14 best nady condenser microphones
Nady Systems is a company that manufactures a variety of audio equipment, including condenser microphones. Condenser microphones are a type of microphone known for their high sensitivity and ability to capture detailed sound. Here's what you should know about Nady condenser microphones:
Condenser Microphone Basics: Condenser microphones, also called capacitor microphones, work by using an electrically charged diaphragm and a backplate to convert sound waves into electrical signals. They are known for their wide frequency response and ability to capture subtle nuances in sound.
Nady Microphones: Nady offers a range of condenser microphones designed for different applications, from studio recording to live performances. Their microphones are generally known for their affordability and decent performance.
Studio Recording: Condenser microphones, including those from Nady, are commonly used in recording studios for capturing vocals, acoustic instruments, and other sound sources with high precision and clarity. They are favored for their ability to capture a broad range of frequencies.
Live Sound: Some Nady condenser microphones are suitable for live sound applications, including stage performances and public speaking events. These microphones may have features like built-in shock mounts to reduce handling noise.
Polar Patterns: Condenser microphones can have different polar patterns, such as cardioid, omnidirectional, or figure-eight. These patterns determine how the microphone picks up sound from different directions.
Phantom Power: Many condenser microphones, including Nady models, require phantom power to operate. Phantom power is typically supplied by an audio interface or mixer and is necessary to charge the microphone's internal capacitor.
Accessories: Nady may offer various microphone accessories, such as shock mounts, pop filters, and foam windshields, to improve the microphone's performance and protect it from unwanted noise.
Affordability: Nady condenser microphones are often considered budget-friendly options, making them accessible to musicians and audio enthusiasts who may be on a tighter budget.
Customer Reviews: When considering a specific Nady condenser microphone model, it's a good practice to read customer reviews and seek recommendations from audio professionals to ensure it meets your specific needs and expectations.
In summary, Nady condenser microphones are part of the company's lineup of audio equipment and offer affordable options for musicians, recording artists, and audio engineers. When choosing a condenser microphone, it's essential to consider factors like intended use, polar pattern, and compatibility with your existing audio setup to ensure it suits your requirements.

User questions & answers
Question: | what kind of mic stand fits the thread of this microphone |
Answer: | standard mic stand. Think of the sm58 mic and the clip that it uses. It has the same threading as the Nady 200. |
Question: | I really like the style but could I record a drum set with it |
Answer: | I use the condenser version of this to mic guitar amps all the time, either would probably be alright on toms and snare, though they are bulky, heavy, and hard to keep out of the way. The drummer would probably hate it. It won't likley have the SPL handling or the frequency response to sound good on the kick drum, either. You would be better to spend the Vocals or guitar amps, definitely, though. |
Question: | what about proximity low gain effect |
Answer: | It isn't as bad as I have observed on most dynamic mics I have used but it isn't non-existent either. The best distance for this mic is about 25-30 cm. At that distance, I get lots of compliments on the quality of sound. Most musician notice how much better it sounds than any dynamic from Shure. |
Question: | Does it have that old syle radio talk show sound |
Answer: | Not exactly. The sound you are looking for is better replicated with a ribbon style microphone, like the Nady RSM 5, more so than a dynamic microphone. Keep in mind that there are several stages of the signal chain to consider after the microphone that contribute critical sound quality changes in reproducing a retro radio talk show sound, such as pre-amplifiers, compressors, and equalizers. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does an XLR female or male plug into the mic itself |
Answer: | Female |
Question: | Is a basemount mic holder included |
Answer: | No it is not. I picked up a generic one from china for $10:50 US and another style with a pop screen for $14:50 for a different type of mic. All had shipping included. |
Question: | Will this work plugged directly into a PC running Audacity |
Answer: | Sam is correct, this microphone has a condenser capsule that will work on as little as 5V phantom power, which nearly every smart device supplies, and most definitely PC's and laptops. |
Question: | How well does it record acoustic drums. I don't have an electric drum set. I have only an acoustic set |
Answer: | Large diaphragm mix wouldn't be good for close positioning record of drums. It could be set farther out and be effective though. . |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be used like a Shure SM91 boundary mic, in a kick drum |

User questions & answers
Question: | If i buy a usb adapter cable, can i plug this microphone into a computer and record directly on computer recording software |
Answer: | No. You will need an audio interface with mic preamp, 48 volt phantom power, and usb output. You can buy usb mics that are ready to plug in and record for as little as $25. Search "USB mic" in Amazon. |
Question: | How well does it record acoustic drums |
Answer: | not entirely well. I would only ever use it for overhead mics on a drum kit, but it sounds kind of thin. |
Question: | How far can I have the mic away from my face for it to hear me |
Answer: | It really depends on a lot of factors. 2 main ones are how loud are you speaking/singing and what environment you’re in. The mic is sensitive. It can pickup your voice quite easily from several feet away. Really depends on what you’re trying to achieve. You can get close with a pop filter and do voice over or back up a foot or so and sing into it/play an instrument. |
Question: | Is it phantom powered or needs a battery? thanks |
Answer: | Phantom powered.. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Im a drummer and i need to start singing backup, will this mic work with the loudness of my drums |
Answer: | I would not recommend this mic. It is an omni and will pick up a LOT of sound bleeding into the mic from the drums. I am also a drummer and use the ATM-73a which is a cardioid mic. This does a much better job of focusing on my vocals |
