User questions & answers
Question: | How wide is the neck of the guitar around the top 5 frets |
Answer: | About 2 inches. |
Question: | does the 1/2 size have a two tone top? The picture shows a slight line running down the middle that appears to be two tones/two pieces |
Answer: | Yes, the top is two pieces of laminated spruce. This is a standard practice for just about every guitar manufacturer. |
Question: | I'm a 4'10" adult with tiny baby hands. Looking for smaller guitar so certain chords are easier to play. Which size should I get |
Answer: | This probably won't do, as the fretboard is rather wide. A parlor guitar is more your fit. The Little Martin or be the Peavey Composer is small, but sound good. Check them out. |
Question: | Is there an option to have it strung for a left-handed child |
Answer: | You can always string a guitar backwards, but as a lefty who plays right-handed, I'd strongly urge having the child learn the normal way. So many times you wind up at a party where there's a guitar, and if you can't play it because you've learned a non-standard way, you've severely limited your opportunities. Besides, the left hand which does the fretting has an advantage for a lefty. |

User questions & answers
Question: | The bag does not have backpack straps, padding, or a pocket? But it is marketed a deluxe gig bag |
Answer: | It's a decent bag with a handle and zipper . I wouldn't strap it to my back and go on a motorcycle ride . It's more for carrying to your car ,putting it in the trunk ,then taking it out of the trunk . I would check Guitar center or Musicians friend they would have something like you describe, probably for 100 bucks or 150 . With no guitar. Good luck . |
Question: | Does this guitar have nylon strings |
Answer: | No |
Question: | Is this solid wood or laminate |
Answer: | Yes it is solid wood and tunes beautifully. My grandsons music teacher tuned it and said he wished he had gotten a guitar like it when he was a child. He said that he only had to tune it once and it stayed in tune the three days he had it. Well worth buying. |
Question: | does the yamahafj jr 1 come left handed |
Answer: | Sorry Peggy, but this is a right-handed guitar. You may want to inquire of Yamaha whether they make a left-handed version, for I have known people who have ordered a custom guitar from them and they have accommodated them in the past. Things may have changed, but it never hurts to ask. Here's the Yamaha website: http://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical-instruments/Best of luck! |

Question: | is the neck as wide as a martin, like a D-28 or fender strat or mostly for kids |
Answer: | Realize, this is Uk. Not guitar. Difference is it's somewhat tuned/stringed like guitar but in 5th frt position. Neck is narrow, as in Ukulele. Adults play ukulele too but don't expect to be like guitar, ie. Martin or Strat. |
Question: | can i use snigjat guitar stand(https://www.amazon.com/dp/b07wdpwczh/ref=sr_1_39?keywords=guitar+stand) with yamaha gl1 guitalele |
Answer: | I use this stand -Stagg SUVM-A100BK Foldable"A" Stand for Ukuleles, Mandolins and Violins, I have several other guitar stands. The Guitalele is (tenor)Ukulele size and I find guitar stands are too big-unless the guitalele is in it's case. |

User questions & answers
Question: | When checked for condition, is the set-up checked? I am worried about buzzing frets or string height issues. Body condition is not a worry. Thanks |
Answer: | It played great out of the box, arrived almost in tune as well. I’ve had nothing to complain about it sounds great. |
Question: | On the NW (classical), can you tell me if the bridge saddle is perfectly 90 degrees to the fretboard/parallel with the nut? Or is it slightly angled |
Answer: | It’s 100% parallel to the nut on mine but I never noticed any intonation issues. My other classical guitars have very slight (and unadjustable) angles, so the manufacturer is just guessing about the difference in gauge between strings anyway. |
Question: | does it include a headphone |
Answer: | Headphones, no. It includes ear buds. |
Question: | Does it comes with the gigbag |
Answer: | Yes. It's a special compact bag for that guitar. The upper part of the guitar are detachable, so in the bag this part and the guitar are stored separately. As the result the bag is more compact comparing with the regular bag for a classical guitar. The quality of the bag is Ok - it is made from hard nylon, but it's thinner than the regular bag, so I guess it's not very protective. Works ok for me to store the guitar at home. |

SRT Powered Technology
SRT Powered is a new system designed to recreate the body resonance of an acoustic guitar in a bodiless guitar. Yamaha developed SRT Powered, collaborating with recording artists to create a system tailored to the unique properties of the new SLG body and modeled after the tones of a high-end Yamaha acoustic guitar captured using a carefully selected microphone in a professional recording studio environment.
By actually reproducing the sound of an acoustic guitar—right down to its natural sustain and decay—Yamaha lets guitarists experience the genuine body resonance and tone of an acoustic guitar, while avoiding the need for a microphone when recording. SRT Powered sound can even be mixed with the sound from the instrument's piezo pickups, allowing guitarists to be even more flexible in their creative endeavors.

The bodiless design of the SLG offers a natural, quiet sound that allows guitarists to play without disturbing others, whether practicing late at night or playing in the living room when the family is home. Th SLG200S is 80% quieter than an acoustic guitar.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the yamaha fs-ta concert all solid wood construction |
Answer: | Solid spruce top, laminate sides and back. Sounds pretty good. I have this guitar and use it for "taking places" that I don't want to take my more expensive guitars to. |
Question: | Does the pickup still work without a battery |
Answer: | Since a standard 1/4" cable isn't powered, the guitar still needs the battery - the chorus and reverb will work through the PA or amp; so there's no need for extra effects. I add delay through my VOX amp. |
Question: | Will you adjust the fingerboard of guitar before delivery |
Answer: | My guitar came preset. I changed the strings to 11’s flatwound and did do some neck adjustment myself. |
Question: | Does a gig bag come with the ls-ta concert? everywhere else it comes with a gig bag at the same price. but amazon says nothing about it |
Answer: | I know it does not say anything about it but yes I did receive one when I ordered it in February. There is no gig bag with the FSTA even when you buy it from a big box guitar store. Enjoy the LSTA as it is well worth it, I just was playing mine! I got it at a good price too! |
Product features
Actuator
An actuator installed on the inner surface of the guitar back vibrates in response to the vibrations of the strings. The vibrations of the actuator are then conveyed to the body of the guitar and to the air in and around the guitar body, generating authentic reverb and chorus sounds from inside the body.
Simple Controls
Three simple knobs let you adjust the amount of effects and the line out volume level. Keeping the controls small minimizes the area of the holes in the body material, which reduces acoustic sound loss.
(A) Chorus Control
(B) Reverb Control (Room/Hall)
(C) TA Switch/Line Out Volume Control
* Pressing the TA Switch for longer than 0.3 seconds activates the TA function.
* When a cable is connected to the line out jack, the line out volume can be adjusted by rotating knob (C).
* The reverb type switches from Room to Hall around the 12:00 position.
Battery Box
The battery box is integrated into the end-pin jack, which requires fewer holes in the body, thus reducing acoustic sound loss. Connect the cable from the jack to a PA or amp to use as an acoustic-electric guitar.
