12 best seismic audio active pa speakers
Seismic Audio is a brand known for producing active PA (Public Address) speakers, including monitor speakers and subwoofers. These audio components are commonly used in live sound reinforcement setups, musical performances, events, and venues where a clear and powerful sound is required. Here are some key points about Seismic Audio active PA speakers:
Active vs. Passive: Seismic Audio's active PA speakers are self-powered, meaning they have built-in amplifiers. This eliminates the need for external amplifiers, simplifying setup and reducing the number of components required for a sound system.
Power and Wattage: Seismic Audio offers a range of active PA speakers with different power ratings. The wattage of these speakers determines their output and suitability for different venues and applications. Higher wattage speakers are typically used for larger events and venues, while lower wattage speakers may be suitable for smaller gigs or monitoring purposes.
Speaker Size: Seismic Audio active PA speakers come in various sizes, including 8-inch, 10-inch, 12-inch, and 15-inch models. The choice of speaker size depends on the specific sound reinforcement needs and the type of music or audio being played.
Portability: Many Seismic Audio speakers are designed with portability in mind. They often feature lightweight cabinets, handles, and sometimes built-in wheels for easy transport between venues.
Monitor Speakers: Seismic Audio offers monitor speakers that are commonly used by musicians and performers on stage. These monitor speakers allow artists to hear themselves and the band, ensuring they can stay in sync with the music and maintain proper pitch and timing.
Subwoofers: In addition to full-range active PA speakers and monitor speakers, Seismic Audio manufactures subwoofers. Subwoofers are specialized speakers designed to reproduce low-frequency sounds (bass) with clarity and impact. They are often used in conjunction with main speakers to enhance the overall audio experience.
Durability: Seismic Audio products are designed to withstand the rigors of live sound reinforcement. They often feature rugged enclosures and components to ensure durability and reliability during performances.
Affordability: Seismic Audio is known for offering reasonably priced audio equipment, making it accessible to a wide range of musicians, event organizers, and venues.
When selecting Seismic Audio active PA speakers, it's essential to consider factors such as the venue size, the type of music or audio being played, and the specific requirements of your sound reinforcement setup. Properly chosen and configured Seismic Audio equipment can contribute to a high-quality audio experience for both performers and audiences.

User questions & answers
Question: | What genre of music sounds best playing through this sub |
Answer: | This is a subwoofer. It only creates the low tones. It is designed to make the bass drum punch harder to great a bigger pressure wave that you feel in your chest. Any kind of music where the pulse of the bass drum is meant to be felt is the optimal type of music for this speaker. This differs from the Tremor in that it has a more powerful amplifier so you music can be louder. |
Question: | Is anyone else not getting any where near enough power out of it? What is the solution? These things put out less bass than my 8" studio monitors |
Answer: | I strongly suggest that you call Seismic Audio's Customer service at 1-877-347-6423, I'm so sure they will gladly help you with whatever issues you may be having with your Aftershock speaker. After getting all kind of recommendations from "audio experts" all around I finally called this people and that was it and no charge. Gilbert. |
Question: | i just bought this and I'm new to all this dj stuff when connecting this to a PA system do i need a cable that connects into the left and right input |
Answer: | Hi Michael,Thanks for your purchase of the Seismic Audio Aftershock-18 powered 18" subwoofer. You do not have to input into both the Left and Right XLR-1/4" combination inputs, but you will command more performance from the sub if you do. If your mixer has a Left and Right line-level main outputs, you can run from those to the inputs of the Aftershock sub, then "daisy chain" from the XLR outputs to your corresponding full range "main" speakers, assuming they are also powered units. Depending on the make and model of your mixer, you may also be able to connect the Aftershock to an Auxiliary or Monitor output of your mixer, and control the volume level of the sub independently of the "mains". Sometimes this method is preferred so you can cut or boost the bass to that particular crowd's preference. Give us a call and we can discuss this further and we also have a FAQ sheet available for the Aftershock. Thanks,Rusty |
Question: | If i only have a mono input, do i use the left and it automatically counts for right? or do i need to jump the signal back to the other input |
Answer: | Hi BPK,Thanks for your interest in Seismic Audio and our selection of Pro Audio gear! If you have a mono output from your mixer, you can input into the Left XLR-1/4" combination input on the Aftershock, then output from the Left XLR output and input back over to the Right XLR-1/4" combination input, effectively daisy chaining the sub to itself. It may be better to split your signal instead, turning your one mono signal into 2, thus allowing to you to input into both the Left and the Right without having to daisy chain the sub to itself. If using XLR cables, you could use a splitter like this:http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=seismic+audio+sa-y2We also have these available in 3 and 5' versions. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks,Rusty |

User questions & answers
Question: | What are the dimensions of the plate |
Answer: | Hi,Thanks for your interest in Seismic Audio and our selection of Pro Audio gear! These SA-APT002 should have dimensions of 15" x 6.25" x 3.5" (HxWxD). I believe the mounting dimensions are 14.25" x 6" x 3.5" (HxWxD).Thanks,Rusty |
Question: | What is the rms output when you attach it to an 8 ohm speaker using the speakon connector |
Answer: | Hi Robert, The Speakon Satellite output is stable down to 8 Ohm and is outputting 250W RMS. This will not draw power away from the amp's main full range output, also 250W RMS at 8 Ohm. Thanks, Rusty |
Question: | Is this amp 2ohm stable |
Answer: | I have no idea, I didn't try it with that. But I'd be hesitant to risk it. Frying amps is a very unpleasant experience. |
Question: | Is the speaker output for a none amplified speaker |
Answer: | This is an amplifier. The speaker wires on the back are for non-amplified speakers. The XLR output is to share the incoming signal with powered speakers. Have a great day! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will it work on a yamaha EAD10 module for drums |
Answer: | Hi,Yes it can however, you would need to have an external power amp to power the speaker as this is not a powered speaker and the drum kit will not provide the wattage or power to produce the speaker sound. Thanks |
Question: | can this be used electronic drum kits |
Answer: | Hi Lindsay, Mr. KenBJammen's comment is pretty much spot on. These SA-10M will be suitable for smaller venues and are ideal for monitoring vocals and guitars. As a drummer myself, I mostly want bass and rhythm guitar in my monitor, with other instruments sort of "salt and peppered" into my monitor mix. If you find that you also prefer to have more bass and rhythm in your mix as well, then you may be better served by a stronger 15" monitor, such as our SAX-15M or FL-15MP. The SAX-15M is visible on Amazon at the moment, but the FL-15MP are currently out of stock. Also consider, these monitors are passive and you will require a separate power amplifier to power them. If you do not select a suitable rated amplifier, in terms of the wattage, then you end up underpowering (or overpowering) the monitors and in either case, this will lead to blown woofers and tweeters. You may also want to consider a powered a.k.a. active monitor, with the amplifier already built in, but this all depends on any existing equipment you have and plan to use. Feel free to email us directly at [email protected] if you would like any additional information or have any questions. Once we reply to this Amazon Answers question, we can not reply back or comment, so make sure to email us directly. Thanks, Rusty |
Question: | Will I be able to hear while I’m playing drums |
Answer: | Hello, thank you for your interest in the SA-10m monitor from Seismic Audio. Whether this will work on your stage will depend greatly on which musicians and guitar amps you have. I use this on stage with a fairly loud drummer, but a reserved guitar player with a single 12 combo. If you are dealing with someone with a Marshall half stack that "has to crank it to get his tone" it may not work. |
Question: | Can this compete with a full band and guitar amps, if used as a vocal monitor on stage |
Answer: | Yes. Has 'XLR in' and 'XLR thru' ports on the back |
- Model - SA-15.2 (Set of 2)
- Woofer -15" and each has a 50oz magnet with a 2” voice coil. 300 Watts RMS -600 Watts Peak

User questions & answers
Question: | What would be an appropriate amplifier to run a pair of these |
Answer: | at least 800 watts rms |
Question: | are the speakers powerd and can i chain link them with my berhingers |
Answer: | Hello Mark, the speakers are passive not powered. I am not sure what your berhingers are so I may not address that part of your question. If you mean set the speakers up in a series, I do not see why not. |
Question: | can you play a bass guitar through the speakers and will it handle in bass |
Answer: | Hi, You can not connect your bass directly to these SA-15.2 as they are passive 15" loudspeakers. You can connect your bass to a preamp (or bass guitar amp head), to amplify the signal from your bass, then output from the amp and connect to these SA-15.2. Each SA-15.2 is rated at 300W RMS at 8 Ohm. If you "daisy chain" these two speakers together, you will create a 600W RMS at 4 Ohm load. You would need to make sure your amp could support this wattage (600W RMS) at this impedance (4 Ohm). You would also need to use low gauge (12-16 AWG) speaker cable. Each SA-15.2 has a dual 1/4" jackplate, where either jack can be the input, then once the input is connected, the other jack becomes an output for daisy chaining purposes. As far as the level of bass you will get from these SA-15.2, it will certainly be bass you can hear, but these are not subwoofers, so it will not be bass you feel. Please email us directly at [email protected] if you have any questions. Once we reply to this Amazon Answers question, we can not reply back or comment. Thanks, Rusty |
Question: | Is it easy to be operated? I hope it will be not too hard to do that |
Answer: | …Were very easy to set up, and I just connected to the amplifier and then to the record player.…You can buy this amplifier if you are a lack of it. https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Audio-Amplifier-Integrated-Subwoofer/dp/B07JVFY27T |

Question: | I have a pair of 215 black widow PA speakers what would be the best thing to replace with |
Answer: | Hi George,Thanks for your interest in Seismic Audio and our selection of Pro Audio gear! I think these Quake-15 you referenced could certainly work, but they are not our top of the line 15" replacement woofers. This would be the Denali series, which can be viewed here:Denali-15Pair:https://www.amazon.com/Seismic-Audio-Denali-15-Pair/dp/B004Y6PY16/ref=sr_1_2?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1484578643&sr=1-2&keywords=denali-15Either would work, but the Denalis should provide a better overall tone, especially in the bass and mid frequencies. Thanks,Rusty |
Question: | What is the hole cut out for this speaker |
Answer: | Hi J, The Quake-15 woofers have a cutout diameter of 14 1/8". Please email us directly at [email protected] if you have any questions. Once we reply to this Amazon Answers question, we can not reply back or comment. Thanks, Rusty |

User questions & answers
Question: | whats the peak watts on these speakers |
Answer: | Thank you for asking. The peak capacity of the woofer is 1000. The amp is rated at 800. Have a great day!! |
Question: | do these speakers have a powered out put? if so, what are the max wattage outputs per speaker (without a filter |
Answer: | Hi Michael, The Aftershock-18 do have the powered Satellite output function. There are two female Speakon jacks toward the center of the amplifier section on the back of these Aftershock-18. Each Satellite output channel (Left and Right) is rated at 120W RMS at 8 Ohm and 200W RMS at 4 Ohm. Thanks, Rusty |
Question: | so i dont need to hook a amp to them |
Answer: | Hi Mark. Thank you for asking. You just need to send the line level signal from your mixer to them. Usually with an XLR cable. No additional amp required. Have a great day!! |
Question: | Does the lpf also limit what lows go to the satellites? in other words if set to 100 hz., does this then only pass above 100 hz out to the satellites |
Answer: | Hi Tom,The LPF only regulates the frequencies for the 18" woofer, it does not affect the satellite outputs, or the line-level XLR outputs. The satellite and line-level outputs will output the original signal you feed the sub. Thanks,Rusty |

User questions & answers
Question: | do this monitors need an amp? what would be recomended |
Answer: | Thank you for asking. These are passive speakers so they will need an amp to power them. Have a great day! |
Question: | what kind of amp do i need for these |
Answer: | Hello, thank you for your interest in the SA-10m monitors. The amp you need will depend greatly on your application. An amp that will provide 150 watts per speaker would be optimal. You could use the LE-3000 from Seismic Audio for these if you wanted. They would provide 350 watts per speaker, which is more than is necessary, but they will run as long as you keep from supplying too much power. Have a great day!! |
Question: | Will it work with the monitors out of my yamaha mg10x power mixer? or should i just daisy chain this from my powered jbl eon speakers |
Answer: | Hi Francis,Thanks for your interest in Seismic Audio and our selection of Pro Audio gear! This listing is for a pair of our SA-10M PASSIVE floor monitors. You will need a power amplifier to drive these passive SA-10M floor monitors. The Yamaha MG10X is a console mixer and does not feature a built in power amplifier, so I would not consider this Yamaha mixer to be a "powered" mixer. I can only find line-level outputs, i.e. XLR or 1/4" TRS. So, this means you can either use a separate power amplifier to power these floor monitors, or you can check out the active version of these speakers, our SA-10MT-PW, which can be viewed here:https://www.amazon.com/Seismic-Audio-SA-10MT-PW-Pair-Powered-Titanium/dp/B00CZRHOJQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1474037938&sr=8-2&keywords=sa-10mt-pwWith these SA-10MT-PW, you can either daisy chain them off of your powered JBL EON 15" speakers, or you can output from your Yamaha mixer's 1/4" monitor output and control them separately from the mains, from the mixer. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks,Rusty |
Question: | Do i have to plug in both holes |
Answer: | No, You don't! |

User questions & answers
Question: | do i need a amp to hook these babies up to my home stero |
Answer: | Hi, This may be a Yes and No answer. Your home stereo may already have some AMPLIFIED outputs, usually seen in the form of Red and Black binding posts or push lock terminals for raw speaker wire, to power some PASSIVE speakers. Usually the speakers for home stereo or home audio surround sound receivers are much smaller "bookshelf" style speakers, which typically require less wattage to "drive" or "power" than something like these full size Seismic Audio SA-15T. Each one of these SA-15T cabinets is rated at 350W RMS at 8 Ohm. Ideally your home stereo's AMPLIFIED output would be around 1.5 times this rating, or 350W RMS * 1.5 = 525W RMS at 8 Ohm. If your home stereo is rated around this 525W RMS at 8 Ohm per channel, then you are good to go. If not, you may want to look into going with a separate power amplifier for these SA-15T, something like our MBG-4000, which you can find on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/Seismic-Audio-MBG-4000-Power-Amplifier/dp/B007W4VN1M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1520266248&sr=8-1&keywords=mbg-4000 If you go this route, you will need to find some line-level output from your home stereo, something like the RCA red and white female jacks or an 1/8" headphone or "Auxiliary" output. This would need to be an OUTPUT not an input. This output would allow you to send the line-level signal from the home stereo into the MBG-4000 amp, so it can amplify this signal to speaker level, and send on to the SA-15T. If you go the route of a separate amp, you will need the line-level cable to get out of the home stereo and into the MBG-4000 amp, and the "speaker cables" to output from the amp and connect to the SA-15T speakers. You can email us directly at [email protected] if you have any questions. Thanks, Rusty |
Question: | How are these speakers powered? D cord |
Answer: | These are passive speakers. They can accept Speakon or 1/4" speaker cables. |
Question: | My amp says use 6-16 ohm speakers. does that mean 6 speakers at 16 ohms or 6 through 16 ohm. these speakers are 8 ohm. do i have an option? sean b |
Answer: | Hi Sean, This 6-16 Ohm on your amp/receiver is indicating the impedance of the speakers you may connect to each channel. You are typically more interested in the lower number, this 6 Ohm, as this is the LOWEST STABLE IMPEDANCE for these output channels of your receiver. With impedance, the lower the number, the more work is being done. This amp is telling you that it can go down to 6 Ohm, but no lower. Should you connect a lower impedance speaker, or chain of speakers, then the output channel of the amp will fry. Since these SA-15T are rated at 8 Ohm, your amp can support one per channel, at least in terms of the impedance. You must also consider the wattage output of your amp, at this impedance of 8 Ohm. These SA-15T are rated at 350W RMS at 8 Ohm. You would want to at least match this wattage rating, with the ideal wattage rating being around 1.5 times the wattage of the speakers, or 350 * 1.5 = 525W RMS at 8 Ohm. This would be the ideal power rating for the amplifier you are using to drive these SA-15T. If your amplifier is rated lower in terms of wattage than this 350W RMS at 8 Ohm, then you will be underpowering these SA-15T and this could lead to poor performance from the speaker, when it is not the fault of the speaker. Please email us directly at [email protected] if you have any questions. Once we reply to this Amazon Answers question, we can not reply back or comment. Thanks, Rusty |
Question: | How to i hook up this pair of speakers to a europower PMP 4000 mixer |
Answer: | Hi, You should be able to use Speakon cables to connect from the powered outputs of your Behringer PMP4000 to one of the Speakon input jacks on each speaker. You can check out our 25 foot Speakon cables, product code TW12S25 here: TW12S25Pair: https://www.amazon.com/Seismic-Audio-TW12S25Pair-25-Feet-Speakon/dp/B004HKMROQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1503070124&sr=8-1&keywords=tw12s25pair Thanks, Rusty |

User questions & answers
Question: | Where is the instructions for this at |
Answer: | Hello, thank you for your interest in the RSG-12 from Seismic Audio. There should be a user's guide in the box when you get one. If you have questions about the unit, feel free to call 901-363-6030 between 9am and 5pm Central Time, Monday-Friday. Have a great day! |
Question: | Is the 12” speaker better than 15” for vocals |
Answer: | Hi Mister Manster, Yes, the 12" models will be slightly better for vocals as they will have a cleaner mid range compared to the 15", but the 15" would give you a little bit better bass response. However, the bass response from the 15" would not matter if you are using subwoofers as well. Thanks, Rusty |
Question: | Can I add a Shure microphone wirelessly to this? If so how do i do that |
Answer: | Hello, thank you for your interest in the RSG-12. If you have a different wireless received, for instance one made by Shure, you would connect it to one of the XLR inputs. You would not be able to use a different wireless transmitter with the built in wireless receivers. Have a great day! |
Question: | How many hours battery last |
Answer: | Hi Same, You can expect 2-4 hours of battery life, depending on how loud you play the speaker. Thanks, Rusty |

User questions & answers
Question: | How would these Pro audio pa speakers work in an acoustic guitar amp |
Answer: | Hello, thank you for asking. It depends on if we are replacing a woofer and a tweeter. If there are already separate separate connections for a woofer and tweeter then you just put it in and connect them as appropriate. It would be helpful to know the crossover point in that situation. Now if there is no current tweeter then you would need to add a crossover. Around 2.5khz is what we normally set. If there is not current tweeter the current EQ output may be a little hot in the high end depending on how the amp was engineered. |
Question: | Does this speaker have a built in tweeter? i'm looking for a replacement speaker for a roland pm-10 that has a built in tweeter that is 10" @ 8 ohms |
Answer: | Hi Earl,Thanks for your interest in Seismic Audio and our selection of Pro Audio gear! These CoAx-10 coaxial woofers do include the high frequency tweeter driver (including the tweeter diaphragm). This listing is for one of these CoXa-10 woofer/tweeter units. Thanks,Rusty |
Question: | are there seperate connections for high and low on speaker |
Answer: | Hi, Each component, the woofer and tweeter, will have their own positive and negative terminals. You can sort of see this on the 3rd picture, which shows the woofer pointed down and you can see the terminals on the woofer, and you can barely make out one of the terminals for the tweeter driver. Thanks, Rusty |
