Answer:	Ask your Band Teacher. They usually want every alto sax player using the same mouthpiece and same reed brand and strength . That being said, the 2.5 is an excellent reed. I played on a 2.0 strength for 1st year.

Answer:	Good question! For an adult beginner, I would recommend a Vandoren 2 or 2.5. Even for an adult jaw, a Vandoren strength 3 is probably a bit too stiff.

Answer:	I don't quite understand what you mean by size but I suppose/guess you mean strength. If so, the strength is specified by the supplier and there is a chat which shows the relationship between Reed strength by different supplier. For example a reed strength of 3.0 by Vandoren may be equivalent to a reed strength of 2.0 by Rico. Reed strength is specific it does not adjust. Hope my long explanation is good enough and not too boring.

Answer:	They each have their own "color" I liked this sample pack because I was able to test them each without having to buy a box of each. It really depends what kind of sound you are after. My favorite is the zz but they are all good in my own opinion.

Answer:	I have never used the legere signature. Actually. This is the first time using a synthetic reed. I have used 2.5 and 3.0 reeds. With that said, I love this reed. I debated whether to a 2.25, but I am happy with the 2.5. I think you'll be fine with this 2.5.

Developed in 1983 for jazz and popular music, the JAVA reed incorporates a thicker tip and a more flexible palette than the Tradational reed which allows the reed to vibrate over a larger surface area with maximum elasticity. This type of vertebral column gives the musician much greater playing flexibility, as the resultant elesticity zone is very large. Answer:	Java are some of the top of the line reeds. They are used for smoother more controlled sound, typically for jazz. Rico are good for beginners, but vandoren and vandoren java have better sound quality control, especially as you begin to advance in music capabilities, experience and broadening styles.

Answer:	I actually found the Vandoren Java Red Reeds to be a little more consistent for performing use compared to the regular green box Java Reeds. I still like both though.
