Answer:	The wand with attachment is about 3 feet and the hose can be expanded another 6 to 8 feet. We have no problem using the hose attachment to clean furniture, stairs (up to 6 steps without moving) and ceilings.

Answer:	Best place is the Dyson web site, that way you know that you are getting the real thing rather than a cheap knock off that resembles the original but is not a real HEPA. Register your vac while you are there and they periodically have special discounts for owners of their products. I just replaced my 15 year old DC14 with one of these Multi Floor Origins 20% off $299 (retail price) owner discount and had just registered the DC14 it is replacing lol.

Question:	Two questions. 1. Does the cleaning solution have an odor (I have allergies)? 2. Can this be used to freshen an oriental area rug
Answer:	If you have allergies and an Oriental rug, I would get rid of the rug!! If it is an authentic hand knotted rug- then it's wool!! If you have allergies you MAY be allergic to the wool itself. ALso, I would have it professinally cleaned- not because YOU can;'t clean it, but wool rugs are incredibly heavy when wet and terribly difficult to properly dry completely. Unless you have a big backyard and live in the arid southwest, I would not attempt cleaning. I have a large wool rug from Afghanistan I tried cleaning myself (you have to use natural SOAPS AND NO ARTIFICIAL DETERGENTS!!) on wool- it weighed a ton when wet and took FOREVER to dry on a very hot wall in 114F degree summer heat. The wool just smells when it's wet, like a wet dog (wet sheep actually ;) so, next time it will be done by a pro who has the equipment, tools and dryer for them.

Answer:	I just read that the difference between the two: the 1785W is 3000 RPM's and the 1785A is 3500 RPM's.
Question:	Can you use your own solution
Answer:	I have a 20 yr old carpet cleaning Bissel and I use my own solution. Of course the manufacturer will only endorse their own cleaning products. They can't guarantee the results if you use something else. I use 3% hydrogen peroxide with hot water. Use a 1 to 5.5 ratio. (1 peroxide to 5.5 parts water) It cleans, disinfects, and is great for pet stains. Won't hurt your machine using this formula. Hint: Try a 1 to 1 ratio in a spray bottle for cleaning your shower, bathtub and tiles. It kills mildew on contact, nixes the scum on glass and brightens your tub.
Question:	Can this be used for dry vacuuming? And how does this clean grout between tile lines
Answer:	I have tried this for dry vac and tile grout. First off, it is really meant to suck up water. Yes, it will do large items on the floor but not fine dust and dirt from every day. It will suck it up with the water though. As for grout, if you have deep crevice grout, as in the grout is not flush with the top of the tile, you will still need to scrub the grout. I have both and then I also have uneven stone that has pores and crevices in the tile itself and it also doesn't do well on those but it does better than a regular mop EVER did.

Question:	What is the warranty on this vacuum
Answer:	Did you know that the suction can be adjusted? When I first started using it, I couldn't even hardly push it on my very dense carpet. Very dense deep pile carpet actually needs less suction. I adjusted the suction down to the lowest setting and it works great now. I still use high suction for our hardwood floors. I love this vacuum! It works great on all of our floor surfaces.
Question:	How many amps
Answer:	The floor brush can be turned off by setting the on/off switch to the middle or #1 position. The handheld brush is operated by the airflow and cannot be turned off. Hope this answers your question.
Question:	We have 6 cats, is this the best vac for cat hair
Answer:	I have 4 dogs, 2 cats and 14 Guineas pigs. I would Bieber buy another vacuum cleaner after the fiasco we had last time. I had always used Shark but made the mistake of purchasing another vacuum that was on sale - BIG mistake. Shark is incredible. We have had it for 4 years and it is still going strong. And 2 of our dogs are long haired German shepherds. This machine is quiet enough where I can actually put the nozzle into my piggy cages to clean them - it picked up small amounts of hay and all of their poo. Super simple. We are getting another because we're so impressed with it.

Answer:	I have the standard brush. I might have gone with the premium brush if I had hardwood floors. The standard brush model has a three-way power switch which I believe the premium also has (Off, Suction Only, Suction with Brush). The Suction Only works really well on tile. The Dust-Away attachment is nice but I only have tile and not much of it so I frequently vacuum, suction only, and mop as needed.

Answer:	According to the directions no, Two of my floors are not sealed though and I still use it, I try not to use as much water and I move a lot faster to get the little I use up fast but I haven't see any problems

There are solutions designed for use cleaning grout and another for wood floors.I like that it leaves the floor so dry that there are no steaks and so clean that you can feel the difference with your bare feet. As I said, I didn't have the previous version, all the technical information I found on different web sites and the last is my personal opinion and observation. I have other brands that called their brands (Shark, Bissell and others) that said they were cleaners or sanitizers and all they did was much around hot, dirty water. The only difference between them and mopping is that they were easier to push around, the water remained hot, and you were not bending over to wring it out. Even the ones that said they dried the floors, did not unless you went over them at least at least three times (it varied, depending on the humidity level). There is nothing worse than pulling up water that is not clean after you have used the machine at least twice. It is discouraging and disgusting. That is why I LOVE this one, it cleans using very little of the 2x solution (a small bottle is included) and then removes the water leaving you with a clean, dry floor without streaks. It is lightweight and I am nor writhing in pain when I finish.
Question:	How it cleaning corners and along baseboards? Does the unit go all the way to the baseboards
Answer:	To answer your question specifically, no, the machine cannot go flush up against the baseboard and into corners because the cleaning brushes are recessed a small distance from the front edge of the machine. There is also a small area on either side of a threshold when moving from one room to another which the machine doesn't clean very well. This happens with a change from one flooring material to another (i.e., vinyl to tile, vinyl to wood, wood to marble). But, overall, these baseboard, corner and threshold areas are small enough that I can use a soft cleaning tool such as a mop or sponge, to my satisfaction. I hope this helps.Judy

Answer:	The unit has an automatic brush shut off button. When the unit is reclined the brushes will spin and when you stand the unit in the upright the brushes will turn off automatically. I hope this helps!! Hoover Support

Answer:	Vacuums are loud, almost by definition. My old one was louder. On hard floors without the rotating brush it's just a little loud; with the brush it can't be called quiet.

Answer:	It does well getting under furniture.. depending on bed size you may need to use the hose to get all the way under the bed.
Question:	Consumer Reports ranked this bagless at number 35. Does that sound right or do you think it should be higher
Answer:	I'd rate it higher--I'd give it 4.5 out of 5. If it had fancier attachments with a little more reach, It'd give it a 5 out of 5, but the attachments are not so important to me. I give it a 5 out of 5 for ease of emptying out the dust bin and ease of access to filter. I am also amazed at how well it picks up both on carpet and tile, especially for the price. And so easy to steer and get around. Still very happy with it.
