User questions & answers
Question: | What is rms of this amp |
Answer: | I emailed behringer and they said to multiply the peak power rating by .7 and that gives you the rms rating. So this amp give 2,100 watts rms at 4 ohms and 1,100 watts rms at 8 ohms |
Question: | What is the watts rms at 8ohms per channel |
Answer: | 2 x 1600 watts 8 Ohms peak |
Question: | This amplifier can run into 240v input |
Answer: | No |
Question: | Is this amp similar to the I nuke |
Answer: | Hi, It is an improvement over the I-nuke. I use the 6000's and each makes full use of a 120V power source (you can not get more than that out of anything that plugs in) at high levels. The improvements lead to better speaker protection and lower distortion. -R |

Everything You Need, Nothing You Don't
The über-simple front panel controls of these amps give you all of your sound's vital signs at a glance. After flipping the MAIN switch, the POWER LED will light when the amp is ready for action. Both channels have independent gain dials as well as clip LEDs that indicate when the signal is distorted and you need to reduce the gain. There are also SIGNAL LEDs that light up when a signal is present at the input.
Panel Discussion
A panel of switches found on the back panel offers an array of cool options to apply to both channels of the EP2000 and EP4000. The Clip Limiter lets you get even more out of the amplifier without overdriving either it or your speaker system. Built-in circuitry automatically senses when the EP2000 or EP4000 is being overdriven into "clipping" and then momentarily reduces the input level to avoid clipping distortion. This all happens in a few thousandths of a second, so it's an inaudible way of avoiding audible clipping distortion. Of course, you can turn the Limiter off if you're feeling lucky.
Ultra-low frequency sounds (infrasonics) are caused by rickety stage vibrations, mic thumps and wind noise. While technically inaudible, they can cause a huge drain on amp power, potential damage to your speakers and a sludgy sound in the audible bass ranges. Both EP models feature a defeatable Low Cut Filter that chops off unwanted frequencies below 50Hz or 30Hz (depending on your PA system's capabilities).
The same panel contains the switches that allow you to put these amps to work in either stereo or bridge (mono) mode. Both the EP2000 and EP4000 can be linked to additional power amps by switching into parallel mode.
These Amps Have Guts
There's plenty of awesome features on the outside of the EP2000 and EP4000, but there's also a team of cool components on the inside helping it work its magic. They come loaded with famously reliable Toshiba/Fairchild power transistors as well as a high-current toroidal transformer for ultra-high transient response and further reliability. Independent DC and thermal overload protection on each channel automatically protects the amplifier and speakers from any show-stopping meltdowns. There's no need for fuses, giving you one fewer potential mid-gig headache.
The EP2000 and EP4000 have both XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs. Even the outputs are totally flexible, consisting of Speakon-compatible outputs and five-way binding posts. Whether you're dealing with bare wire or boutique audiophile cabling, the EP2000 and EP4000 are right at home.
The exhaust fan, visible on the back panel, is the final stage of an internal front-to-back cooling system that keeps these amps working in the mild temperatures they love, even through periods of extended use. Finally, an impact-resistant, all-steel 2U rackmount chassis helps these workhorses stand up to all the rigors of the road.
Accelerated Transient Response Delivers the Knock-Out Punch
It takes huge pulses of energy (current and voltage) to propel a woofer cone out fast enough to match a bass beat. That's called Transient Response and it's the holy grail of amp designers. By carefully selecting transistors with extremely highslew rates and optimizing other proprietary parts of our circuitry, our amps are able to react instantly to even the most demanding electronic bass impulses. If the woofers in your PA system can keep up, your audience will hear a tighter, crisper, more natural sound.
The Legend Powers On
If you read the reviews of the EP2000 and EP4000's older brothers, the EP1500 and EP2500, and it's clear that those amps are renowned not only for their performance and durability, but also their astoundingly low price tags. The EP2000 and EP4000 extend that legacy to the next level.

User questions & answers
Question: | How many libras weighs |
Answer: | That's exactly what I use it for. |
Question: | Input power 120v or 230v |
Answer: | It has a USB interface and comes with a USB cable. |
Question: | Can someone explain the clip limiter switch & why I'de want it on or why I'de want it off? How's this setting related to the clip light on the front |
Answer: | Yes! |
Question: | Can this be used for just powering the front left and right speakers rated at 10-250 watts rms and 600 max? or stick with onboard avr |
Answer: | I am very happy with the reverb and echo effects. I have the 1202FX. you have total control, I have a much bigger control and cost more but I like the control I have with the 1202FX reverb. I ran a 5 piece band with big equipment and this mixer could have ran the whole show. Wish I could have had it in the day. I would consider myself a pro, made a living at it for several years. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do this amp drive 4 sub of precision devices pdn |
Answer: | USB is limited to 2 channels each way (total of 4 channels) and is not configurable beyond that. This, in your case, you could have two mics panned to the right and the other two to the left, or any combination thereof, but there's only ever going to be 2 distinct channels going from mixer to PC (or Mac) via USB. |
Question: | How to buy 240v input of this amp |
Answer: | No, they won't plug into this in the way *I think* you want them to. There's a USB port on the back of this, but it's for interfacing with a computer, not for plugging USB microphones into it. Side note: I have an AT2020 USB, and I like it... but to use this mixing board with three AT2020s, you would need the XLR-type interface AT2020 mic, not the USB type. (Search for "AT2020 side address" on Amazon.) |
Question: | Does it come with power supply cord |
Answer: | It depends on two things - 1: what kind of mics you have and 2: if you need all of the audio recorded into separate channels on the computer. If you have 6 mics that are XLR or need phantom power, then this will not suit your needs - this can only power 4 XLR mics. (If you have what are called dynamic mics with 1/4" plugs - or self powered condensor mics that can use 1/4" jacks - then you are fine). For the second part (about separate channels) it really depends what you want to be able to do. The USB part of this mixer records just two separate channels into the computer - the same as the left and right main output of the mixer. So if you were to use 6 mics you would have them all recorded, but all together. (Thus, if someone was too quiet, you could not just turn them up after the fact.) You can use the panning to get two completely separate tracks, but that's clearly not enough for what you're trying to do. If you want to record all 6 tracks independently you will need something more expensive. I hope this helps! |
Question: | I have rcf 18" subwoofer 1800w,so would this amp work on 8ohms |
Answer: | One possible way to use the usb mic with this mixer ( and most mixers, due to interfacing) would be to run the usb mic into a PC, change the pc settings to mic monitoring, and run the audio out from the PC back into a channel on the mixer. Currently no one manufactures a USB female input to XLR Male output audio interface, to make the mic run with the board. You also may be able to link the mixer to your PC via the on-board USB mixer interface. Through the Behringer software you should be able map the USB mic to a bus in the mixer software for output. That would prevent you from having to run audio out of the PC with microphone monitoring enabled. Let us know if you have anymore questions. Thanks Dave @ DC Music Store |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it possible to power car subwoofers with this amp |
Answer: | Yes it is. I have a 2.1 stereo in my house. I've been powering a JBL W12 GTi MKII with my xli 3500 for years. Of course the amp is in my house and not in a car. |
Question: | Is this amp capable of driving 4 ohms - bridged mono? The manual does not specify |
Answer: | No.ill get a class h power amplifier,1100 to 1200 watts a channel.that way you wont be no strain on the amp, wont have to run its full power,,risking of burning up your amp or speakers |
Question: | will these crown xli series amplifiers work well for home theater use or would the fan noise be to much |
Answer: | I am using it in a home theater application. There is no fan noise at all. The Crown XLI series amplifiers are a great choice when considering a pro amp for home theater use. After finally getting one I wouldn't even think of getting anything else. |
Question: | watt speakers at 8ohms each. They are 360 watt peak each. Is this amp enough for these speakers. amp to speaker then spkr to speaker on ea ch |
Answer: | The output of the XLI 800 @ 8 ohms is 200 W per channel x 2 channels=400W. In my opinion this model is not the proper size for 4 100 watt speakers. Upgrading to the 1500, would be a better match. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this work if you run just one xlr cable to the input? will i get sound in both ears of my in ear monitors |
Answer: | 51.39 Libras If your question refers to the ancient Roman Libra... 1 pound = 1.40431074 libra |
Question: | Could i plug the p1 into a monitor mix (using a speakon -> male xlr cable) that's already powered via an amp? or would this blow things up |
Answer: | 120v |
Question: | For my monitor mix, would I come from the boards AUX channel? Or should I come from a power amplifier? Looking to not blow up my new toy |
Answer: | The Clip lights on the front relate to the output levels and their distortion of the the sound coming out of the amp. From the manual: "Should distortion occur, reduced the input level so that the CLIP LED stops lighting up." The Clip limiter switch on the back is related to the input level being fed to the amplifier and allow the amp to "automatically recognize distortion and lower amplification until distortion is reduced to a tolerable level." (also from the manual). It states that at moderate distortion it reduces the input level moderately, and at higher levels of distortion it reduces the audio level more. It seems to be weighted more to reduce the levels on the higher frequencies to protect tweeters (which DO tend to be more fragile) as opposed to woofers. Since I'm running mine in a three way system and the Behringer is only on the low end (~160 Hz and below) I have not engaged the input limiter using the back panel switches, but your application might benefit from that which is why I think they include that as a feature. |
Question: | Can i intercept some of the vocalist microphone audio and amplify for an earpiece? My vocalists needs to hear themselves but my mixer is far a way |
Answer: | It's a 2 ohm stable stereo power amplifier @ 2000 watts. It can also be bridged to mono @ a 4 ohm load. So, it sounds like it can be used in your application |

User questions & answers
Question: | can you use sep. effects petals, i have a volcal harminizer effects petal, can that be hooked up to my mic |
Answer: | Yes! It gives a clean sound, easy to carry, and loud enough for medium size places. I used these for church and they were perfect. |
Question: | Can I use it on 220V |
Answer: | 600 watts !!! No way, try to compare this with another amp such as Roland keyboard amp.I own a Behringer K1800FX, rated at 180 watts, same look and physical size as this one and I would say it delivers about 80 watts at most. This kind of output rating gives me lot of doubts about the manufaturers of lower quality brands (such as Behringer, Pyle, etc...). ROLAND, FENDER don't do that. |
Question: | Can I use this as a vocal amplifier/PA |
Answer: | I know this is an old question but my answer will apply to just about any amp with a stereo link. A stereo link allows you to connect another amp. The output sends the signal to another amp and the input receives the signal from another amp. Adding another KXD12 using the stereo link would give you a total of 8 channels to work with. I can also say that this will also function as a built in effects loop because I have used it that way. |
Question: | Is this amp mainly used for keyboards or acoustic guitars? What is it best suited for |
Answer: | Yes, this amp sounds nice for that. However, if you are looking for a LOUD amp this one might not be enough. I recommend you use a preamp or boost your output signal to the KXD12 for best results. It also works good when connected to a PA system. On a side note, I have had intermittent issues with the built in effects unit and the eq sliders are a bit delicate. Overall, for the money I paid, I’ve been happy with the KXD12. |

Answer: | Technically, it does not. I will paste the statement of 1 reviewer (Nathan) that pretty much sums it up. "You have to make your own power cord given the supplied Neutrik connector. A few feet of 10 gauge wire and a 20 or 30 amp end to plug it into 120v or 220v respectively and you are set." |
Question: | If i have 2 passive speakers (250w cont/1000w peak) will a 2000 watt amp be cutting too close? Should i go with a 4000 watt model |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this just split the audio, or does it actually "drive" headphones? If so, how many Ohms can it handle |
Answer: | No. This is an 8 channel headphone amp. It simply increases the response of multiple headsets used at one time, to boost the output of each headset in a recording studio setting. |
Question: | How do I use this with my laptop? I got male extensions but it doesn't seem to be working |
Answer: | We use inputs on the front of the panel and at the same time use some of the ins on the rear panel and it works fine. No issues with volume. Overall a good product for the small amount of money we paid for the item. |
Question: | is this just for volume control, or does it actually amplify bass, highs, lows, etc |
Answer: | Yes. Just run ear buds with an adapter |
Question: | does it come with the extender cord? compatible with M-Audio fast track - cord from the existing headphone jack to amp |
Answer: | Hello, to the best of my knowledge, a 220v version is not available in the US. I could not find a specification in the amplifier. A lot of power amps use universal power supplies that allows a voltage from 110 to 220 @ 60 or 50 Hz to be allowed. Usually that specification is marked on the amplifier at the AC input. I don’t see that on the power amplifier images. Hope this helps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have a jbl 18 inch woofer. 4000 watt peak 1000 watt rms 8 ohm. Any suggestions this doesnt appear that it will work either. please help |
Answer: | No, only speakers with the appropriate impedance should be connected to a power amp output. The P1 is looking for line level voltage, not a power amp output. You would more than likely "blow it up" and damage your power amp as well. |
Question: | I'd love to know how you're getting 6,000w of power from a standard 120v socket? Even pulling 20amps you're only going to pull ~2,400 watts of power |
Answer: | You would definitely come from the aux mix from your board. It takes a line level signal and not an amplified signal from an amp. If you neeed to call me from your amp then this is not the correct rig. There are boxes that comvert powered signal to headphone level. But DO NOT do it with this Behringer. Hope this helps. |
Question: | What are all the faults that can trigger the protection circuit? On the (NIX-6000IB) Please tell me all the faults that can trigger it thanks |
Answer: | You have to have a separate aux for each vocalist from from your mixer. |
Question: | How many watts at 4 ohm in bridge |
Answer: | It only comes with the power cable. Any audio cables you would need to purchase. |
