User questions & answers
Question: | Is this a hypoallergenic type of rosin? Does it create a lot of dust |
Answer: | Not really. I believe Andrea make s a cello solo rosin. |
Question: | is it full-cake |
Answer: | Yes. I use it for my full size and it works wonderfully. I imagine it could be used for a 3/4 or 7/8 as well. It's a really wonderful product and I fully recommend it. It makes it easy to practice when the instrument is already out and saves space by not needing a stand and a chair. |
Question: | I received this product in the mail and it is red/brown, even though the label says A Piacere. My last one was green, did the formula change |
Answer: | I will preface this with the fact that my son is young so we are using this for a 1/2 sized cello at the moment. His cello is held very securely when not in use. There is a rubber bumper around the bottom part of the stand and padding as part of the seat on top but his instrument rests on and against the wood itself. I suspect that a full sized cello will rest on the bumper and possibly the padding on top. We have had no issues with it not being padded for his instrument. As our space is limited, I love that this stand doubles as a seat. It look nice in the space as well |
Question: | is it full-cake |
Answer: | No. |

This small cake of Andrea Solo Rosin is a convenient and more economical size. Andrea Solo is crafted for soloistic playing, and enables a powerful yet sensitive sound, giving presence, a sense of security and ease of articulation. Andrea Rosin was first introduced in 2002 as Tartini Rosin. Tartini Rosin was quickly recognized as distinct among rosins by world-renowned string players and string lovers, leading to great demand and worldwide distribution. In September 2005, Andrea Bang introduced an upgraded version called "Andrea", which was designed to provide even more sensitive and sophisticated sound enhancement than "Tartini." In 2009, Cremona in America re-introduced Andrea rosin with improved performance, and a new look. Andrea Rosin is now available for violin, viola or cello in three styles.

ANDREA "Sanctus" rosin uses a unique formula that is the first in the world to combine two separate parts in a single cake of rosin. The main base of the formula is hydrogenated to have excellent oxidation resistance, which ensures the consistent quality performance experience throughout its long-lasting usage of the rosin. The center part is a newly enhanced formula based on ANDREA's "SOLO," and it is physically softer and thicker. The outer part is formulated to have harder and drier characteristics to give balance in sound and to protect the soft center formula of the rosin. The donut shaped outer rosin is made first, and then the center formula is poured into the hole of the outer rosin. It is still all hand poured which makes the process even more challenging.Available for violin, viola, and cello.
