User questions & answers
Question: | Can you connect a guitar and a microphone at same time to this unit |
Answer: | Yes....but...the 2nd input is for iPod/ MP3 player, so if the mic jack is guitar size, you will need an adapter that fits that input. There is only 1 guitar channel with volume controls, so the mic input would need a separate external volume controller. When I tried it, I did not get good mic volume. I tried a Y input, but only got sound from the mic, not the guitar. |
Question: | Is there a head microphone that you would recommend for this Cube? I am trying to find something for my son so he can sing and play guitar |
Answer: | SHURE HEADSET MIC WOULD BE PERFECT |
Question: | can you use headphones with this amp |
Answer: | Yes. There is a 1/8” output on the back of the amp. |
Question: | Is power adapter included |
Answer: | It was included with the one I purchased. |

Question: | battery life |
Answer: | Don't make it harder than it should be. Just put in 6 AA Energizer batteries for peat sake. They last a long time |
Question: | What if it gets caught out in the rain? is it waterproof |
Answer: | It's not waterproof. Roland sells a cover to use on this amp when you get caught out in the rain. The cover was really expensive, and I don't think I'd want to try it in a heavy downpour. |
Question: | Why product specs don't mention it is 5 watts per channel or total 5 watts |
Answer: | Hi, It is 5 watts total. 2.5 watts per channel. |
Question: | hi! This amplifier can it works without batteries? I mean, connected directly to the electricity |
Answer: | Yes, and it does come with a power supply. I have this same unit at home and my daughter does not even realize that you can use batteries. This was the most popular amplifier I saw being used by street performers throughout France this past summer. I was amazed that everyone used them and they sounded great. |

Question: | I assume this is a |
Answer: | I own a Roland AC-60. It has two 6 1/2" speakers rated at 30 watts each in stereo. It has a 1/4" mono jack out for a sub woofer. |
Question: | Decibel output |
Answer: | never measured Db... I use it for a stage amp feeding it to a house sound system..decibels would not be as high as large amp |
Question: | can a second instrument be run into it |
Answer: | It does have two channels #1 takes XLR and 1/4 #2 takes 1/4 .The best part of the amp is to use voice in the vocal channel and the guitar in the second channel. In this config the voice is very very clear and the guitar sound pretty good as well. I would say excellent quality at moderate volume 25 ft in front. Also excellent quality to record . Two guitars and no vocals to me would be a problem as both would suffer but certainly doable at low volume in a small room . Hope that helps. The Battery packs unfortunately deliver about 85% power which is too bad but they do last surprisingly long. I do put a charged set in before a new night. |
Question: | Is it bivolt (110-220V |
Answer: | No this is strictly "hardwired" into the case, as a US 3-prong (grounded) 110 volt. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Anything of same quality but smaller in size? Bought one without realizing the size and weight. Looking for something for practice and jamup with |
Answer: | Yes, you can use a mic with this amp. |
Question: | How is the driver improved? is it a servo speaker? im interested in response and snr |
Answer: | Yes, the adapter has about a 4-6 foot long AC power plug, and about 10 feet of low voltage DC cable to the speaker cabinet. I bought two matching units, one for each channel of my Nord Grand piano. I love them! At about 25% power to the amps, gain way down on the Nord, it sounds so much like a big grand harp/string piano. Can shut my eyes and am sitting behind my mother's Kimball from my childhood... lots of room/power left to play to a bigger venue also. |
Question: | Is this a Stereo amp |
Answer: | The AMP has three pre-amps, gains and input jacks, however it only has one power amp/master output, so it would "squish" Stereo into mono. I bought two of these amps and use them with a Nord Stage Grand, one left, one right channel. At approximately 25% of full power with the two amps, it is at least as loud as an acoustic string/harp Grand like a Kimball or White. If you have a stereo instrument, like a piano, best to get two amps and use them as a pair if you want the spacial quality of stereo, like in acoustic performance settings. If you are only looking for a monitor amp and intend to feed into a large PA, then one might work fine. |
Question: | Is the 100W amp loud enough for live rock-n-roll (keys, guitar, bass, drums, vox) in small to medium sized clubs |
Answer: | Weighs around 50LB Approx 2' X 2' X 1.5' makes it easy to travel with. |

Question: | Can I use the Cube with a mic that requires phantom power or do I need to get an adapter |
Answer: | Yes just buy a Pantom power box. They are cheap. I think I paid $24 for one that works great. |
Question: | Is this loud anough for busking? Wether your using a classical guitar or playing Blues Rock or Black Sabbath with a electric guitar |
Answer: | I use a classical guitar a jazz guitar and a fender. 50 watts is loud. I also use a rythmn machine and my voice comes out nice. |
Question: | Can you buy additional battery back plate to hold spare pack |
Answer: | I would contact Roland directly in regards to this. |
Question: | How would this handle a fender bass vi |
Answer: | I play a five string Fretless acoustic bass through it and as long as you are realistic about the low end capabilities, you are fine...I would never crank the gain on my active bass and try to blast at the peak volume, the speakers would die. A more expensive option would be the Phil jones briefcase, which doesn't come with a battery, but you can buy and install one to it. Short answer, yes if you are careful, if you have the money look into the Phil Jones Briefcase |
