10 best rack reverb
A rack reverb, also known as a rack-mounted reverb unit, is a piece of studio recording equipment commonly used in the production of music and audio. It is related to studio environments, studio recording equipment, and musical instruments. Here's what you need to know about rack reverb:
Purpose: A rack reverb unit is used to create artificial reverberation effects in recorded audio. Reverb, short for reverberation, refers to the persistence of sound reflections in an acoustic space after the original sound source has stopped. It adds depth and a sense of space to audio recordings, making them sound more natural or atmospheric.
Rack-Mounted: Rack reverb units are designed to fit into standard 19-inch racks commonly found in recording studios. They are typically housed in a sturdy metal enclosure, making them suitable for professional studio setups.
Processing: Rack reverb units process audio signals by applying various algorithms and electronic components to simulate the characteristics of different acoustic spaces, such as concert halls, rooms, or chambers. These units allow musicians and audio engineers to adjust the reverb parameters to achieve the desired sound.
Controls: Rack reverb units typically come with a range of controls and settings, including parameters like reverb time (the duration of the reverb decay), pre-delay (the time delay before the reverb starts), and the level of wet (effected) and dry (original) signals. These controls allow precise adjustment of the reverb effect.
Input and Output: Rack reverb units have audio input and output connections, often using standard audio connectors like XLR or 1/4-inch jacks. The audio signal is sent through the unit's processing and then returned to the recording or mixing console.
Presets: Some rack reverb units include preset settings that emulate specific reverb environments, making it easier to achieve desired sounds without extensive manual adjustments.
Integration: Rack reverb units are commonly integrated into recording and mixing setups, either as standalone effects processors or as part of a larger signal processing chain. They can be used on individual tracks or applied to an entire mix to create a cohesive sonic space.
Digital vs. Analog: Rack reverb units come in both digital and analog variants. Digital units use digital signal processing to emulate reverberation, offering a wide range of preset options and precise control. Analog units use physical components to create reverb effects and may provide a distinct, warm character.
Rack reverb units are essential tools in the recording and production of music, film soundtracks, and various audio projects. They allow audio engineers and musicians to shape the spatial qualities of sound, adding richness and depth to recordings and enhancing the overall listening experience.

User questions & answers
Question: | I want to use on a dedicated subwoofer amp. What is the frequency response of this unit |
Answer: | Frequency response does not matter. This unit is a meter that measures signal strength/level - which is apples and oranges to frequency response. It will work fine with your subwoofer but don't hook it up to the power outputs from the amp - hook it up to the signal going into the power amp. |
Question: | Can you hook xlr to rca(for the stereo receiver)? True probably go just rca ro rca but that wont be as much fun |
Answer: | Yes, XLR is positive, negative and shield. Depending on signal direction. If xlr to rca shield would only connect at xlr. If rca to xlr shield would be connected to rca negative post. When shield is connected to sorce connector only it creates a shield to block interference along the cable. |
Question: | So which 5v power supply is included? (usa |
Answer: | Standard . 5v to 120v |
Question: | Can this be used with a bass amp |
Answer: | Be warned... it is NOT accurate (flat) with regard to bass frequencies. It works down to around 50 Hz, but at 30 Hz response is down and at 20 Hz it's WAY down. Something to be aware of. |

User questions & answers
Question: | what's the warranty on this product |
Answer: | Hello, You will need to check with the airline you will be flying with. They will be able to assure you if the case will fit in their overhead bins. Here are the dims for the exterior of the GR-2S. Exterior Length 17.5 " Exterior Width 21.5 " Exterior Height 6 " Exterior Weight 9 lbs If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]. Thanks! |
Question: | Does this case roll through grass well? Looking to use it in a park regularly |
Answer: | I think it's reasonable light weight, but after adding a metal shelf to hold the radios, and a power supply, atu, and an ft-891 and signalink it got a bit heavy. Still lighter then my buddies pro case with similar equipment and an icon 7300. |
Question: | Can you mount a shallow server computer in this case |
Answer: | Don't know about the Hartke H1000, but my Hartke HA3500 is about 14 1/2" deep and didn't quite fit in GR-2S I bought. Even though the case has a "rackable depth" of 14 1/2" that refers to how deep it is with the rear lid on which adds 2" of clearance. Otherwise, without the back lid on, the internal depth of the case itself is 12 1/2". So the rear end of my Hartke stuck out the back of this case by 2" (looked kinda funny) and while the lid just barely fit over those 2" when attached, it was tight, making contact with the back end of the amp. Not ideal. My suggestion is to measure the depth of your amp - from front mounting plate to the far physical extreme of the back end (including any protrusions, like fan housing, etc.) and if it's any more than 14 1/2", this case probably won't work. Hartkes are great amps, but hard to find practical cases for them; the Gator's regular GR-L series cases would work, but are quite large - overkill for the amp by itself. Hope this helps, and good luck. |
Question: | What is the distance in inches from the front rail to the rear rail |
Answer: | It counts on you to handle it at each channel. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How will this help a person who raps and doesnt sing |
Answer: | It is dominantly for tuning sung notes, so my impression would be not that much. However, if you sing a FEW notes while rapping, you can get that mechanized sound as you change pitch if you set it for aggressive tuning. In addition, as a vocal processor there are some fun effects to play with. |
Question: | I have a zoom r16 recording machine...can I plug this into my zoom and use it that way? Will I hear the vocals in my head phones like plugging in a no |
Answer: | This machine has a line output, you need a tr 44 connection. Which basically is a really big headphones jack. That plugs into your mixer. Then it goes to your DAW. If you have the setting in your DAW to hear yourself life then all is good |
Question: | Hello everyone, I have 2 tascam ta-1vp, but as soon as I activate the auto-tune function has the speed of correction to 0, my voice crackling |
Answer: | The speed correction is not universal. Each program has to be saved with its own speed correction. |
Question: | Can this be used for the studio |
Answer: | Yes this unit works best in a studio environment. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have a mackie profx 12v2 mixer and planning on buying some ears to make this a mounted board. Will that fit on the top rack |
Answer: | Yes, using the CV and Gate. |
Question: | Does it fit for a yamaha mgp16x 16-channel mixer |
Answer: | Probably not. I have both types of stands, and the hole locations are different due to the Moog skiffs being deeper. The mounting holes are the same, it’s the hole openings for the bottom that are different. |
Question: | Does this have rear rails |
Answer: | My opinion is that the stand will be fine in that use case: it's very solid and well constructed. I have a Neutron and a Model D in mine (top row and bottom row). |
Question: | Does a presonus 16.4.2 fit in this case |
Answer: | A couple of questions...is it a powered mixer? How wide is it with the rack mount attached? Are the XLR jacks on the top or back? What is the make & model of your mixer? Armed with this info, I may be able to give you a "yes" or ""no" answer. |
Question: | Does this one come with 120v or 240v power supply since it’s being shipped from the UK |
Answer: | Hello, Yes the Touch Mic 30 should fit in the GRC-12X10 PU Rack case. However, you will need the Rack Mounting pieces from QSC in order to mount it. Thanks! |
Question: | Will this connect to an arturia minibrute 2 just through the patch sections? im thinking it should, both being 3.5 mm. or will i need other component |
Answer: | It actually has a 12U top and 10u sides, the description is a little messed up. |
Question: | Will my Moog 104 skiff fit into this rack |
Answer: | No only a 19" mount |
Question: | If I mount 2 neutrons, can I mount them in the top 2 tiers or will the lack of weight on the bottom cause the stand to be off balance |
Answer: | Yes! That shelf is short and doesn’t require any rear rack rails; which is a good thing because this rack doesn’t have any. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are the casters permanently attached or are they removable so the case can be set on a table for operation |
Answer: | Hello, The Yamaha MGP16X will not fit into the GRC-10X4. This is because the MGP16X is a 11U Mixer;since we do not make 11U cases, you would need a 12U case like the GRC-12X10. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]. Thanks! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this hold an ampeg svt classic on the bottom, and if so how many unit spaces owuld still be available |
Answer: | Yeah, I would say so. I had my case full of units and still was able to store a couple coils. Just as a heads up, I flew with the case once and the black feet broke off. The second time I flew, a wheel chipped off. I sent the case back to Amazon within 2 weeks. |
Question: | But can i get complete rack with all equipment from you |
Answer: | it would ship via truck freight, we ship it for free plus 5% with promo code: GAT5PROM with us |
Question: | Will it come with all those iquipments |
Answer: | about 20.75" wide from edge to edge of the case but the ball corners will make it about 21.5" total width. 35.5" tall with casters installed or about 30" tall without. Front to back the case is 19.25" but the caster plate at the bottom is about 22.75" without the doors on, 26.5" with doors on, but the ball corners will again add about .75" to that. All depends on what you are stacking around it as to what dimensions you will find the most useful. Hope that helps. |
Question: | Will it come with all those equipment |
Answer: | Hello, According to dimensions we've found online - the Mackie ProFx12v2 should fit just fine in the 10U portion of this case. You should have 2U left as well, which can be covered using a rack panel from our Rackworks line of rack accessories. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]. Thank you! |
