13 best wireless bass systems
Wireless bass systems are components used in music performance and recording setups to transmit bass guitar signals wirelessly. These systems are related to wireless microphone transmitters and receivers, as they share similar wireless technology principles. Here's what you should know about wireless bass systems:
Wireless Transmitter and Receiver: A wireless bass system typically consists of two main components: a wireless transmitter and a wireless receiver. The transmitter is connected to the bass guitar, and the receiver is connected to an amplifier, mixer, or recording equipment.
Wireless Technology: These systems use radio frequency (RF) technology to transmit audio signals from the bass guitar to the receiver wirelessly. They operate on specific frequency bands and channels to avoid interference with other wireless devices.
Range: The range of a wireless bass system can vary depending on the model and the operating environment. Some systems offer a range of several hundred feet, allowing musicians to move around the stage without being tethered by cables.
Audio Quality: Modern wireless bass systems are designed to provide high-quality audio transmission with minimal latency (delay). High-quality systems ensure that the bass guitar's tone and nuances are faithfully reproduced.
Frequency Bands: Wireless bass systems typically operate in various frequency bands, including the UHF (Ultra High Frequency) and VHF (Very High Frequency) bands. UHF systems are more popular due to their better performance and reduced interference.
Channel Selection: To avoid interference, many wireless bass systems offer multiple channels within their operating frequency band. Users can select a clean channel to ensure a clear and reliable signal.
Battery Life: Both the transmitter and receiver are powered by batteries. The battery life can vary, so it's essential to monitor and replace batteries as needed, especially during live performances.
Compatibility: Wireless bass systems should be compatible with your bass guitar's output and the input of your amplifier or mixing equipment. They often come with various cable adapters to ensure compatibility with different gear.
Antennas: Some wireless systems feature external antennas on both the transmitter and receiver to improve signal strength and range.
Interference Management: Interference from other wireless devices or sources can affect the performance of wireless bass systems.Proper setup and coordination of frequencies can help mitigate interference issues.
Diversity Reception: Some high-end wireless systems use diversity reception technology, which employs multiple antennas to improve signal reliability by selecting the best signal path automatically.
Wireless bass systems offer the convenience of cable-free performance and recording, making them popular choices for musicians and audio engineers. When selecting a wireless bass system, consider factors such as range, audio quality, battery life, and compatibility with your existing equipment to ensure it meets your specific needs for live performances or studio recording.

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this transmitter fit into the surface plug on an Ibanez SR |
Answer: | It also work with a 9V battery , Model: 6F22 |
Question: | Does it have a headphone jack so that it can be used without an amp for practice |
Answer: | With guitars this short, you're better off tuning it higher. It'll maintain string tension better from my understanding. I think it's usually a fourth higher. Like having a capo at the 5th fret of a standard guitar. So the 1 and 6 strings are tuned to A rather than E. |
Question: | Would two sets of these work for a guitar>pedal board> amp? To make a fully wire less rig |
Answer: | Depends on his height. If he’s a bit small or standard height for his age, it will be great. If he’s big for his age, it might be s gamble. |
Question: | How natural does this sound on a fine acoustic guitar using a piezzo/preamped pickup like fishman or lr baggs |
Answer: | It dose not have a truss rod |

User questions & answers
Question: | can these be used in tandem with another set as in one transmitter guitar 2 foot pedal receiver out foot pedal transmitter to amplifier receiver |
Answer: | no |
Question: | How long does it take to charge and then how long does the battery last for? I read it's 5 hours one place and 7 hours somewhere else |
Answer: | I play an Ibanez 5 string bass. When the transmitter stays in place and you find the sweet spot of plugging it into the guitar, it works fine. The problem I am having is mainly caused by gravity and the plug not fitting overly tight to keep the transmitter in place. When you move around, the transmitter can loose good connection. Other than that, for the money, it is a decent piece of equipment. More in the prosumer category. |
Question: | it says "not fit for active pickup" does that mean it only works with passive pockups? why would that matter |
Answer: | Anything you would normally plug in with your cable this is the replacement to make it wireless. |
Question: | Will these help me convince my wife I need another bass |
Answer: | I just plug the usb mini into it and it charges up. Pretty simple. Plug n play |

User questions & answers
Question: | Csn i use with acoustic with battery powered preamps |
Answer: | Yes, I have used this with several strats and it works great. |
Question: | Can't I use a 1/8 adaptor and plug into my phone to play music thru my amplifier |
Answer: | It is quite poor for me. I wouldn't trust it for more than 45 minutes to an hour. Usually it's the transmitter that powers out on me. I suspect they cheap out on the batteries and so they don't retain their longevity. |
Question: | Are there any issues with leaving them plugged in on a rack w/usb ports so i never need to remember to charge them |
Answer: | yes |
Question: | Q: How many transmitters can one receiver support? If more than one, can I buy the transmitters separately |
Answer: | We have two pastors using wireless microphones and there is no problem with interference. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you use more than 2 of these on same stage |
Answer: | I have an acoustic with active pickups and it works fine. Works fine on my passive electric pickups too. |
Question: | Can I use this from mixer to powered speakers for audio and live voice? Wanna get rid of cables to speakers |
Answer: | Never tried that before and not sure it will work, but worth a try. |
Question: | Do they work with a guitar with active pickups |
Answer: | We do not suggest to leave them in charging too long, because this will harm the battery, and also there is a safety risk as always. Actually speaking, there is power indicator LED lights on the back side, which will remind you when it is in lower power and need charging, or it is full and no need charging any more, so that you will not forget to charge them, or over-charging them. |
Question: | can you use 4 sets of these at same time? when we try more than 3 we get interference |
Answer: | The manual shows an example of 1 receiver and 4 guitar pedals (w/transmitter), implying a practical multi transmitter setup. If 1 receiver is used, and multiple transmitters are connected on the same channel (ex, 1 bass, 1 uke, 1 violin all on channel 3) as long as they're not used simultaneously, would they function properly? |

User questions & answers
Question: | Have you ever noticed a bit of static/ noise that fades when you first strike a note after a few moments of silence |
Answer: | If Ibanez SR300 has 6.35mm jack, our GWS-8 guitar wireless can be applied to this guitar!Thank you for supporting our wireless guitar! |
Question: | This wireless guitar systems sometimes makes strange noises while in use |
Answer: | Dear Freind, Thank you for your friendly inquiry about Getaria wireless guitar system. What a shame! There is no 3.5 audio jack on the wireless guitar transmitter side, so you can't plug any headphone jack into the Getaria wireless guitar system, we suggest you a set of Getaria wireless guitar transmitter and receiver in this situation. |
Question: | I found my wireless guitar systems cannot be charged properly |
Answer: | Yes, this will work. You can put a pair of these anywhere you would use a signal cable. I chained 3 pair to see if they would flake out and they did fine. Pair the one from the guitar to the pedal board, then pair the one from the pedal board to the amp. You can also pair the one from the pedal board to the amp and a third from the amp line out to the mixer. Granted this is not how you would usually go from the amp to the mixer, but it works. Do not plug it into anything that would normally take a speaker wire. That will fry it as there is amperage on the line. |
Question: | Can 2 transmitters send to one receiver |
Answer: | I play nylon guitars exclusively...my best is a Amin Hannika Torres with no amplification, so I use that as a standard. I have a Gary Zimnicki with a non-amplified piezo that goes direct to my AER60. It sounds the same whether I use a high quality cable of the Getaria in a concert/club setting; in the studio there is a slight drop-off that most listeners could not discern. I also use a 2002 Ramirez a/e with a Fishman preamp and piezo (i never use the microphone component); I cannot tell the difference between cable or Getaria mainly because the preamp changes the clear acoustic quality - not bad or good, just not like an unamplified guitar. As an aside, I have a Taylor with espresso system, an L5 that I put P90s on, and a 5620 Gretsch with black top histones, and on all of them the Gertaria is great, no hum, no noise, no interference. But the big thing for me in all settings - live, studio, rehearse, practice - is have NO cord to tangle, step on or buzz. I don't give recommendations, but I bought 2 sets of these to have while one is charging, and will buy them again if these break. I've used them for about 4 months. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I am trying to decide between this unit and the glxd14 style receiver. with the antenna differences on the receiver do they both perform equally well |
Answer: | I have both. I use the glxd14 for vocal mics, and glxd16 in my pedal board. I believe they both have twin antennas, but the 14 are movable. Bottom line is form factor convenience, not performance. I have used both for my bass, and both for vocal mics in different situations. I have not noticed a difference in reception or audio performance. One note is that the 14 has both a 1/4" unbalanced and XLR balanced output, the 16 only has unbalanced 1/4". If you need to run xlr direct to a mixing board, maybe the 16 will be better. It would sort of be like having a DI box as well as driving an amp, albeit no ground lift. (I am assuming you play and instrument because you are looking at the body pack model, as well) Good luck! |
Question: | It work whit a SLX1 transmitter |
Answer: | It will not. |
Question: | this or the glxd |
Answer: | If you have an instrument, THIS. If you are a singer, the 14. Same tech, different package. |
Question: | Does it work for bassist |
Answer: | Hello, Yes, this will work for bass guitar. If this was helpful, please consider purchasing from us (pixelproaudio on Amazon). We can help with support after the sale as well. We have it in stock and ready to ship. - Pixel Pro Audio |

Relay G50 12-channel wireless system redefines the wireless experience for guitarists and bassists. Its superior sound, professional dependability and refreshing simplicity are simply unavailable from other wireless systems.
Superior Sound
Relay G50 provides a pure signal. Its clarity rivals that of the highest-quality guitar cables. Guitars get a beautiful high-end sparkle and basses get a thunderous low-end punch, even at distances of up to 200 feet. Traditional wireless systems compromise their sound by rolling-off crucial high- and low-end frequencies and compressing their signals. Relay G50 offers superior sound with full bandwidth and zero compression.
Professional Dependability
Relay G50 broadcasts over the 2.4GHz band, which keeps its signal free from many kinds of interference. Traditional wireless systems, on the other hand, are susceptible to dropouts, static and many other kinds of interference. For added security, Relay G50 employs exclusive signal protection technology--it simultaneously broadcasts encrypted data streams to multiple antennas. Refreshing Simplicity Relay G50 is a low-profile system that's easy to use. The lightweight transmitter remains out of the way of your performance and its LCD displays channel number and battery life. The rugged metal receiver offers easy-to-read LEDs that display power, status and battery life. Its dual 1/4-inch outputs make it an easy addition to your pedal board.
![]() Receiver features side-mounted 1/4-inch ins and outs and internal antennas, making it easy to add to a pedal board. |
Attached to Your Guitar Cable?
For players attached to cables, adopting a wireless system introduces many questions: What will it feel like? Will it change my sound? Relay G50 sounds just like a cable, but it also sounds just like your cable. Relay G50 features EQ settings that match the frequency responses of typical guitar cables.
VWT
Exclusive VWT (Virtual Wire Transmission) technology ensures full-range frequency response, excellent transient response, and wide dynamic range--just like a high-quality guitar cable.
Superior specs
Relay digital wireless systems produce full-range tones with 10Hz-20kHz frequency response, exceedingly low noise with up to 120dB dynamic range, and studio-quality resolution with 24-bit A/D conversion. (Comparably priced analog wireless systems offer 50Hz-15kHz frequency response and >90dB dynamic range. This wreaks havoc on your tone, especially if you use a high-gain amp.)
Cable tone simulation
Using a cable and a wireless system? Now you can switch back and forth without having to adjust the tone settings on your amplifier. Relay digital wireless systems feature a Cable Tone Simulator, which lets you match the sound of your Relay to the sound of your cable.
Compander-Free
Companders squash your signal and ruin your tone. Analog wireless systems require companders but Relay wireless systems do not. Remaining compander-free enables Relay to deliver a beautiful high-end sparkle, thunderous low-end punch, and touch response that analog wireless systems simply cannot deliver.
Remaining compander-free gives better sound than analog wireless systems.
DCL
Exclusive DCL (Digital Channel Lock) technology automatically locks out all sources of interference. The only sound that will come out of your amplifier is you - not static, not Top 40 radio, just you. Guaranteed.
2.4GHz broadcast
The best way to avoid interference? Don't get in its way. Relay digital wireless systems broadcast in the 2.4GHz band, which successfully avoids interference caused by TV stations, public safety broadcasts, cell phone towers, and other high-powered sources.
What about WiFi?
Worried about interference caused by 2.4GHz WiFi networks and Bluetooth® devices? Don't be. Relay digital wireless systems use uniquely addressed and encoded digital transmission technology. Your tone will make it from your transmitter to your receiver free of interference.

Full quality, no matter what
Whether you're playing two feet from your Relay or at the edge of its range, you get the same great specs: full frequency response, superior dynamic range, cable-inspired dependability, and 24-bit A/D conversion.
All channels, all the time
All channels in all Relay digital wireless systems work all the time. Too good to be true? Maybe for an analog wireless system. Relay digital wireless systems are different. There's no website to reference, and no need to scan for open channels.
