The new TB-3 is equipped with a brightly lit, pressure-sensitive touch pad that lets you seamlessly create patterns and interact with the unit during performance. In addition to pitch and volume, you can tweak filters and even control modulation by simply pressing down on the pad with your finger. It also makes the keyboard a breeze to play.
The Lineage
Nobody could have anticipated what would happen to the world of dance music when inventive musicians on both sides of the Atlantic embraced Roland’s now-legendary TB-303. Since the 1980s, it’s been a staple of electronic music—it is the defining sound of acid house, and has since been the marquee instrument on an array of groundbreaking electronic dance tracks. It’s not only been used to write songs, it’s had songs written about it. In fact, the release of the original TB-303 has been heralded as one of the key events in the history of dance music. Not bad for a little silver box.
The Sound
In developing the TB-3, we’ve meticulously analyzed the circuitry of the original TB-303 piece by piece, right down to the individual circuit behavior. Using Analog Circuit Behavior (ACB) technology, we’ve fully reproduced the TB-303’s sawtooth and square wave oscillators, as well as the -18dB per octave ladder low-pass filter used in the original, capturing that unmistakable cutoff and resonance character. In addition to the faithful reproduction of>TB-3 is packed with new sounds that live and breathe. Bubbling synth basses, hard distortion basses, trippy delay sounds, and drippy effects—they’re all here, and then some.
The Feel
Launched in 1981, the TB-303 continues to be an indispensable bass synth for dance music. A TB-303 bass part not only sounds unique—it has its own trademark feel as well. The TB pulses. It drives. It bubbles and it percolates. That’s why we’ve worked so hard to faithfully reproduce the accent, slide, and step sequencer behavior of the original unit. But our vision went beyond simple reproduction. The truth is, the step entry on the original TB-303 was difficult to use, the keyboard was difficult to play, and special maneuvers were required for the shuffle functions. So we experimented with a variety of prototypes in our quest to create the optimal TB interface.
Product description
The battery-powered TB-03 is a direct descendant of the famous TB-303 bass line synth. The layout and controls are unchanged, so it works Just like the original. It sounds like it too, thanks to Roland advanced ACB technology that recreates the hypnotic liquid grooves of the magic silver box. But the new TB-03 goes even further, with several enhancements not found on the original model. The four-digit LED display makes programming easier and more accurate, while overdrive and delay effects let you unleash a twisted, tribal wall of sound to send the crowd into a frenzy. Back in the studio, The TB-03 can send control information via MIDI or its USB port, The latter of which also functions as a audio interface.
- Realistic recreation of the iconic tb-303 bass line Synth
- New features not found on the original tb-303, including four-digit LED display, overdrive and delay effects, MIDI, fine tempo control, and additional functions for pattern creation
- Retains the sound, character, and user interface of the original tb-303
- Hands-on control over expressive parameters, including cutoff, resonance, envelope mod, decay, and accent
- Programmable via classic pitch, time, and step write modes
User questions & answers
Question: | Why does this cost almost double the list price |
Answer: | yes |
Question: | Is this unit monophonic or polyphonic |
Answer: | There is a port in the back for headphones or speakers. It really doesn't need more volume if you intend to use it at home. I find that the volume control on the piano itself is more than enough for home use. |
Question: | Can i use a usb power supply on this? no way i am going to keep feeding it batteries, and it is staying in the studio anyway. tia |
Answer: | No. You can only use Bluetooth to connect it to Roland’s app or other Bluetooth midi enabled apps like Garageband |
Question: | Can you connect a tb-03 unit to a k25m keyboard? does doing that do anything for you |
Answer: | Yes, the FP-10 ships with a foot pedal. |

Question: | Which cords do i need to connect to the t8xs drum machine |
Answer: | I did not hang them on a wall, they were tied to a card with a piece of ribbon for my project. If I were to hang them on a wall, that would have to be done with some small finishing nails. |
Question: | Does this come with a keyboard or is it just the knob and switch part |
Answer: | I bought these for a wedding to place our guest at their tables. There are three different keys. They are inexpensive , if you need a key for your cabinet they might be worth trying. |

Everything You Love About Vintage JUNOs—In One Synth
For many, vintage Roland JUNO synthesizers define the sound of the ‘80s. Increasingly popular on the used market, many keyboardists either want one, or deeply regret selling one back in the day. With the JU-06A you get the sound, look, and features of both the JUNO-60 and JUNO-106 in one reliable, modern instrument that you can take anywhere.
The JU-06A is compact, yet comfortable for long studio sessions and epic live performances. It runs on batteries and has a handy built-in speaker, so JUNO goes where you go. The tough metal panels and smooth sliders with metal shafts feel great and stand up to the rigors of life on the road (even if it's just your daily commute). And it totally looks the part, with the authentic vintage styling we all know and love.
Two classic JUNOs in one
The JU-06A is the best of the JUNO-60 and JUNO-106 in one synth. It has the continuous high-pass filter of the 106, the envelope-controllable pulse-width-modulation of the 60, and the unique filter behavior of both, instantly switchable from the front panel. The sound is indistinguishable from its vintage counterparts, even while tweaking controls or using extreme settings. And no vintage JUNO would be complete without the swirling sound of its legendary chorus, faithfully recreated, right down to the lovable (and thankfully adjustable) noise.
Arpeggio, chord memory, and step sequencer
While you may prefer the filter of the JUNO-106, you might miss the arpeggio function on the JUNO-60. The JU-06A has both—and throws in chord memory and an onboard sequencer to boot. Creating sequenced lines with chord memory results in polyphonic phrases so thick they have no business coming from something that fits in your backpack.
MIDI, USB and external clock input
With USB audio/MIDI and full-sized MIDI jacks, you play and synchronize with just about any piece of gear. There’s also an external clock input, so you can sync to vintage analog instruments or modern Eurorack systems. Not only is this convenient, but using external clock to drive the onboard sequencer can result in unexpected phrases, rhythmic variations, and other happy accidents.
Add keys and more
Its compact size means the JU-06A fits just about anywhere, easily controlled from a master keyboard or DAW. Add a DK-01 Boutique Dock for a polished look and three convenient tilt positions. Or add a K-25m Keyboard Unit and you have a totally self-contained, portable instrument offering an unleashed experience free of wires and other complications.
