There is a pre-amp in the unit that will power a headset or connect to an external amplifier. If your mics have 1/4 inch plugs, your set-up should work OK without additional equipment. If your mics have three-prong plugs, you might want to find a mixer that does have phantom power on at least two of the inputs (but not all). | Answer: | It will support them just like any other surge protector would. If you want to use multiple wide AC plugs, you'll have to use AC plug extenders to give it space from the unit, so that the other plugs will fit. Fortunately they're super cheap (like 80 cents each online). Search "AC 3-prong ground lift adapter" to find what I'm talking about. |

| Answer: | I purchased both this unit, as well a their larger unit. Both units are not rated at what they are said. The unit is described to be rated at 15amps. And this is correct, the fuse on the back of both units are 15amps. However the wiring internally is only 22 gauge, meaning it is only rated at 7 amps. The internal wiring will fail before the fuse blows. The surge protector should cut the power once the wires fail but the damage will be done. I attemmpted to contact Techincal Pro and so did Amazon, but we were unable to contact them. I know the unit is inexpensive, but you should purchase a better unit. I recommend tripplite. However I upgraded the internal wiring, so if you have the skill to attend it you can do that for less then a better unit. |
