Question:	Hey I have 3 questions. 1 is are these good for large gigs or medium gigs.2 do you need a mixer for this but I know you need an amp.3 reccommend amp
Answer:	I use a YAMAHA EMX 660 Power Mixer. I have four of these and they are in my home recording studio. Sometimes my son will plug them into the guitar amp and they jam. I used them for a large and medium gig, and the amp does help with the clarity. Hope that helps, I'm satisfied with them and the stands are very sturdy.

Answer:	It's not uncommon. Any ambient RF can substantially raise the noise floor for these kinds of speakers. Isolating the power supply from other devices might help, but short of placing the speaker in a faraday cage, you are unlikly to get rid of that hiss.

Answer:	It does not need a battery, but you do need to connect it to an amplifier that has a mic XLR connection. Mostly this would be a separate pre-amp which is then connected to a larger console or amplifier system, though some systems combines both.
Question:	do u need a wire to use this
Answer:	If the official Shure part number SM58-CN is selected, the "CN" means a 25' XLR microphone cable will be included. Other variants include SM58S which is microphone with an on/off switch, SM58-LC which is microphone only with no cable.
Question:	Would this be okay for a 6 yr old? She loves singing and wants a microphone for her birthday
Answer:	There are too many questions to be answered here. Are your speakers powered or non-active? How many mics are you running? Any other systems involved, like instruments, computers, ipods etc? Are you looking for built in EFX? Although my first amp was a Pyle 3000W for $100 and I used a cheap Behringer 4 bus mixer, I have moved on from that purchase. Best advise I can give someone, is to buy a book or video on live sound and mixing, it will save you time, heartaches and maybe even money.

Answer:	I'd like to correct a statement that's been made about the SM-58, which is the most popular, universal "performer's mic," found in every band that can afford it and serving as the White House microphone for heads of state. It's a "dynamic" rather than a "condenser mic," which means it's durable, tough, long-lasting, made to take abuse. But it's not the preferred microphone in the recording studio, which is where the more sensitive, nuanced condenser microphone shines (but don't toss it in a bag and "take it on the road"). Condenser mics require more power than dynamic mics, and that power is called "phantom power," which is found in most mixing boards and in many amps--and in this handy adapter. But you do NOT require Phantom Power for an XLR connection: you require it for a CONDENSER MIC. And since the popular SM58 is a DYNAMIC MIC, the Phantom Power is wasted, a needless add-on. If you want to convert your XLR to USB (or to a phone plug), there are many adapters and cables for $10 that will do the trick You certainly don't need to invest a hundred in the pictured adapter--that's sheer "overkill. It's a bit of a mystery why sellers are showing the SM58 with a Phantom-Powered Adapter for condenser mics. You may be wasting $100 on one or the other of these incompatible devices.

Question:	If i get the xlr to usb for my computer, do i need anything else to record and mix? cables? software
Answer:	Hi, you have to connect this unit to your receiver using 1/4" or XLR cable. Thank you.
Question:	can it be attached to a video camera with a cable
Answer:	The main thing is that his mic is high impedance like a guitar and should be used with instrument inputs with the included cable with th 1/4 phone plug. If you use a typical cable with x!r on both ends into a microphone input which is low impedance, you get a low hum/buzz depending on your digital interface or preamp. Will also work with a guitar amp unlike low impedance mic.
Question:	What is the difference in this SM57-LC and the SM57? I can't seem to find what the LC is about
Answer:	It is packaged with a XLR to 1/4 " cable. Most sound systems will need an XLR male to XLR female commonly referred to as an "XLR cable". The supplied cable can be used with USB/FireWire/Thunderbolt interfaces that have 1/4" inputs or a combo connector. So, yes if you are plugging it into an interface.
Question:	How is it with recording vocals
Answer:	It should work fine for her. It also comes with 15 ft. XLR-F to 1/4" male microphone cable. So you would need to hook into a 1/4" input for microphone.
