11 best stereo mixers
A stereo mixer is an essential piece of audio equipment used in various settings, including live sound stages, recording studios, and musical performances. It allows multiple audio sources to be combined, adjusted, and balanced before being sent to speakers or recording devices.
Here are some key features and considerations for stereo mixers:
Input Channels: Mixers come with a varying number of input channels, which can range from a few to dozens. Each channel allows you to connect a separate audio source, such as microphones, instruments, or playback devices.
Mono vs. Stereo Channels: Some channels are designed to handle mono signals (like most microphones), while others can process stereo signals (such as keyboards or audio interfaces).
Controls: Each input channel typically has controls for adjusting parameters like volume, EQ (equalization), panning (left-right balance), and effects sends.
EQ Section: This allows you to adjust the frequency balance of each channel. Common EQ controls include bass, midrange, and treble.
Effects Sends and Returns: Mixers often have auxiliary outputs (sends) that allow you to route a portion of the signal to external effects processors (reverb, delay, etc.) and then bring it back into the mix (returns).
Faders: These are sliding controls that adjust the volume levels of each channel. They are a fundamental tool for balancing the various audio sources.
Master Section: This includes controls for the overall mix, including master volume, master EQ, and sometimes master effects.
Routing Options: Advanced mixers may offer flexible routing options, allowing you to send specific channels to different outputs or buses.
Built-in Effects: Some mixers come with built-in effects processors, providing reverb, delay, chorus, and other effects without the need for external units.
Phantom Power: This feature is crucial for powering condenser microphones, which require an external power source.
Pan Control: This allows you to position a channel's sound in the stereo field, determining whether it comes from the left or right speaker.
Subgroup and Bus Outputs: These allow you to group channels together (subgroup) or send multiple channels to a common output (bus).
Metering: Mixers often have level meters to help you monitor the signal strength of each channel and the overall mix.
Size and Portability: Consider the physical size of the mixer, especially if you plan to use it in different locations or need to transport it frequently.
Brand and Model: Different manufacturers offer a wide range of mixers with varying features and quality levels. It's important to choose a mixer that suits your specific needs and budget.
Remember to choose a mixer that meets your specific requirements, whether you're using it for live performances, recording, or other applications. Additionally, proper setup and signal flow are crucial for achieving the best sound quality and performance from your mixer.

- Simple Control : The audio mixer collects sound from many different sources (microphone, guitar, bass and keyboard) into a monitoring position for monitoring or routing. Each channel on the linear mixer has an independent volume control, independent input plugs and volume control for each channel, and a single output from an amplifier.
- Multi Function Simplified Settings : The mixer is ideal for multi-keyboard devices and recording, where multiple channels need to be mixed into one audio track. Great for your keyboard, small stage setup, drum set or submixing before going to the main mixer. Mixer: Modern design looks great on any desktop, with large controls that are easy to use and small in size, avoiding tangling wires, clothes, etc.
- Low-noise 4-channel line mixer : Mini audio mixer produces the highest sound quality at all output levels, boasting ultra-low noise operational for outstanding audio performance. Distortion-free and easy to set up, ideal for quickly mixing 4 line-level signals without complications. Question: | Is the output stereo or mono |
Answer: | Yes, but I found a website that camera and microphone both function much better than standard laptop integrated systems, and the mounting is super simple and relatively secure. If you want to get some good camera soon, I recommend you try them. LInk: buyxshop .com |

User questions & answers
Question: | FX has long echo effect. Does it provide good echo effect as that of other mixers? Is echo effect is also in Behringer 802 mixer |
Answer: | This is the correct cable to use when going stereo to mono. Stereo(2 black rings on actual 3.5mm input prong) to mono(one black ring on 1/4" input prong). BUT 'thru your i-phone'? IDK, thats a little vague. I use this cable with a Guitar/I-Rig/I-Pad/AMP. Guitar 1/4" patch cable out from I-Rig to Guitar. This cable's 3.5mm stereo end from I-Rig to AMPLIFIER 1/4" input. I-Rig into I-Pad headphone jack. |
Question: | Is this effects mixer good for Karaoke |
Answer: | There are no resistors in this wire. The stereo signals are simply shorted together. This cable's proper use is 1/4" mono output to a 3.5mm stereo input. |
Question: | I keep seeing that a mixer doesn’t record voices?? how can i use this for a podcast? whatelse do i need |
Answer: | I've been using it to connect ipad/iphone/portable DVD player to a PA system with no problems at all. |
Question: | Can you apply the digital effects to just certain inputs like 2 mics, but leave the music alone? I'm looking to upgrade from the 802 without FX |
Answer: | It's designed to split in 2 outputs from 1 input and not 3 outputs |

User questions & answers
Question: | Hey guys does this come with an a/c adapter? That one dude in the reviews said his did not |
Answer: | Mine certainly did come with AC adapter. It can not function without. It’s a great device. I wish it had an on/off switch. I unplug the power cord from the rear of the unit as the AC adapter is plugged into a Monster voltage protector with the other audio gear so to me it’s just easier this way. |
Question: | Can it be used to have two audio devices connected to one set of speakers? If so, will they be able to play at the same time |
Answer: | Yes. That is exactly why I purchased this device. It mixes four sources to one output. If you just have passive speakers, you will need amplifier, but probably your "set of speakers" does include amplifier. |
Question: | Are others having problems with hum or ground noise on channel 1 when using condenser microphones with phantom power |
Answer: | I Just Bought this device and powered it up adn the Hum/Ground noise Happens even without the condenser microphone switch off or ON, with or WITHOUT the microphone plugged in. |
Question: | Description: "It has 2 1/4" inputs and 3 sets of stereo RCA inputs that are mixed to MONO." Are the L and R inputs really mixed together |
Answer: | apparently Amazon confused the description. There is a Rolls MX51 and a Rolls MX51s. The non-s has 1/4" inputs and mixes to mono. The "s" model had 1/8" input and XLR input and mixes stereo. |

Yamaha has always strived to provide sound engineers with the purest possible signal instead of added processing or color to give it a "signature" sound, and the MG Series is no exception. Embracing this philosophy of transparent sound, these mixing consoles deliver a level of sonic purity and sound quality that is unmatched in their class. This is where it all starts. Everything you do as a sound engineer is dependent on the quality of your preamps, which determines the direction your mix will take, and ultimately how good it is going to sound. MG Series mixing consoles feature Yamaha's studio-grade discrete class-A D-PRE preamps, which utilize an inverted Darlington circuit comprising two cascading transistors in a configuration that provides more power with lower impedance. Delivering fat, natural sounding bass and smooth, soaring highs, with very low distortion, D-PRE preamps possess an impressively wide frequency range that allow them to handle signal from any audio source without overly amplifying any specific elements of the sound. Having such a pure sonic platform to build on will ultimately save you time and effort by eliminating the need for excessive EQing or additional effects processing in order to "fix" your mix.
- 6 channel standalone mixer (No USB)
- Featuring studio grade discrete class A D PRE preamps with inverted Darlington circuit: Providing fat, natural sounding bass and smooth, soaring highs
- 3 band EQ and high pass filters give you maximum control and eliminate unwanted noise, resulting in a cleaner mix
- 1 Knob compressors allow easy control: Resulting in livelier guitars, punchier bass lines, a tighter snare and a cleaner vocal sound.
- MG Series mixers feature a rugged, impact resistant, powder coated metal chassis
User questions & answers
Question: | Can i connect mg06x-6 to tv |
Answer: | here's one: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Hosa/Stereo-1-4-Inch-Male-TRS-to-Dual-Male-RCA-Insert-Cable.gc |
Question: | Can i connect its out to irig pre (phone-audio interface) which ultimately connected to phones for recording over iphone/ipads |
Answer: | This mixer with its quality mic preamps (real ones, with plenty of adjustable gain) , EQ, channel output volume, etc. is far superior to the iRig Pre. I tried the iRig Pre (and reviewed it) and didn't like it. To emulate the iRig Pre connections, get a TRRS (male) adapter you plug into your phone/tablet that breaks out separate speaker 1/8" TRS (female) and mic 1/8" TRS (female) connectors. You could use either the XLR or the 1/4" outputs of the mixer as input to the mic 1 /8" TRS connector on the adapter. Unlike the iRig Pre, with a mixer like this you have the option of listening to the realtime output of the mixer from its headphone jack or plug your headphones into the speaker 1/8" (female) connector on the adapter to hear it how the phone/ tablet is recording it (which can be time-delayed making it difficult to speak live while listening to non-realtime audio). |
Question: | Are the 1/4 inch outputs TRS for balanced signal to another TRS input? I'm planning on using this as a simple mixer for input to a Bose L1 Compact |
Answer: | The outputs are Stereo outputs, both L and R. (shown on the blue areas of image) |
Question: | Can headphones and stereo out be be controlled independently? I want to listen to either headphones OR speakers, not both at once |
Answer: | On the MG10XU there are two volumes controls. Stereo out and Monitor/Headphones out. I can't tell if this has both knobs or not. You can check the manual for the technical diagram. |

1-Knob Compressors
Compression plays an essential role in just about any recording or sound reinforcement environment by altering the level of dynamics of an audio signal when you need livelier guitars, punchier bass lines, a tighter snare, or a cleaner vocal sound. However, it can take countless hours to master the complexities of even the most basic outboard compression units and use them effectively.
Built-in SPX Digital Effects (MG06X)
For musical and non-musical applications, effects processing adds polish and professionalism to the mix. The MG06X features Yamaha's SPX digital multi-effect processor, offering a comprehensive suite of editable digital effects perfect for enhancing your mix, whether adding depth to a speaking engagement or breathing new color and atmosphere into a live performance.
High Quality Sound Op-amp

MG Series mixers feature new, high-quality, custommade MG01 op-amps that we developed in cooperation with the semiconductor manufacturer. We worked directly with the semiconductor manufacturer to focus on sound quality first.

User questions & answers
Question: | can I find this product anywhere else |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | how do I fix a hum that increases with more volume |
Answer: | there could be a an easy answer, take off all the players connected first and see if you still have the sound there of the hum, if so, it could be a bad wiring where the power is, there are hum suppressors that can help get it out, some audio leads can course it too, I have it with my computer putting a hum in it, but laptops can do the same, some fans can make the sound as well, but check the volts and hz to make sure it is the right, and do know connect the lighting on the same line the audio is on as well it can make a hum sound, all this is what I have pick up in working in nite clubs, pubs and doing mobile disco. |
Question: | How to pair Bluetooth device |
Answer: | Hi, the Bluetooth name "PYLEPRO" will automatically appear on your mobile phone. You may check other details of the unit by visiting our website pyleaudio.com. Type the model number on the search box PYD1964B for more details. Thank you. |
Question: | Does this have the high quality aptx bluetooth |
Answer: | I don't know. Even grounded I still had far more noise than my original Numark mixer. Repaired my slide pot. And sent the Pyle back. Never got to the point where I would test the signal to Bluetooth. |

Powerful Line Mixer
DEL-8i2 has Ground/Floating functions that are not available in similar products on the market. "Ground" means normal grounding: "Floating" is a floating ground, which can avoid interference with other equipment due to grounding circuits.
Easy to Control and Operate
Each channel on DEL-8I2 has an independent volume control, independent input plug and volume control of each channel, and two output channels. You can clearly know the volume of the corresponding channel through the scale on the panel. Allows you to more easily adjust the ratio of different channels when doing line mixing.
General Stereo/Mono Function
If you hear the hum of the input device, just press the Ground/Floating button of the corresponding channel (Ground/Floating function only supports "1/2" and "3/4" input). In addition, DEL-8i2 also has the general Stereo/Mono function, which can set "Input 5/6" and "7/8" as stereo or mono input.
Everything You Want
In addition to the mixer, we are also equipped with a power adapter and two 3.5 to 6.35 adapters to meet all your daily needs. Special tips: 1. If the audio input is mono, or if you use a mono cable to connect the device to the input or output of the mixer, the output will be mono. 2. If you want to get a stereo output, you need to use a stereo cable (the tip is 2 loops) to connect the device to the input and output of the mixer.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I add echo and reverb at to the mic |
Answer: | Hi. Any of the onboard effects will work with the with Mic channels. One effect at a time, though. |
Question: | Is this mixer capable of "mix minus" configuration? If so how is it done? I cant seem to get it to produce any audio from the "fx send" port |
Answer: | been trying to determine this for my own setup. thus far it seems No as the AUX is post fader. im trying to isolate the mic on the FX send and have it removed from the main mix.. nothing seems to allow this to happen. i can get the FX send to work but if the usb and the FX send are connected to the same source, both signals carry the mic audio... |
Question: | Can this do multitrack recording |
Answer: | This is a mixer and not any type of recording device. This operates on USB and does not have any recording capability built-in. This is used to record multiple sources at one time and make that into one Stereo/Mono audio output that can be used with a recording software, streaming software, or even a live speaker system. You can record the main output via computer, but even then, this will all be one audio stream, not one for each separate channel. |
Question: | who made it |
Answer: | Probably someone who works for Yamaha. |

Yamaha MG Series Mixers
For more than a century, Yamaha has been building a legacy of superior craftsmanship and innovation exemplified in all of our products, from an unrivaled catalog of world-class musical instruments to touring-grade professional audio. Now in its third incarnation, the MG Series embodies this pursuit of design excellence, and incorporates some of the same technologies developed for use in high-end professional consoles, including studio-quality preamps, powerful digital processing, and a rugged, reliable construction.
With an intuitive, easy-to-use interface, the MG Series boasts an extensive lineup of compact mixing consoles with models ranging from six to twenty channels, suitable for a diverse range of users and applications. For installed, recording, or live music settings, the solid construction and flexible design of these consoles lets you shape your sound with confidence, continually delivering a level of sound quality and reliability unrivaled in its class.
D-PRE (Discrete Class-A Mic Preamps)
This is where it all starts. Everything you do as a sound engineer is dependent on the quality of your preamps, which determines the direction your mix will take, and ultimately how good it is going to sound. MG Series mixing consoles feature Yamaha's studio-grade discrete class-A D-PRE preamps, which utilize an inverted Darlington circuit comprising two cascading transistors in a configuration that provides more power with lower impedance.
EQ and High-pass Filters
There's nothing more useful than reliable equalization when you need nuanced management of your tone. The MG Series benefits from Yamaha's unparalleled experience in designing pro audio gear, featuring 3-band equalizers on all mono channels for precise control of your sound. High-pass filter allows you to eliminate unwanted low-frequency noise, for a smoother, cleaner mix.
Built-in SPX Digital Effects
For musical and non-musical applications, effects processing adds polish and professionalism to the mix. The MG X / XU models feature Yamaha's SPX digital multi-effect processor, offering a comprehensive suite of editable digital effects perfect for enhancing your mix, whether adding depth to a speaking engagement or breathing new color and atmosphere into a live performance.
High Quality Sound Op-amp
The head amp determines sound quality, and op-amp integrated circuits are one of the most important parts in the head amp circuit. MG Series mixers feature new, high-quality, custommade MG01 op-amps that we developed in cooperation with the semiconductor manufacturer. We worked directly with the semiconductor manufacturer to focus on sound quality first.

User questions & answers
Question: | How many microphones can I connect to the mixers. Will it be able to have |
Answer: | No cables where not included, I had to convert my 1/8" to 1/4 with an adapter, then I had to buy 1/4in male Y-cable but your needs could be different, all of the connections are 1/4inch if you look closely at the picture. As for usb mic, unless you are able to find a converter that will convert to 1/4inch you cant use it, or you will have to buy a new mic because when you get into using so many converters, in my experience, the sound isnt as good bad quality so I wouldn't recommend this. I hope this can helped you, if you have further questions/concerns, look up the brand/manufacturer they may have help/support |
Question: | does this come with a/c power |
Answer: | You could if you in put mic in 1 channel with balance all the way 1 direction, and then guitar in another channel with the balance all the way the other direction. You would then have 2 seperated mono recordings. Easily edited in recording software. |
Question: | Does it come with the cable to plug it in to the computer, and i have an usb mic what kinda jack should i buy for it |
Answer: | Here's what the manual states: The XENYX mixer line has built-in USB connectivity, allowing stereo signals to be sent to and from the mixer and a computer. The audio sent from the mixer to a computer is identical to the MAIN MIX. Audio being sent to the mixer from a computer can be routed to the main mix with the 2-TR/USB TO MAIN button. Connect the USB type B plug into the USB jack on the mixer, and the other end into a free USB port on your computer. There are no required drivers, but we recommend that PC users install the included ASIO driver. The driver can also be downloaded from behringer.com.I don't know what OS you are using, but you might want to make sure that your computer is set up for stereo input/output via your preferences. You could also check to see if you have the correct drivers installed from Behringer, and lastly, make sure you have the 2TR/USB to MAIN properly depress and you can also route it to a set of headphones via the SOURCE 2TR/USB. Also not sure if this is what you are hearing through headphones or mains (?). Are your main channels routed independently? So when you say USB Out, is that from a stereo source or from the PA? |
Question: | Does "2 Bus Mixer" mean that two inputs (eg guitar and vocal) can be separated in a recording software? Thanks |
Answer: | This is what I have it installed in:http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/odyssey-cxp1110w-carpeted-pro-combo-case-w-wheels?skuId=site1sku804787000000000 |
