10 best mic microphones
Microphones, often referred to as "mics," are essential audio devices used for capturing sound and converting it into electrical signals. They are widely used in various applications, including music production, live performances, recording, broadcasting, and more. Here are some key points about mic microphones:
Types of Microphones: There are several types of microphones available, including dynamic microphones, condenser microphones, ribbon microphones, and more. Dynamic microphones are commonly used for live performances and instrument amplification.
Dynamic Microphones: Dynamic microphones, often simply called "dynamic mics" or "dynamic microphones," are a popular choice for instrument miking. They are known for their durability and ability to handle high sound pressure levels (SPL), making them suitable for loud musical instruments like drums and guitar amplifiers.
Instrument Miking: Mic microphones are frequently used to amplify and capture the sound of musical instruments such as guitars, drums, brass instruments, and string instruments. They are positioned near or on the instrument to capture its sound accurately.
Durability: Dynamic microphones are rugged and sturdy, making them well-suited for the rigors of live performances and the demands of instrument miking. They can withstand rough handling and are less sensitive to moisture and temperature changes compared to condenser microphones.
Directionality: Dynamic microphones are often directional, which means they capture sound primarily from a specific direction. Common directional patterns for dynamic microphones include cardioid, supercardioid, and hypercardioid, each with its unique sound-capturing characteristics.
Sound Quality: Dynamic microphones are known for their warm and robust sound characteristics. They can handle high sound pressure levels without distortion, which is particularly useful for close-miking loud instruments.
Applications: Dynamic mic microphones are commonly used for miking guitar amplifiers, snare drums, bass guitar cabinets, brass instruments, and even vocals in live sound settings. They are also favored for their reliability in stage environments.
Accessories: Microphone accessories such as microphone stands, pop filters, and shock mounts are often used in conjunction with mic microphones to optimize their performance and reduce unwanted noise.
Maintenance: Proper care and maintenance are important to ensure the longevity of mic microphones. Regular cleaning and storage in protective cases can help preserve their performance.
Popular Brands: Various brands manufacture mic microphones, including industry leaders like Shure, Sennheiser, Audio-Technica, and Electro-Voice. These brands offer a wide range of dynamic microphones tailored to different instrument-miking needs.
In summary, mic microphones, particularly dynamic microphones, are essential tools for capturing and amplifying the sound of musical instruments in a variety of settings. They are valued for their durability, reliability, and ability to reproduce the distinct characteristics of different instruments while withstanding high sound pressure levels. Choosing the right microphone for instrument miking depends on the specific instrument, the desired sound, and the application.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you connect multiple mv7 mics to the same computer via usb |
Answer: | It’s maye a ruler and a half. If you purchase it make sure you apply the resin to the bow otherwise you will assume it doesn’t work 😂 my 4 year old loves it |
Question: | Has anyone used this mic with the rode psa1 microphone boom - mainly, is the mic heavy enough |
Answer: | It's very delicate, but it's a real violin. You could start with the Suzuki method and see if the 5 year old likes to play it. If so, you can decide to rent or buy a violin that fits the size of the child as she grows. The price is good as a starter instrument, and the pink color is adorable. |
Question: | Being that this is a condenser mic, how much background noise does it pick up |
Answer: | This is a small child size violin (3-5 years old). It can only be used with formal violin instruction by a violin teacher. The child can play the strings with the bow but it is not easy to play any tune without violin lessons. |
Question: | why is this using micro usb? does this company know about USB type C |
Answer: | This is a real violin perfect size for a 4-5 year old. My granddaughter like many girls, likes pink. She might take Suzuki lessons on it. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you use as a microphone without a computer |
Answer: | Yes, we do ship to Germany, but not from this site. Shipping costs are about $125. Sincerely, Calido Guitars |
Question: | About 1 week ago, I saw this mic for $99 (not on sale) and usually ships 2-4 weeks, and now its $160+. What happened |
Answer: | The GK Pro Negra is made in China. |
Question: | Does it come with a usb cable |
Answer: | Hi Wenda, One end of the strap attaches the the strap button at the bottom/end of the guitar while the other end attaches the the other strap button (assuming the guitar has another strap button). Some acoustic guitars do not have a 2nd strap button and that where the add’l snap on piece can come into play by attaching it under the strings at the headstock and snapped on the other end of the strap/hole. |
Question: | Debating between yeti nano and original yeti, which one is for long term use? i am new in this, not sure if will need to use it for advanced later. tq |
Answer: | Obviously depends on how much you’re playing, but I’ve always got about the same playing life out of most of my strings. If you’re gigging and playing for 10-20 hours each week, you can expect less than 3 months. |

- [Capture Broadcast-Quality Sound] The high sample rate of 192kHz/24Bit and wide frequency response(100Hz-18KHz) precisely reproduce every details of your sound while 16mm large diaphragm offers clean and crisp audio instead of muffled sound. With higher sensitivity than other mics, you`ll be heard louder even in the same recording distance.
- [Block out Disruptive Noise] Due to Cardioid pickup pattern, background noise is screened out while sound sources directly in front of the streaming mic are recorded more focused and full-bodied. With a double-layered pop filter and a foam windscreen, plosive and wind interference would be minimized.
- [Solid Mount to Your Desktop] Reinforced C-clamp creates a more solid connection with your desktop. Moreover, the boom arm is sufficient to hold the weight of microphone but still adjustable with tensioning knobs, so the studio microphone stays exactly where you want it without any unwanted falling.
- [Easily Assemble in 10 Minutes] When you get this all-in-one set of condenser microphone, shock mount, pop filter, desk mount clamp, scissor arm stand, foam mic cover, 2.5M USB cable, you just need 10 minutes to screw every parts in based on the User Manuel.
- [Plug and Play on Most Devices] When plugging this recording microphone into a standard USB 2.0 port, you are ready to go. You no more need to install any additional accessories or software and then you can connect it smoothly with Mac, Windows or any devices with USB port.
User questions & answers
Question: | Can be used to connect straight to a laptop and record with Audacity or need some extra accesory to make it works |
Answer: | The ShurePlus MOTIV Desktop app will recognize and control two MV7’s (or one MV7 and one MV88+, or two MV88+s) at the same time. When two devices are connected, you can click the MV7 icon to flash the LEDs on the panel of the microphone you’re currently controlling. In the device dropdown menu, you can temporarily rename each microphone to remember which one is which. However, it can be difficult for your computer to manage two USB input signals. Windows doesn’t allow multiple MOTIV devices to be connected at the same time, while Mac computers do allow configuration of two MOTIV devices, so long as you create an Aggregate Device in your system settings. |
Question: | Does this podcast mic have noise-cancelling abilities |
Answer: | I love my mv7 I’m a full time twitch streamer the only note I will say is buy yourself a good boom arm I have to order a new arm due to the microphone weight but the mic sounds phenomenal the one I have was a cheap boom arm you get what you pay for |
Question: | May I know if there is any difference of the sampling Rate between 192khz/24bit and 96khz/24bit |
Answer: | It's not a condenser mic; it's a dynamic. The MV7’s unique pick-up pattern keeps it laser-focussed on your voice and prevents any unwanted background or room noise from interrupting your recording. |
Question: | Is this mic good for singing |
Answer: | The manufacturers are ignoring the issue. We don't care if you include a converter in the box. We want all of our devices to be USB-C, so we don't have to keep carrying around the inferior micro USB cables. Just make the product $250 instead of $249 and give us a type C connection. |

Question: | Does it pick up voices from all angles for multiple singers uaing one mic for do you have to be directly in front of it |
Answer: | Probably- I don't have an Otterbox case. I use mine on devices without a case. I highly recommend this kind of mount for an inexpensive camera tripod, by the way. Question: | I want to buy this article in colombia. is the price for this mic (including shipping price) all that i have to pay? or will i require to pay more |
Answer: | The MV88 used with the Shure Motiv App will handle SPLs of up to 120 dB. That's very loud and certainly in the hearing damaging range. The App compressor can keep the recording software from clipping if you start recording with too high a gain setting, but cannot keep the mic itself from clipping if you exceed 120 dB SPL. The Motiv App allows for 37dB of gain adjustment, and for very loud SPLs can be set for "0dB" gain. I've recorded a full symphony orchestra peaking at 103 dB SPL up close with the gain set to 20dB and the peaks hit no higher than -3 dB digitally with no limiting. However, some heavy metal bands can produce very dangerous SPLs that do exceed 120 dB close to their speakers, so limiter or not, it is possible to overdrive the MV88. |
Question: | Which of the shure wireless mic would you recommend for a church gathering of 300 to 500 people |

User questions & answers
Question: | does it work on ps |
Answer: | I will opt for dynamic microphones for choir church band |
Question: | Is there a link for the drivers |
Answer: | No, these microphones operate on the UHF wireless spectrum. For example, Shure H10 Band is 542-572 MHz, which is below the 2.4GHz band. Be sure to check on Shure Wireless Frequency Finder page to see which band works best in your geographical area. Here's the link. https://www.shure.com/en-US/support/tools/frequency-finder |
Question: | Does this product have a mute button |
Answer: | Do you mean a single channel wireless system? The BLX14/CVL? In either case, yes, you will be able to run both systems simultaneously. Each frequency band of the BLX can run numerous transmitters at the same time without interfering with each other. If you also happen to have the BLX14/CVL, you can also purchase the BLX288/PG58 in the same frequency band so that you can have back up transmitters/receivers in case any of them fail. |
Question: | Can I press the on board control to mute the mic |
Answer: | Shure wireless receivers provide both XLR and 1/4" output for each channel. For the case of the dual channel receiver, you will need 2 cables. |
