User questions & answers
Question: | Do these headphones come with a carrying case |
Answer: | No, they don't come, but I suggest to buy a case just in case. If you don't want to, buy it without a case, those are durable headphones, but you never know if you'll need the case to carry them in a bag, back pack, carry on. |
Question: | How does this compare to the ATH-M30? And how comfortable is it for extended hours of use |
Answer: | I can only respond to the 2nd part of your question as I have not tried the ATH-M30, but the ATH M20X was (for me) extremely uncomfortable even after using for only a short period of time. This was due to the, IMO, excessive heat build-up which literally caused pools of sweat to collect inside the earpieces. I returned the headset after a few days. |
Question: | are these good for big heads? i have trouble finding headphones that fit comfortably over my big head. also i wear glasses if that helps |
Answer: | They are pretty tight on the head, and they go over the ear, so if you're wearing glasses the soft part will push on your frames. I can't wear my glasses with them because I find it too uncomfortable. It might be better to look at on ear, rather than around ear headphones. That said, I've been able to loosen the headphones a lot by bending the the metal headband. If you're not afraid to do that with $50 then you might be able to get them to a comfortable "clamp" amount, haha. |
Question: | Are these noise-canceling enough to wear on a plane and not hear the plane noise |
Answer: | They do NOT have electronic noise canceling. They are over the ear. The cups absorb outside sound but not enough that would be considered "noise cancelling". They're mainly for DJ's, home, and professional studio producers who use them because electronic "Noise Cancelling" tech interferes with recordings. |

Question: | Is there a stand included in this package |
Answer: | There is no stand included in this package. The stand should be purchased separately. |
Question: | Is thia an updated version or something? Date first available says 2018 but reviews from 2007? Better than the |
Answer: | That 2018 date is wrong. Some fool messed up. |
Question: | Is this a USB condenser microphone |
Answer: | No, it's a condenser, but it's a standard mic that requires a microphone amplifier, balanced input and a 48V power supply |
Question: | I have no experience with recording equipment--what do I need to (part and example, please) make this work with a laptop? Thanks |

User questions & answers
Question: | Comparing to hifiman he 500,whats better in bass, sound stadge, highs |
Answer: | I'm have no first-hand experience with the Hifiman, but I can tell you that this is what most would consider "flat" response. It does not emphasize bass or treble unless you use your amplifier to do so. Personally I love these because out of the box they produce full range, realistic sound. However, you can use your amp or other equipment to push the bass, the treble, or customize the sound in any way you'd like as the range and response on these are studio quality. I also like that they are very light and the ear cups are actually large enough to go over my "elephant" ears and not just sit on top of them. I hope that helps! If not, I suggest checking the Audio-Technica website as it provides extensive details about their equipment. If you have technical questions, you can also contact their technical support. They were very helpful when I was selecting equipment! I highly recommend any of the AT products! Just a matter of selecting the one that best matches your preferences. |
Question: | Can these work with out an amplifier? are they still enjoyable without one connecting them directly to a smartphone or a computer? Thanks |
Answer: | These headphones do not need an amplifier to work with any source. They are at 470 ohms, studio quality and will need more signal, but still capable of working with any source. |
Question: | I have a large head, 7 3/8th fitted hat. Will these fit me comfortably |
Answer: | I have an even larger head (7 5/8) and these are comfy. The two pads on top move easily enough to not push onto your head too hard. And the spine doesn't push the pads too hard into the side of your head. Though, if you get a bad set of headphones, like I did, the pads can feel stiff and pointy by the stitching (which intensifies the pressure into a single point on the side of your head). It gave me a headache not long after putting them on. I exchanged them with another pair through Amazon, and the new pair of phones are great. They're currently my favorite to wear for long periods of time. |
Question: | Do these fit smaller heads decently |
Answer: | I have a large head, but minimum width is 4 inches from earcup to earcup, and the wings that rest on top of the head have a minimum span of about 8 inches from the top of one ear to the other. If your head is smaller than that you may prefer one of the AT headphones without the wings as those adjust using standard sliders. They are super comfortable, very light, and the open air design keeps them cool (my biggest complaint with most headphones is how hot my ears get). The sound is excellent, though some would describe as flat response, at least from the perspective of what the ear hears. If you like to drive the bass you'd probably want to use some sort of amp with them. Bear in mind ooen air also means you can hear if someone calls your name, the phone rings, etc (which I prefer to isolating, noise-cancelling, but depends on your situation), and depending on volume others near you may hear what your listening to (albeit very faintly). Extra details, but I hope it helps! I have numerous headsets and these are my favorite as they're easy to use for long periods of time (more than 8 hours) with no headache, ear fatigue, etc. More importantly the sound reproduction is very close, if not spot on, to being present in person for the recording. |

User questions & answers
Question: | are eardpads replaceable |
Answer: | Yes; they stretch around and can be removed easily. I have some Brainwavs pads on mine and they fit nicely. |
Question: | How is the noise isolation on these |
Answer: | Average. If the volume is moderately high the sound will help isolate outside noise. But without any output or low output, not much isolation. Sound quality is better when using the headphone cable vs. wireless. |
Question: | How do these sound compared to the ath-m50x ? i'm guessing these have more bass but what about the high notes |
Answer: | I have both and the M50 are superior. 660 are good and no real complaints but the M50 have better base and high end, they are also better constructed. I recommend the M50's. |
Question: | On android device, with wire attached and bluetooth off, does next track/previous track, and volume up/down work |
Answer: | Yes, all functions work with or without the bluetooth activated, as long as the cable is in of course. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is a pop filter recommended |
Answer: | Yes. |
Question: | Are returns/refunds available for this microphone |
Answer: | This would need to be plugged into a microphone input....your computer likely doesn't have one built in. You can get a USB interface to plug this mic into, then USB into your computer. Or you could just get a USB microphone and a pair of headphones. This is an awesome package for it's price, but it will need to go into a mic input to work. |
Question: | It refuses to turn on with my macbook pro. i have changed cables and ports. the previous model has no problems. any ideas |
Answer: | You do not have to buy a recorder to use the mic and headphones. |
Question: | It keeps having this constant annoying audio humming noise in the background when I plug my handphones into the mic, or play it back |
Answer: | Depends on which audio-technica mic. These ZDM1 microphones sound great in the broadcast dynamic category. They can make a good run at something that sells for $400+. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this work on a Music Hall usb-1 turntable? This model did come with the original table |
Answer: | Your turntable came with an Audio Technica AT3600L moving magnet headshell, so this stylus would work, providing nothing was changed. I would re-check your owners manual and the headshell itself to be certain as once in a while, manufacturers change things during production runs. |
Question: | Will this work with a sony ps-lx |
Answer: | I don't know, I have a sony PS-LX250H and it works well. |
Question: | Are you sure this fits a sony ps-lx250h? it doesnt look like it would |
Answer: | I have this stylus in 2019 and it doesn't seem to fit the Sony PS-LX250h. There are really minor differences between the cartridges and I can't get the new Audio Technica one to CLICK in and lock in. I emailed AT to see if they had any info. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I use this to record videos on an Ipad |
Answer: | Yes you can, but you need the kit to connect a camera to the Ipad. |
Question: | Can I use this mic on a PC if it was mic and headphone inputs |
Answer: | I bought the mic 6 years ago and sent it back promptly: it seems to be proprietary for cameras of some sort. I'll paste the review I left: August 24, 2011 I thought this was a powered mic because it has a battery. But it doesn't function without an external power source. Works connected to my mixing board, PA, or amplifier, but not while connected to my laptop. I bought it so I wouldn't have to lug around and extra mixer to use on my PC. Sorry but I'll have to send it back. Oh well, live and learn I guess.6-25-17: Using a XLR to USB adaptor I can connect a Sure SM58 to my laptop, works great. |
Question: | Can I use this mic with a Samsung phone |
Answer: | it depends on the type of jack the phone can except. The jack on this mic is for a camera. |
Question: | Can it hook into an iPad and iPhone |
Answer: | it takes a battery but doesn't seem to have a preamp. What you need is a USB to XLR adaptor then you can hook a regular mic to your Ipad. |
