  • 9 inches

User questions & answers

Question: Will this hold a 23” penny whistle
Answer: It might? I would be careful of outdoor events and wind knocking it over. I love both of mine for my piccolos..... An exceptionally well made product.
Question: Does this attach to any music stand? How strurdy is it? And will it hold a flute and a piccolo
Answer: I find it is not really really sturdy, on a regular folding stand, but it isn't bad if you place it all the way down and lean in on the legs. I would not put my flute on it, only the piccolo. Another reviewer said it works really well on a Manhasset style stand, which has a thicker pole. I do like the fact that it is then off the floor, and safer.
Question: How large is the diaphragm for the peg? the official website sells 6.5mm and 9mm variants and the can/uk amazon websites say its 6.5mm
Answer: I don't know what "diaphragm" means here, but if you mean the diameter of the post that you slide the piccolo on, mine is 6.5 mm.
Question: Is one available that also works for flute, or both flute and piccolo
Answer: I would not put a flute on something like this--a flute is too heavy, it will not stay. It will (barely) hold a piccolo, but you need a sturdy stand, not one of the wire ones. This holder could be much better, if they redesign the part that holds onto the stand, so that it is much sturdier. But for now it would be better to have a stand on the floor, that has a flute peg and a piccolo peg. I actually don't like leaving my instruments on the floor either, so I am hoping for that redesign!!

Question: Does this stand hold the C flute
Answer: My wife has a C flute and it works fine for hers.
Question: what material is it made of
Answer: I bought this for one of my flute students. It is plastic with metal legs. She has had it for a while and it seems to hold up pretty well.

User questions & answers

Question: This looks more like a piccolo stand. Will it hold one
Answer: These handy stands come in a variety of sizes. You need to get the piccolo stand if that's what you need. I have one of these stands for my C flute and another for my Alto--the size really matters. Never play my piccolo in ensemble, so I don't need a stand for it. The smaller sizes are so compact you could carry them in your pocket. Best to place them where they won't be stepped upon or kicked. Very useful!

User questions & answers

Question: Would this hold a piccolo
Answer: No. It is a flute stand only. I do recommend the separate piccolo stand, which is similar in design. I have both. They are lightweight & stable.
Question: What item number is this? Is it a 15262 (piccolo) stand or 15232 (flute stand
Answer: Hi, this is the flute 15232, the piccolo stand can be found with this amazon title- K & M Piccolo Stand Regular 6Mm Peg Best Regards Ian, Sound Biz
Question: What is the material of which the shaft is made
Answer: It appears to be a hard plastic. It's a matte finish and is rigid and fairly hard, but it doesn't seem to be capable of scratching the flute. The folding feet are definitely metal, and are clearly a different material of the shaft.
Question: Do the feet have rubber, plastic, or felt? Would it be safe on hardwood
Answer: The legs are metal, and covered with plastic. It would be fairly safe on hardwood, as the stand, along with a flute, wouldn't be excessively heavy. If you wanted additional peace of mind, you could attach a little bit of felt to the legs. It's a remarkably sturdy stand, for something so compact.

K & M Piccolo Stand Regular 6Mm Peg

K & M

Based on 116 reviews Check latest price

Product description

K & M represents the highest innovation in instrument stands today. This peg-style piccolo stand collapses for ease in transport and storage. Perfect for the studio or the orchestra hall.

  • 4-leg flute stand
  • Black finish
  • Robust steel core
  • 6.5mm diameter rubber peg
  • For holding soprano and piccolo flutes

User questions & answers

Question: Can I use this for a recorder
Answer: I don't know the dimensions of a recorder, including how long it is. The peg is 4 1/4" long/tall, and just over a quarter of an inch in diameter. If my memory serves me correctly and a recorder is fairly big in diameter, then no this wouldn't work. K&M has a similar model flute stand with a peg that is also 4 1/4" long/tall, but is about 3/4 of an inch in diameter. If that diameter would work for a record, go with the flute stand. You don't want too much play {no pun intended} in the width of the peg versus the width of the instrument, or the instrument will be likely to flop around and damage the instrument.
Question: I have an Armstrong silver piccolo. Is this stand the right size for silver piccolos
Answer: Yes, will work fine for silver, wood, plastic. Piccolo in key of C or Db.
Question: Could this hold my flute while my piccolo is in use? I'm looking for a stand that can hold either (not nessecarily at the same time
Answer: Valentino flute and piccolo peg. The piccolo peg is screwed onto the top of the flute peg. It will hold either flute or piccolo, but not at the same time.
Question: Hi, does anyone know if this will fit a tenor recorder
Answer: This piccolo stand is designed safely to support an instrument with a bore of 7-11 mm and a length of about 33 cm. If the tenor recorded is much bigger - or heavier - then it would not be safely supported by the piccolo stand. The stand is really designed just for a concert piccolo. I would not trust a longer or larger-bored instrument on it.

Question: is it flexible to hold different instruments
Answer: It is. I bought 2. One for my fender strat and another for an acoustic guitar. It holds both perfectly.
