6-7 hours straight. The auto oiler cannot tell if you are shredding 1 sheet or 26 sheets of paper so you would be wasting oil if only shredding 1 sheet at a time. Answer:	The ideal 4002 strip cut does have an automatic cool down feature if the situation did occur and you would see a flashing "On" with flashing red "Reverse". The ideal 4002 is rated for continuous duty so it's durable enough to provide you with hours of hassle free shredding. Also keep in mind your shred bin would eventually fill up and require emptying allowing the machine time to cool down while you stop to stop change bag. The ideal 4002 has a strong 1 3/4HP motor for continuous shredding and always remember to get full power do not have the machine plugged into a shared power strip the unit should be plugged directly into the wall. Answer:	I would guess not.
Question:	what about the lubricant sheets. are they needed
Answer:	I bet it would work since the 2172 and 2166 are the same saw with the exception of the different transfer covers just like the husky 365 and 372. For $20 its worth a shot.
