User questions & answers
Question: | Anything of same quality but smaller in size? Bought one without realizing the size and weight. Looking for something for practice and jamup with |
Answer: | Yes, you can use a mic with this amp. |
Question: | How is the driver improved? is it a servo speaker? im interested in response and snr |
Answer: | Yes, the adapter has about a 4-6 foot long AC power plug, and about 10 feet of low voltage DC cable to the speaker cabinet. I bought two matching units, one for each channel of my Nord Grand piano. I love them! At about 25% power to the amps, gain way down on the Nord, it sounds so much like a big grand harp/string piano. Can shut my eyes and am sitting behind my mother's Kimball from my childhood... lots of room/power left to play to a bigger venue also. |
Question: | Is this a Stereo amp |
Answer: | The AMP has three pre-amps, gains and input jacks, however it only has one power amp/master output, so it would "squish" Stereo into mono. I bought two of these amps and use them with a Nord Stage Grand, one left, one right channel. At approximately 25% of full power with the two amps, it is at least as loud as an acoustic string/harp Grand like a Kimball or White. If you have a stereo instrument, like a piano, best to get two amps and use them as a pair if you want the spacial quality of stereo, like in acoustic performance settings. If you are only looking for a monitor amp and intend to feed into a large PA, then one might work fine. |
Question: | Is the 100W amp loud enough for live rock-n-roll (keys, guitar, bass, drums, vox) in small to medium sized clubs |
Answer: | Weighs around 50LB Approx 2' X 2' X 1.5' makes it easy to travel with. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Would this amp power external stereo speakers |
Answer: | you can use a monitor with it and a sub woofer, but I have never tried using external passive speakers. |
Question: | How is the sound at low volume? does it have wheels |
Answer: | Hello Rich, No wheels, lies flat on the floor. Quite heavy, so it stays in my basement music room. I think it sounds good at low volume, but that is rather subjective. Also, I was originally playing through a Fender Princeton Chorus guitar amp, which really isn't made for keyboards. By the way, my keyboard is a Roland Juno-88. I hope this helps. |
Question: | Can this handle a bass with a low b string |
Answer: | I am using it with a Hammond SK2 keyboard. When I hit the lower keys it plays loud enough for our bass player to turn around and look so depending on how loud you play, I'm guessing it would do the job |
Question: | Is there an insert hole on the bottom of the amp for a pole mount stand? in particular, is this speaker compatible with roland's st-a95 amp stand |
Answer: | I don't know about Roland's stands but there is no hole in the bottom. This is a heavy amp so I wouldn't do that. It's a great keyboard amp. |

Roland FP-30X Digital Piano
When quality counts but budget is a factor, the FP-30X is the sweet spot of Roland’s FP-X series. Balancing affordability with superior performance, this slim and stylish portable piano builds on the entry-level FP-10 with an enhanced sound engine, more powerful onboard speakers, and increased polyphony. Featuring Roland’s SuperNATURAL Piano technology and the same expressive 88-note PHA-4 Standard keyboard as the premium FP-60X, the FP-30X is the perfect home instrument for seasoned players. And with its easy-to-transport weight and Bluetooth connectivity for lessons and play-along audio, it’s an ideal choice for any pianist who wants to develop their skills or perform at small events.
Authentic acoustic touch and tone.
Forget the lightweight keyboards on typical portable pianos—with a single key strike on the PHA-4 Standard keyboard, you’ll instantly know the FP-30X stands above the rest. With 88 full-size keys, this piano allows for a complete range of expression as your technique and composition skills grow. And with hammer action, escapement, and ivory feel, you’ll enjoy the same touch beneath your fingers as a great acoustic instrument, right down to the subtle “click” feel as you depress a key. Behind the authentic feel and playability is Roland’s powerful SuperNATURAL sound engine, picking up all the nuances of experienced pianists and helping newer players develop more character and dynamics.
Impressive sound wherever you play.
The FP-30X’s powerful onboard stereo speakers deliver surprising power and character during performance, complementing the sound engine to further bring out the expression in your playing. And if you ever need more sound coverage, simply connect external powered speakers via the dedicated output jacks. For home practice, try the dedicated mode that adjusts the sound for optimum quality when the FP-30X is placed on a desktop, or connect headphones to the twin outputs for silent practice day or night, either solo or alongside your piano teacher.
The compact piano with big potential.
Portable meets professional in the FP-30X. With its amazingly compact footprint and very manageable weight, the instrument moves effortlessly between the most convenient and inspiring spots around your home, and is easily stored when not in use. The FP-30X also adapts as your technique develops, whether you place it on the KSC-70 stand for upright performance or bring added expression to your playing with the easily connected three-pedal KPD-70 unit or DP-10 damper pedal.
Play along with music tracks and learn faster with Bluetooth and USB.
The FP-30X keeps you focused on long-term learning with advanced connectivity. Use Bluetooth audio and your iOS or Android device to stream music through the piano speakers or headphones, play along with favorite artists, and sharpen up your skills by following online piano lessons. Take things further and use Bluetooth MIDI to connect to music composition apps like Roland’s Zenbeats or Apple’s GarageBand. And for a regime that stays fresh, hook up to Roland’s Piano Every Day app to automatically record and playback your daily practice activities using the piano tone of your choice. The FP-30X even features USB audio/MIDI connectivity, allowing you to interface with computers and record tracks in professional music production software.

Question: | Can I use the Cube with a mic that requires phantom power or do I need to get an adapter |
Answer: | Yes just buy a Pantom power box. They are cheap. I think I paid $24 for one that works great. |
Question: | Is this loud anough for busking? Wether your using a classical guitar or playing Blues Rock or Black Sabbath with a electric guitar |
Answer: | I use a classical guitar a jazz guitar and a fender. 50 watts is loud. I also use a rythmn machine and my voice comes out nice. |
Question: | Can you buy additional battery back plate to hold spare pack |
Answer: | I would contact Roland directly in regards to this. |
Question: | How would this handle a fender bass vi |
Answer: | I play a five string Fretless acoustic bass through it and as long as you are realistic about the low end capabilities, you are fine...I would never crank the gain on my active bass and try to blast at the peak volume, the speakers would die. A more expensive option would be the Phil jones briefcase, which doesn't come with a battery, but you can buy and install one to it. Short answer, yes if you are careful, if you have the money look into the Phil Jones Briefcase |

Every Eris-series studio monitor utilizes a woven composite, low-frequency driver. The weave and nature of the Eris E3.5’s 3.5-inch woofer result in a more constant dispersion pattern throughout the frequency range, resulting in less time-smeared audio and cleaner overall sound.
