Question: Is this good for livesteaming/youtube and singing
Answer: If u have an audio interface
Question: What is the diameter
Answer: Hi Mark,The diameter is a little under 2 inches. If this was helpful, please consider purchasing from us. We can help with support after the sale as well. We have it in stock and ready to ship. - Pixel Pro Audio
Question: Can you record drums with these two microphones
Answer: Hello, You technically can, though it will not leave you with much control afterward. With these two, I would recommend putting the large diaphragm condenser in front of the kit so it can capture the whole kit and the room sound a bit and the small diaphragm on the side of the snare shell for more control over that afterward. You could also just use the smaller one as an overhead, but it really depends on the style you are going for. Hope that helps! If this was helpful, please consider purchasing from us (pixelproaudio on Amazon). We can help with support after the sale as well. We have it in stock and ready to ship. - Pixel Pro Audio

MXL 440 Studio Condenser Microphone

The MXL 440 is a beautiful studio condenser microphone designed to complement a wide variety of vocal and instrument applications. By combining a FET preamp with an electrically-balanced output, the MXL 440 delivers an uncompromised tonal quality perfect for all studio applications.

This microphone has a gold-sputtered diaphragm and a fixed cardioid pickup pattern. Condenser microphones are very sensitive, readily revealing very subtle sonic details. They also tend to pick up sounds outside the pattern more than some designs, which can lead to powerful feedback if you are not careful. MXL strongly advises experimentation with placement and isolation requirements with the gain initially set low to avoid equipment (and ear) damage. It is strongly advised to use a mesh pop-filter to avoid moisture from damaging the capsule.

MXL is a leading manufacturer of high performance audio products for professionals and recording enthusiasts around the world. MXL’s award-winning solutions continue to astound today’s top artists, engineers, professional producers, and businesses that require sonic perfection on stage, in the studio, and in the conference room.

Cardioid

The Cardioid polar pattern excels at picking up sound from the front of the microphone, less from the sides and has good rejection of sounds to the back of the microphone. Select the cardioid pattern for situations when you want to pick up specific sound sources, such as a specific guitar within an ensemble, and is recommended for recording applications where the acoustics are good, but not perfect. For instance, a cardioid pattern is less likely to pick up ambient noise from computers and recording equipment.

Omni-Directional

The Omni-Directionalpolar pattern picks up sound equally from all sides of the microphone. This is best used for recording in environments with excellent acoustics, as the omni-directional pickup excels at picking up ambient noise. The omni-directional polar pattern is less sensitive to 'plosives', handling noise and the proximity effect.

Figure 8

The Figure-8 polar pattern will pick up sounds from the front and back of the microphone with equal sensitivity while maintaining a large amound of rejection 90 degrees off axis. Figure-8 patterns are the most susceptible to proximity effect and are commonly used in Mid-Side (MS) stereo recording setups.

User questions & answers

Question: I'm looking for a studio mic with a crystal clear sound, and absolutely no background hissing. How does this mic sound quality-wise
Answer: This mic has that good broadcast tone, so the proximity effect is strong with it. I don't know what "used on desktop" means, per se, but you could have the mic 12" or 15" away, and it would be fine so long as your room doesn't have a bad sound.
Question: Can it be used for gaming
Answer: The Procaster has a little less "muddy" tone but honestly with a little EQ work this mic is great and a little more versatile IMHO.
Question: what's inside the box? Does it include the shock mount
Answer: No, however the BCD-1 is a dynamic mic and the sound quality would benefit when used with a Cloudlifter.
Question: How do these compare to the MXL 990/991 combo? Similar in sound? I would not want to spend the money if they are going to sound virtually the same

User questions & answers

Question: can conect this mirophone to me pc with xlr to 3.5mm adapter or need a mixer or interface
Answer: You could, but it likely wouldn't sound great. If you're buying a microphone like this, you'd really want to have some sort of interface with a decent mic preamp built in. Something like the Focusrite Scarlett Solo, or the ART USB Mix Project Series Mixer would do the trick. You'd be much, much happier with the results if you went through something like that. Most built in 3.5mm connectors on computers are connected to very bad preamps and very bad converters that are usually noisy and sound pretty terrible.
Question: If one put this mic on a desk stand, would it pick you up good sitting up without having to lean in to it? (think johnny carson or david letterman
Answer: If you're looking at this mic thinking about podcasting or youtube this mic will work fine and its dynamic nature should help tame room noise. But, dynamic mics like to be used close to the source so you'd be better off with it on a boom so you can keep it close to your mouth. The mics on the desk of most talk show host are props. The host and guest are recorded by techs using mics on boom poles who can change the position when people move around. Watch how Joe Rogan, Howard Stern, ect., use their mics in studio to get an idea.
Question: What is the weight of this mic
Answer: It's very light, I had one for about a week before I sold it to the next poor fool. This mic sounds pretty terrible. You want a flashy stage mic, just spend that little bit more and get yourself one of the Shure 55 models.
Question: Would this be good for twitch streaming for gaming? would be using it with a goxlr mini
Answer: It would. However as a directional mike it might not produce as well as the typical headset mike. Assuming the player is moving a lot. We bought 2 for our radio station and use them for vocal performances. Sounds beautiful. Full & Rich and looks great!

User questions & answers

Question: Will a samson mk-10 mic stand hold this microphone? if not, can someone tell me where to get the correct size mic clip
Answer: The microphone comes with a shock mount and mic clip that will both fit any standard microphone stand including your Samson.
Question: Is it normal for this mic to have exposed wiring? I mean the bottom cap in the mic to come off easily
Answer: Not normal. Only if you unscrew and remove the bottom of the microphone would you see the wires going from the XLR jack onto the circuit board. If they are hanging out with the bottom screwed on, I would imaging they might have been damaged from being smashed. In that case I would return/exchange the microphone. If the wires aren't damaged, I'd just push them inside the microphone and screw the bottom piece back on securely. Should be all good.
Question: Which one of these allow me to connect to a computer via usb? The midnight blue or the champagne
Answer: You need a audio interface and xlr cable for this microphone
Question: I want to use this mic for an instrument, would it work OK
Answer: Actually 3/4" is not large - and it's the same sensor that's in the 991 stick mic. It is an ideal mic for acoustic instruments - which means a totally flat response in the mid range frequencies of which vocal is only an example. Let that be your guide. I have no experience with any other use. Same is true for the stick mic.

Question: I cannot get any sound to come through via mixer or straight into speaker
Answer: Does NOT come with a carrying case - there is a foam insert in the box that they are held in but it isn't a case). No shock mounts either - just standard plastic mic clips. Pretty sturdy but not shock mounts.
Question: Would this be good for a bass drum
Answer: the 550 very clean and crisp for vocals. If you experience background noise, check your signal chain, or ambient noise. The 551 is great for guitars, or anything (except drums) you might use a classic 57 for.

User questions & answers

Question: best mic for group singing
Answer: Do you have the Phantom Power on the mixer set to On , the Mute button un- muted , the Fader slide turned up etc. on the soundboard ? This mic is an electret condenser microphone and requires Phantom Power to operate . If you can get other phantom powered mics to work in the same XLR jack on your mixer as you are trying to use this one , then I would return this mic for a replacement one .
Question: How do I know if this, along with other mics, uses balanced outputs
Answer: To my knowledge & Experience This is Stage Boundary Microphone used for Theatre to catch voice from 10 to 15 ft. Closer than 2 ft gives very loud signal . It catches sound from all directions. SO i would suggest to go for other mike which has frequency range for your Bass Drum.
Question: Would I be able to just use a XLR to USB adapter to connect this mic to my laptop
Answer: If you are just using to capture the ambiance of the room for the bands in ear mix or your broadcast mix. These are not a bad option for the price. Just place at left and right of front of stage and point out towards the room. These mics also make for good drum overheads.
Question: What is the difference between this and the V67G
Answer: It is for two microphones.

MXL R144

Incorporating a Figure-8 polar pattern and a 1.8-micron aluminum ribbon, the MXL R144 offers breathtaking sound for vocal and instrument recordings and is an excellent microphone for broadcast applications. The R144 also performs brilliantly on acoustic instruments, strings, and horns and offers high SPL capability, outstanding side rejection and precise directivity.

The MXL R144 Ribbon microphone uses an aluminum ribbon transducer which by nature is a bidirectional (figure-8) pickup pattern. A figure-8 pattern will pick up sounds from the front and back sides of the microphone with equal sensitivity while maintaining a large amount of rejection 90° off access. The front of the microphone is indicated by the MXL logo where the audio signal is 'in-phase' while the back side has an inverted phase. Ribbon mics typically have a lower output than condenser microphones and may require a preamplifier with a lot of gain. It is highly recommended to use a preamp with low noise, high gain, and an input impedance of 1500 ohms or greater. MXL strongly advises experimentation with placement and isolation requirements with the gain initially set low to avoid possible equipment (and hearing) damage.

Answer: I'm pretty sure it works with any application. It's essentially a high-quality USB microphone. It can have multiple microphones daisy-chained together. The quality is very good. But yes, we use it exclusively with our Zoom Room systems and are pretty happy with them.
Question: Can this be linked to a computer, using the Microsoft microphone app to record
Answer: No - the AC360ZV2 is exclusively for Zoom Room systems. To use with a different platform I recommend looking at the AC404
Question: Does this work with regular zoom meetings? do we need zoomroom setup
Answer: Hello Irshad - you need a Zoom Room setup for the 360 Z V2 to work properly. The Zoom Room setup allows for all of the capsules to combine and be recognized as 1 single unit.
Question: I read the manual and it only explains how to configure it with zoom room. does it also work with zoom pro
Answer: Yes, it works fine with Zoom Pro.

User questions & answers

Question: What kind of cable does it use
Answer: Balanced mic/patch cable, Male XLR to Female XLR
Question: Hi, if I buy this mic., do I also need a shock mount beside phantom 48v power supply & xlr cable? So is phantom itself act as a mixer at the same time
Answer: You do not "need" a shock mount as the V67G comes with a hard mount, later on down the road you may want to upgrade to one. Phantom power is just power that is sent over a mic cable to power the mic. It usually comes from an audio interface or mixer. So yes, you would need a Mixer or an Audio interface to use this.
Question: Is this mic better than the audio-technica at2035 large diaphragm studio condenser microphone
Answer: My opinion, both Mics are entry level studio quality. The Audio Tech is a solid mic, it is a better quality built, the MXL has that crisp high's sound. So MXL wins on sound quality, but few adjustments on your DAW, and Audio Tech sounds very similar But If you check out the "level up" MXL mics like the MXL 550/551R Microphone Ensemble, is little more expensive than MXL V64g. My opinion, the Audio Tech is a famous brand. Similar level, I can't say its better.. but i will always choose the MXL brand over any HOME use mic. In studio, I prefer the Rode Mics for my voice.
Question: Can you just plug this into a computer or does it need to go through a sound board
Answer: This mic used phantom power, which means that it is not suited to just plug in to your computer without an interface. If just plugging directly in is what you want to do, then I would suggest looking at the Blue, snowball or Yeti Pro, the apogee mic, or any other usb condenser mic.
