User questions & answers
Question: | There is a jack in the back, but can I play normal mobile inside of the sound (the sound of songs and videos |
Answer: | You can plug a headphone into it and listen to your mobile device. You cannot hear when you are recording with the mic, to check sound levels, you have to play it back when you are done recording. |
Question: | will this work on an iphone |
Answer: | I'm not certain, I have a "7" and it works fine on my iPhone. The specific detail is the distance between the insert that goes into the headphone opening...does the 8+ have a headphone jack? If so it will likely work. |
Question: | I have a samsung galaxy s8 and i like to video loud live concerts. will this microphone get me better audio results in loud situations |
Answer: | My guess is without being able to control the gain (lowering the input level) you will likely get clipping. You need a way to monitor the levels and lower if necessary. It is though all relevant to the volume levels at the concerts and how close you are to the speaker. |
Question: | Will this work on my iphone 6 with the lifeproof case? this case needs an adapter to plug in the headphones so can't mount to case. please help |
Answer: | Get a smartphone holder mount (looks like a selfie stick holder that holds the phone) and glue a cold shoe mount to it, then you will able to attach the mic to your phone... I'm not sure about your adapter headphone problem |

User questions & answers
Question: | does this mic record stereo sound or just mono? and does it let the onboard mic record as well or not |
Answer: | The microphone is a dual mono microphone and thus not stereo, unless you get into the very expensive stereo microphones I think you'll be pleased with the frequency response and quality. Once plugged in, the on-board microphone is cancelled out. |
Question: | Can you attach this to a boom pole |
Answer: | I believe rode sells a boom pole for this mic. You will need an extension cable as well to plug it in. |
Question: | Does this work with Canon 70d? Thanks |
Answer: | Yes it does I have the rode mic pro lyre version and it works perfectly I will say if you can afford the pro get it it cause this relies on the power of the camera so the sound isn't as good as the pro |
Question: | Should I get a used Rode Video Mic Shotgun Microphone or The rode Videomic go? assume I can't go far over 100$ in budget |
Answer: | Best qualities of the Videomic Go: Small, no battery (powered from the camera), easy to transport. Best qualities of the Rode Videomic over the Videomic Go: Battery powered (better range), high pass filter, PAD switch (for reducing sensitivity on louder recordings). Not having a battery can be nice (using the GO), but the camera you use has to be able to power over the 1/8" mic input. The high pass filter and PAD switch are nice on the Videomic, but not always necessary. If you don't think you'll need them, then the Videomic GO is the way to go. |

User questions & answers
Question: | what cable do i need to connect this to a sony ax |
Answer: | XLR female connector to 3.5mm male connector |
Question: | will the rhode interview mic fit with to the canon 70d and if so what extra piece will i need to get it to fit |
Answer: | I don't have a Canon 70D, but I doubt the Rode Reporter Mic will work. It uses an XLR cable and I didn't seen such a connection on the pictures of your camera. I connect my Rode to a Zoom H4N digital recorder. If you could connect a digital recorder to your camera, it might work, but I would think a shotgun mic would work just as well. |
Question: | Can you connect this microphone to an iPhone for Facebook Live stories |
Answer: | This requires xlr inputs. You would need a converter cable. It is possible but not out of the box |
Question: | Would I be able to hook this up to my Canon t3i? And is this good in large crowds/at events? Looking to do interviews at a large outdoors event |
Answer: | It should work great for you. I've used it for interviews in crowds. Just make sure to get the mic 10-12 inches from the person speaking. I wore headphones to make sure I was had the mic close enough. Its a good mic. Although, I do agree with the other answer below, a H4n will get you better sound than using a 1/8 jack adaptor with the mic and the t3i. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it work with Android phone (specifically google pixel). What cable do i need to connect to pixel 2 and 3. Pixel 2 does not have audio jack |
Answer: | yes |
Question: | Does it come with the fur windshield |
Answer: | Although it "could" be used in your trailer, I wouldn't recommend it. These batteries are starter batteries and do not have a lot of capacity. You also need to make sure that the charging system is safe for a lithium battery. Please feel free to contact us to discuss this further (484)652-8010 Thank you, Billet Proof Designs |
Question: | Will this work with other Smartphones besides Apple products |
Answer: | I have started to have the same issue. Don't know the answer. |
Question: | Does this come with the charger |
Answer: | Contrary to what the first answer said, you can charge this battery from 12V. I have the adapter to charge it from a car and it works well. The 110V charger that comes with the battery outputs 13.5V at 6.5A. That's 90W. It charges the battery in about 4 hours. If you can get a solar panel or panels that would output 13.5V, it should work. But the less amperage you have available, the longer it will take to charge the battery. Disclaimer: I haven't tried to do this. YMMV And, BTW, the battery I have has worked well for me. |
