YPAO - R.S.C. (Reflected Sound Control) Sound Optimization

It employs Reflected Sound Control to correct early reflections for studio-quality sound. It also provides DSP Effect Normalization, which varies the Cinema DSP parameters according to the reflected sounds.

Dolby Atmos/DTS:X

Compatibility with these amazing sound technologies creates an extraordinary experience. They deliver breathtakingly rich and realistic surround sound, positioning and moving individual sounds to any virtual point in your room, including objects moving overhead. Yamaha Revstar Series

Drawing inspiration from London and Tokyo’s vintage street-racing motorbikes, Japan’s heritage of engineering excellence and the 50-year legacy of Yamaha guitar craftsmanship, every detail of each Revstar model has been carefully engineered to bring out the unique personality of each guitar in the lineup. From the curves and contours of the ground-up body design to the distinctive colors and finishes and custom-wound pickups that perfectly match the guitar’s character, the Revstar collection comprises a diverse lineup of instruments as unique as the guitarists who play them. This is Revstar — meet your other half.

Inspired by raw power and performance, Revstar’s sound is as unique and bold as its aesthetic. Working to evoke a visceral, unbridled power and an individual, organic tone that is made possible only by considering every detail, Yamaha’s engineers chose materials carefully and designed custom pickups to make sure Revstar sounds as stunning as it looks.

Comfort Contoured Body

Revstar is a workhorse through and through, but that doesn’t mean there has been any compromise on comfort and playability. With every contour designed from the ground up to look and feel great, Revstar’s body features a deep belly cut, hidden forearm contour and a newly designed neck joint for outstanding upper fret access. This is a guitar made to be played all night.

Custom Hardware

Inspired by the stripped-down custom Cafe Racer motorbikes popularized on the streets of London in the 1960s, Revstar’s hardware captures the high-performance, individual character of those bikes with a wide range of totally unique, customized hardware. From the unique pickup covers and raw copper scratchplate on the Revstar Professional, to the totally custom floating aluminum tailpiece on the RS502T, each and every component is perfectly calibrated for great performance and unmistakable style.

Custom Wound Pickups

Designed from the ground up, Revstar features specially wound YGD pickups that are perfectly matched to each guitar. More than 50 prototype pickups were tested featuring different combinations of wire, windings, magnets and base plates. Eventually, a spec was settled on for each guitar model and the Revstar pickup series was born.

Dry Switch

Designed especially for Revstar, Yamaha’s proprietary Dry Switch gives you the versatility of a coil split, but with a tone that’s miles ahead. Using a passive filter circuit painstakingly designed to give the perfect frequency response, the Dry Switch filters out low frequencies to give the punch and clarity of a single coil pickup minus the inevitable hum and hollow tone often associated with split humbucking pickups. And because it’s a filter circuit, the Dry Switch works on both humbuckers and P90s for a totally unique tone.

User questions & answers

Question: How long does the batteries last, and can you get electric for it
Answer: Batteries last quite a while - I have not yet exhausted the first pair of batteries I put in. Unfortunately, there is no input for external power, so you're limited to batteries, but AA batteries are cheap, and it's easy to carry spares.
Question: Whats the difference between the red and blue ? - the blue is noticably more expensive. Thanks
Answer: The blue has an XLR jack for a microphone. The red has a quarter inch jack for guitar/bass only.
Question: Are any of the ports USB
Answer: No Sir. It comes with an aux cable, but I suggest that you get at least another one to connect from output to mixer or from mixer to input. also if you plan to use a mic you will need an xlr mic and stand unless you don’t mind holding it.
Question: Are the "chain" outputs individual stereo outputs
Answer: They are not outputs, per se. I would think each must use a stereo cable so that each is both an input and output if it's to chain with another device. I am hoping someone can tell me if I can use one as just an input in addition to the Aux In.
