12 best flute with stands

Flute stands are accessories designed to support and hold flutes when they are not being played. Here is some information about flute stands and their relationship to related categories:

  1. Flute Stands: Flute stands come in various designs and materials, but their primary purpose is to provide a safe and convenient place to rest a flute when it's not in use. They help protect the instrument from damage by preventing it from being placed on hard surfaces or accidentally knocked over.

  2. Types of Flute Stands: There are two main types of flute stands:

    • Portable Stands: These are compact and often collapsible stands that can be easily transported. They are ideal for musicians who need to move between different performance locations or practice spaces.

    • Home or Studio Stands: These are larger, more stable stands designed for use in a permanent practice or performance area, such as a music studio or living room. They provide a secure and accessible place to keep the flute between playing sessions.

  3. Materials: Flute stands are typically made from materials like metal (such as aluminum or steel), plastic, or wood. The choice of material can affect the stand's stability, durability, and aesthetic appeal.

  4. Wind Woodwind Accessories: Flute stands fall under the category of wind woodwind accessories, which includes various accessories designed for wind instruments like flutes, clarinets, saxophones, and oboes. These accessories can include reeds, ligatures, cleaning tools, and stands.

  5. Instrument Accessories: Instrument accessories encompass a wide range of products designed to enhance the playing experience and care of musical instruments. In addition to stands, this category includes items like cases, straps, mouthpieces, and maintenance tools.

  6. Musical Instruments: Flutes themselves are musical instruments classified as woodwind instruments. They produce sound by blowing air across a hole or embouchure plate and are known for their beautiful and versatile tones. Flutes are commonly used in various musical genres, including classical, jazz, and contemporary music.

Using a flute stand is a practical way to keep your flute safe and easily accessible during practice or performance. It helps prevent damage to the instrument and allows musicians to focus on playing without the need to constantly pick up and put down the flute. When choosing a flute stand, consider factors such as portability, stability, and material to ensure it meets your specific needs.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this support Eb clarinet
Answer: This stand is too small for any clarinet. The clarinet wobbles and the bell ends up rubbing on the legs of the stand, not on the bulb end of the stand
Question: what is the diameter of the part that sticks into the flute
Answer: The post that sticks into the flute is 5/8 inch in diameter. Do you want it to support a flute? I bought it as a stand for my B flat clarinet and soprano sax. Pretty good for the clarinet but very poor for the soprano sax. But I modified the base of the stand so now it's great for the sax. Let me know if you have other questions. Richard
Question: Will this stand work for an alto flute
Answer: I tried this based on the "yes". It does not work. The weight of the flute pulls it right over. Absolutely does not work.
Question: Does this stand support a B-Foot Flute
Answer: We believe it can hold a B-foot flute.

User questions & answers

Question: Main description includes a sax, but the details omit that. I don't see how it would hold a sax. Is that description accurate
Answer: Whoever said that may have been thinking of a soprano sax. It was not stable enough for mine.
Question: How tall is it
Answer: I don't know how many inches tall it is, but it is just right for a trumpet.
Question: Will this hold a didgeridoo
Answer: I would say not, because a flute is a narrow instrument and only 36 inches tall. It is also light weight. I would say to look for a stand that goes with the size of a didgeridoo, with a taller pole to support the instrument. I would look more toward a trumpet or trombone stand. Good luck.
Question: Will it hold a soprano sax
Answer: No. It won't and don't try it. Get a Hercules soprano sax stand. It is strong enough for the weight of the sax. Don't try to use any flute stand.

User questions & answers

Question: Is it possible to purchase a flute and piccolo pegs for my Hercules alto flute stand
Answer: Yes, what you see is the actual product you will be receiving if ordered.
Question: Is this good for conical bore piccolos
Answer: Hi! Thanks for the question. Just add the trumpet/cornet peg to your order and you should be good to go! Please let us know if you have any additional questions.http://www.amazon.com/Hercules-DS501B-Trumpet-Cornet-PEG/dp/B000EENAMC/ref=sr_1_57?m=AJRBH136ZIOA5&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1378236242&sr=1-57
Question: Is it compatible with alto and tenor baroque recorders
Answer: I would suggest trying your sax with any other clarinet stand you might have access to. If that works, this will also. the flare at the base is only designed for a standard clarinet bell and the sopranino is a bit larger.
Question: Can another clarinet peg screw in to the piccolo threads? I already have the single stand for my Bb, but will be playing a C and A in a concert
Answer: No, the supplied peg is too thick for an oboe’s Bell. You need an oboe peg.

User questions & answers

Question: how tall is the pestle
Answer: The post that goes into the flute is about 4 3/4" by 9/16"
Question: Does the peg screw into the base so it can be taken apart for more portability
Answer: It is about 7" by 2 7/8". It isn't particularly easy to assemble and disassemble, it's a bit heavy, and it's an awkward shape to put in a bag with flute and music. It looks like the arrangement to keep the legs in place when it's open would wear out if it was assembled and disassembled frequently. On the other hand, it makes an excellent stand for a location where you could leave it in place. The weight and the he tripod legs makes it very stable. I find the K&M stand much more suitable for portable use. I've had one for years and its solid, steady, light and durable. It's very easy to assemble and disassemble. The legs fold up and fit inside the stem that holds the flute. Packed for travel it's about 5 1/4" by 1". To assemble it, you just unscrew the legs from the stem, unfold them (they pretty much fall into place), then screw the legs back onto the stem, which holds the legs open and completely stable. Disassembly is the reverse. It's really easy to screw or unscrew the legs when they are extended. You just hold the stem and give the legs a spin which screws or unscrews them. In theory, 4 legs aren't as stable as a tripod, but I haven't found it to be a problem. I bought the Stagg stand when I thought I had lost my K&M stand. Then the K&S stand reappeared, and I now have the perfect setup. The Stagg stand is permanently at home in my music room, and the K&S stand stays in my bag ready to go when I take the flute somewhere.
Question: Can this be used for a piccolo trumpet
Answer: Yes, the peg and upside down funnel shaped piece unscrew as one unit.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this work with a piccolo trumpet? It seems a bit long
Answer: No, I don't think it would be the correct fitting for the B trumpet. I don't know specifically for the Eb trumpet.
Question: Hi. What is the diameter of the metal part that sticks up
Answer: I have played and held a sopranino saxophone, it will probably wobble ever so slightly....but I doubt it would actually follow over. The sliding motion of the peg makes me think that this would be OK
Question: Can peg be replaced
Answer: I used this material to replace the head and valve gaskets for both my 2 HP Sears aircompressors. Both 1/32 and 1/16. Used gasket sealer Super 300 (Permatex). Workes well. Best to cut this dense material with quality sewing scissors so as to get a clean cut and not tear material. Retorque twice as the material compresses.
Question: Has anyone experienced the peg coming off? It is NOT a quality problem, but I need to know how to fix it. Peg and spring are separate from axis
Answer: From oreillyauto Thickness (in): 1/16 Inch Width (in): 12 Inch Length (in): 18 Inch Material: Compressed Fluid Type: Gas, Oil, Coolant Temperature Range (Deg F): 350 Degree

Answer: I use it for a bass clarinet and Leblanc contra-bass clarinet (paperclip style). Should work for a contra-alto clarinet.
Question: Does the peg work for a Sopranino sax
Answer: I would say, yes, or no. Because it is shipped from Japan, when you choose a standard shipping, it reach you about 2 -4 weeks after you place an order. User questions & answers

Question: Will this work for English Horn
Answer: I think so. The problem consists in cutting the gasket at the correct width by making first a mark after placing the spoiler on top of the material. The material is high quality.
Question: would the peg fit an oboe
Answer: This is not a suitable material for head gaskets. It intended to seal relatively low pressures. The other problem is that head gaskets need to be precisely the correct thickness, otherwisecompression ratio of engine is changed. This material is much thicker than a typical head gasketin a small engine.
Question: I need a peg that will fit my yamaha d/eb trumpet bell. the standard trumpet pegs are too fat. is such available
Answer: Yes they did, i have in my Corvette L98 350 its the same headers like my Camaro Z28 94 LT1 ;)
Question: Would this peg work with a sopranino saxophone
Answer: Yes, these will work for that application. -- EM @ Holley Technical Support
