Musical Instruments: Korg is a well-known manufacturer of musical instruments, and their electronic drum sets are highly regarded in the industry. These sets are designed to replicate the experience of playing acoustic drums while offering the versatility and convenience of electronic instruments.
Electronic Drum Set: A Korg electronic drum set consists of drum pads and modules that generate sound electronically. These drum pads are typically velocity-sensitive, meaning they respond to the force or intensity of your drumming, allowing for dynamic and expressive playing. The electronic drum module produces a wide range of drum sounds and percussion instruments, which can be customized and tweaked to suit your preferences.
Midi Controllers: Korg electronic drum sets often feature MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) connectivity. MIDI connectivity opens up creative possibilities for music producers and electronic musicians.
Studio Recording Equipment: Korg electronic drum sets are commonly used in recording studios as part of the studio recording equipment setup. They offer a reliable and consistent source of drum sounds, which can be recorded and mixed with other instruments and tracks to create professional music recordings.

Musicians and producers can connect these drum sets to their computers for recording, editing, and producing music digitally. This integration is crucial for modern music production and electronic music genres.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this connect to a power amp and if so how is the sound quality |
Answer: | Yes it can be connected to a power amp...and the sound quality is really good. |
Question: | Do you use the Headphone output to connect it to a power amp |
Answer: | I did , the unit is pretty bad, to sensitive, and all over the place , cheap sounding also, it did work through a amp / pa , but was unworthy of music |
Question: | Can this produce good acoustic drum set sound |
Answer: | Yes, it does. It doesn't replace a real drum set however. You have to attach it to several items to find the ones that sound the best.Definitely worth the money! |
Question: | What is included on the box, should i buy power sources and microphones apart? Thanks |
Answer: | The box doesn't include power source. It comes with batteries. But you might wanna buy a source. The box include 3 microphones that work for the 3 inputs. You don't need another microphone. The box also include 1 pedal. But have another pedal input for the open/closed hihat, double bass and other extra sounds. So you should also buy an extra pedal. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How much space is required to set this kit up comfortably for a young player (10)? 3 ft x 3 ft.? 4 x 4? Something in between. And please, I understand |
Answer: | Give yourself about 6’ by 6’ to be sure you or your kid are comfortable... |
Question: | Will this work with the video game Rock Band |
Answer: | For Xbox One and Rock Band 4 you will need an Xbox 360 MIDI adapter and a PDP Wired Legacy Adapter, the latter of which is about $700 due to its rarity. For Xbox 360 and Rock Band 1-3, you just need the MIDI adapter mentioned previously. The MIDI out on the drums plugs into the MIDI in on the adapter, the adapter plugs into the Xbox (or PDP wired legacy adapter for Xbox One) via USB, and then you set specific MIDI notes to the pads via the Alesis module or use a pre-existing setup that works. |
Question: | What kind of acessories do I have to buy to have the set operational? I mean cables, amp and things like this |
Answer: | Throne (drum seat), pair of headphones with 1/4" jack or more likely a normal pair of 1/8" headphones + an 1/8" to 1/4" adapter (less than $10 on Amazon. Since this has seperate L and R outputs, I also got a dual L/R 1/4" to single 1/8" steareo adapter to ensure it plays in both ears. Also, I would highly suggest an amp whether or not you plan on using headphones. This thing is very low power and sound is very soft with headohones--plug kit into amp and headphones into amp headphone output. |
Question: | I cannot place the new model side-by-side and compare. What’s the difference between them |
Answer: | Alesis support here! The only difference between the Nitro Kit and Nitro Mesh Kit is that the Nitro Mesh Kit includes mesh heads, which provide both a more realistic feel to playing acoustic drums, and it also allows for softer sounding hits. If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me directly at [email protected]. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it come with a stool |
Answer: | No...it does not come with a stool |
Question: | Does this work with the Alesis Nitro drum brain |
Answer: | Hi, Alesis support here! The kick pad and hi-hat supplied with our Turbo Mesh Kit are not compatible with the Nitro module. For further support on this subject, please feel free to contact us directly - [email protected] |
Question: | Will i be able to use this product with with garageband on macos |
Answer: | I cannot get the Turbo Mesh kit hi-hat pedal to work with Garageband. I have contacted Alesis tech support to no avail. When I file a ticket, I get an email a day or so later stating that the case has been closed asking how my service was. In Garageband, it recognizes when I press the pedal, but only momentarily. If I strike the hi-hat with the pedal open and then close it, the cymbal will be choked, but only momentarily at the initial pedal depression. After that, the hi-hat remains open. I have searched the internet for solutions to no avail, either. All of the other drums trigger correctly. |
Question: | Can they be played left handed |
Answer: | Hi, Alesis support here! Yes of course! When assembling our Turbo Mesh Kit, this can on configured for a left handed player. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can i plug this into a recording program? such as presonus/studio one and be able to lay tracks |
Answer: | Yes. Any product with a usb out and midi advertised allows you to connect and use it with any major recording program (DAW software) on the market today - generally most OS (Windows, Mac, Linux) these days will work out of the box without installing drivers. It will translate trigger and pressure response into midi signals and whatever drum kit or other instrument patch you wish to hook into in your software will be recognized with it. Just be aware that with most midi controllers you will be manually programming which pads correspond to which instrument notes in software - they often don't work out of the box perfectly without a good deal of tinkering to make each pad correspond to the specific drum you want. But there are many guides online on how to do this. |
Question: | does this kit come with sticks |
Answer: | Yes it does come with a set of sticks |
Question: | I'm an adult that is thinking about picking up the drums but I have almost no experience with them at all. Would this kit be a good place to start? How applicable would the progress I make be to a real drum set? Unfortunately, I live in an apartment and a real drum set isn't an option presently |
Answer: | This is a great set. Sounds like my $1500 electronic drum set on my keyboard amp or headphones. You'll want to get really good headphones, but this is a great system to start on. I had to make a stand to anchor the foot pedals. And even then, the high hat and kicker don't fire every time. But I felt I got my money's worth. I've since upgraded to a Yamaha dtx-562. But that cost about ten times as much. Have fun! :-) |
Question: | Will this make me be able to play exactly like Neil Peart? Or do I have to spend more on a better kit |
Answer: | Yes, this drum kit will make you better than Neil Peart. This kit is one thousand times better than any kit on the market. Beware however; if you want to play as good as Keith Moon, you must drink several bottles of booze and consume mass quantities of pills. |

Question: | Would this be good for an adult to learn drums if they dont have space for full sized kit |
Answer: | Alesis support here! Since this isn't set up like your typical drum kit, getting used to the feel of a full drum kit wouldn't be possible with the CompactKit 4, but this product is excellent for practicing your timing as a drummer, as well as getting familiar with playing patterns. If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me directly at [email protected]. |
Question: | Which would be best for an 8 year old? The 4 top or 7 top |
Answer: | Hi Jessica,Alesis support here. The 4 top would be good for someone trying to learn the bare basics, but the 7 top may be a lot more useful for an 8 year old who may be adamant about practicing and learning drums. The 7 top would make transitioning to a full drum kit easier. I hope this helps, but if you have any other questions, please feel free to email me directly at [email protected]. |
Question: | does this have a headphone jack |
Answer: | Alesis support here! There is a headphone port right on the CompactKit. If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me directly at [email protected]. |

Welcome to an infinitely expanding world of sound-design. Joining volca kick and beats as the third, and most unique, drum synth in the volca lineup. The volca series is all about unique sound. Whether it's analog, PCM, or FM, the volca series puts unique sounds into an accessible platform. And now, the series is joined by a new rhythm machine that brings yet another sonic character. It's the volca drum digital percussion synthesizer. Based on a simple trigger waveform, wave folder and overdrive are used to add overtones and distortion, and then a waveguide resonator effect brings the sound to life. The six-part DSP synth engine was designed with a completely different philosophy than conventional drum machines, and generates a wide range of unexpectedly different sounds. And of course, you can play those sounds from the volca-style sequencer. Adding these distinctive sounds to your rhythms will revolutionarily transform your performances and productions.
A wide range of sound variation: Digital percussion synth with a 6-part x 2-layer structure. The term "digital" typically brings to mind sounds that are based on PCM-sampled bass drum, snare drum, or cymbal, but the volca drum creates its drum sounds by DSP-powered analog modeling. Oscillator waveforms such as sine wave, sawtooth wave, and noise are provided. By applying various changes to these waveforms, you can create a wide variety of percussion sounds that range from realistic to idiosyncratic, and are not limited only to drums. The six parts each have two layers, and do not impose any rules or re

User questions & answers
Question: | How many instrument sounds does it have |
Answer: | Not sure about how many instruments, but you can almost get an infinite variety of sounds. I got dexed and I downloaded a lot of patches with it, and it's awesome... |
Question: | Any idea if the power supply included will work with this daisey chain? https://www.amazon.com/kvgear-daisy-chain-splitter-power/dp/b07fxv2nx |
Answer: | My volca bass came with a KA-350 power supply, which is the model referenced to use with this daisy chain. So, I would imagine that yes it would work, but I have no first hand experience with it. Good luck! |
Question: | Does any of the Volca synths allow you to record live sounds or to save sounds from an external source so you can later use them within a sequence |
Answer: | can't save anything. live use only |
Question: | how would you recommend i connect this to ableton live 9 on my laptop |
Answer: | you can use a USB to MIDI convertor to connect it to your computer. Amazon sells a relatively cheap yet reliable product which i use. https://www.amazon.com/VicTsing-Cable-Converter-Keyboard-Adapter/dp/B00ACGMOA6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1507926765&sr=8-1&keywords=midi+to+usb+converter How to use it with abelton though is something that'd require someone with a little more knowledge of the program. I normally connect my VOLCA sample to my computer and record things via audacity which I then import into fruity loops but that is just my own personal workflow. I'm sure it is possible to connect the volva sample and operate it in abelton but without knowing what you are trying to do with it I cannot provide anymore insight |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is there a way to mount this to a mic stand? Will it fit in a mic stand tablet holder |
Answer: | Best to use with a snare drum stand. You could probably buy some adapters to mount top of drum stand to mic stand. Where there is a well there is a way! |
Question: | is this the newest edition, latest |
Answer: | Yes this is the latest Wavedrum with 150 presets . 100 sounds from the original plus another 50 . Its amazing with some real good sounds. |
Question: | Does this unit also run on batteries? And is it velocity sensative |
Answer: | Greetings, This device comes with a power supply that plugs into AC power. You could easily power it with a battery if you created such a device but it will be on your ingenuity. As far as the velocity sensitivity, nothing compares. It has a trigger under the head, a trigger under the rim, a pressure sensor and a microphone to pick up head noise like brushes or mallets. It then translates this all into some really great (and many not so great) algorithms that interpret the input as a particular sound. I love it as a hand-drumming device but playing it with sticks opens a whole new world. The programming is less than intuitive and the readout is something from the 1990's. No one gives you anything less than an alpha-numeric readout today . . . except Korg. As I bought mine from Japan for less than $400.00 with shipping, I cannot complain. You should try it before you buy it. I felt ripped-off at first, until I realized the intuitive power of the device. I would not part with it now without a fight. I hope this helps. Realive this is one drum - one preset, regardless of the tonal complexity of that preset. Buy an original HandSonic from Roland if you want a drum set in a bag, so to speak.Respectfully - Baran |

Question: | Does this have or any one figure how to do 3/4 time or 6/8 time? or is it based strictly on |
Answer: | I've never managed to get 3/4 or 6/8 out of the unit and I've tried. |
Question: | Is the power cord included |
Answer: | No |
Question: | Can I plug it into my amp |
Answer: | Yes, William, you can plug it into your amp. There's a headphone output on the back, a miniature jack, so you'll need to get an adapter to 1/4 inch phone jack for your guitar amp input, and off you go, dude. |
Question: | What cable do I need , my amp takes |
Answer: | What I like about this thing is it has a decent internal speaker so you don't necessarily need to plug it into an amp. The korg uses a 1/8" jack for the headphone/line-out. To plug the device into your guitar amp, I use a 1/8" cable to a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter. There are two 1/4 jacks on the back of the KR mini, but these are designated for the optional foot switches. As for the other answer, I'm hoping he maybe knows something that I don't. |

User questions & answers
Question: | does it come with a power supply |
Answer: | Yes it does. It has USB connectivity and can be used as a midi controller. However there are no mod/pitch wheels. |
Question: | Will the digital screen show metronome rate |
Answer: | Yes it does, but it isn’t the best. |
Question: | How many drum patterns can you save? I saw it said 16 different kits, but what about patterns or beats |
Answer: | Absolutely it can. It does have a 1/4” out. |
Question: | how sensitive is the pitch control? by semitone, or other? I'd like to microtune; might be accomplished with mod but it'd be nice if with pitch itself |
Answer: | I don’t know if I’ve just been lucky with mine but I have not experienced dropped notes (unless I accidentally missed the key.) You do have to play a tad more heavy handed but I’m very happy with mine. |

The Korg MA1 Digital Metronome is a compact metronome that solidly covers all the basics with a broad tempo range and a rich variety of beats and rhythm patterns. The MA1 metronome also shows the beat in an innovative way that makes practicing easier. With stylish design and reliable functionality, this is an indispensible rhythm training aide for any musician. With the Beat-Counting display, the number of triangular icons in the display indicates the specified beat. On each beat, the icon color changes (moving from left to right), indicating the current beat of the measure in a way that's intuitively clear. This provides visual cues as to when measures will change a helpful advance over metronomes that provide only an audible indication. The tempo of the Korg MA1 can be set using one of three methods: increase or decrease the tempo using the standard increments familiar from a mechanical metronome (pendulum steps); increase or decrease the tempo in single-step increments over the full range of 30-252 (full steps), or use the Tap Tempo function to enter the tempo by pressing the switch in time with the music. Practice a wide variety of songs by specifying any beat count from 1 to 9, and choose any one of the eight rhythm types: quarter notes, eighth notes, triplets (straight triplets, triplets with inner beat omitted, triplets with the third beat omitted), and sixteenth notes (quadruplets, quadruplets with middle beats omitted, quadruplets with the third and fourth beats omitted). Sound Out mode on the MA1 metronome produces a reference pitch (selectable over an octave C4-B4) that you can use when tuning nearly any instrument. The frequency of the A4 reference pitch (calibration) can be adjusted in 1 Hz steps over the broad range of 410 Hz to 480 Hz. The MA1 metronome is designed for long battery life, with continuous operation of approximately 70 hours when using zinc-carbon batteries, or approximately 290 hours when using alkaline batteries.
- Innovative "Beat Counting" display clearly shows: Number of Beats / Current Beat / Beats Remaining
- Tempo (30 to 252 BPM) can be set three ways: Full Steps / Pendulum Steps / Tap Tempo button
- 9 Beats and 8 Patterns offer rhythmic diversity; Full octave (C4-B4) of reference tuning pitches
- Headphone jack with adjustable volume; Fold-out leg for easy viewing
- Memory backup saves your settings; Auto power-off preserves battery life

Question: | does it come with a ableton live lite code? wich softwares are included in the bundle |
Answer: | It includes Ableton Live (not lite) but not free it's a $50 discount, but despise that the free software package is amazing. Bluetooth drivers for Mac, Windows and iOS Propellerhead Reason Lite, KORG Gadget (Mac and iOS only),KORG Collection - M1 Le ,UVI Digital Synsations , AAS Ultra Analog Session, AAS Strum Acoustic Session, AAS Lounge Lizard Session, Melodics 40 free lesson, Skoove free 1 month trial of Skoove Premium, KORG Module (iOS) |
Question: | Will this support reaper on a windows 10 pc |
Answer: | Yes I havec the nanoKontrol Studio and I use it with Reaper 5 and now Reaper 6, my DAW of choice. If you run into issues, look at this page as sometimes a KORG product will appear not to work but that is because it must be assigned by Windows as a midi port between 0 and 9. https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/articles/115004269166-Windows-is-unable-to-recognize-a-USB-MIDI-device- |
Question: | Can these be daisy chained together in the daw to allow for control of additional channels in increasing groups of eight? like 2 for 16 channels etc |
Answer: | There's only one USB port on the unit so you couldn't physically connect two or more together (i.e., there no IN/OUT or MIDI ports). I guess it might be possible via bluetooth in the DAW, but the quick start guide doesn't give any indication of how to do it. You can use the scene buttons to switch between groups of 8 channels. But I realize that's not the same as have 16 or 24 channels at your finger tips. Good luck. |
Question: | Will it function wirelessly (especially the transport) without any additional software installs |
Answer: | Hi, yes it works without any additional installation of any software. You will need to pair it when you turn it on, and depending on what else you have paired already may require you do it each time. If you can use it with a device that you don't already have Bluetooth pairing on that would be best. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you |
