  3. Chromatic Tuning:

    • Peterson tuners are chromatic, which means they can tune to all 12 notes in the chromatic scale, making them suitable for a wide range of instruments, including guitars, bass guitars, violins, and more.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this have a microphone to tune acoustics? If so does it work while plugged ti to the board? Thanks
Answer: Hi Matt, This one is just for use with the 1/4" input with a cable, it doesn't have an onboard microphone. Peterson does do a clip-on tuner for acoustics, the StroboClip HD, if you want something more geared towards an acoustic guitar use. Brian Meader Sales Manager The Guitar Sanctuary
Question: Would this tuner work well for an electric dobro?i
Answer: I don't see why it wouldn't. I am loving this thing.
Question: Does it have “always on” mode for playing with a pedal steel
Answer: Buffered Bypass / Monitor Mode ( Default ) In this position, the output is driven exactly as in Buffered Bypass Mode but the tuner display remains active when un-muted to monitor tuning while playing.
Question: Will this work with a 5 string bass
Answer: Yes, the StroboStomp HD has several tuning modes, including those for bass and can handle a Low B string with no issues. Brian Meader Sales Manager The Guitar Sanctuary

Product features

StroboStomp HD

The StroboStomp HD boasts a high-definition, LCD screen that incorporates a variable color LED backlight. The user-selectable colors can be used to personalize the tuner or to increase display viewing quality in different levels of ambient lighting depending on the usage environment. The vibrant screen colors can also be assigned to stock or user presets to significantly reduce menu navigation time and increase on-stage tuning confidence at the gig.

Pure Buffer Mode Operation

Does your love for effect-driven musical chaos require a massive pedal board? Need that XL cable for jumping off the stack during your face melting solo? No problem!

The StroboStomp HD features a PURE buffer mode to preserve the sonic clarity of your axe while enabling you to run a collection of pedals and long cable lengths without compromise.

100% Pop-less True Bypass

We've redesigned and greatly improved the way incoming signal was handled in true-bypass mode to deliver a perfectly silent experience when muting your signal.

A dual relay circuit effectively bleeds out any incoming signal before powering the tuner down resulting in a silent transition without affecting tone quality.

Easy To Read Display

The multi-color display on the StroboStomp HD is easy to see - even in direct sunlight! The strobe image and note name appear monochromatic in direct sunlight making it very easy to view what is going on with your tuning when playing outdoors.

Tune confidently with the largest strobe and note name pattern ever designed into a pedal tuner.

Sweetened Tunings

Sweetened Tunings are exclusive presets are instrument specific - optimized tunings - that are designed to compensate for an instrument's shortcomings to help increase its playability across a broader range of notes. Brighter and cleaner tones can be achieved using these proprietary Sweetened presets that are currently available for over 135 instrument types in the StroboStomp HD. Use our presets or create your own via Peterson Connect (visit our website) and load them in via the USB port.

We All See Color Differently

The LCD display on the StroboStomp HD is easy to see in bright lighting conditions but the LED backlight color is user-adjustable to suit your particular viewing preference. Globally change the display color for all functions or choose to associate colors with specific tunings for easy and quick identification at the gig. Create custom colors on Peterson Connect™ or use any of the 10 preset colors to organize your preset tuning list.

User questions & answers

Question: Which is more accurate: hardwiring the instrument to the tuner or using the tuner's built in microphone
Answer: Hard wiring (plugging in to onboard electronics/pickups) is always more accurate to actual instrument in tune as it eliminates or greatly minimizes ambient sound transmission . . . reasoning is that most acoustic guitar pickups are based on transmission of pressure/vibration through the bridge piezo element pickup most directly via the plucking of the strings with ambient sound having minimal effect on the signal, whereas the microphone pickup has the coloration of ambient more predominant In My Humble Opinion . . . The purer the input to the tuner signal, the more accurate to reading for tuning . . . I tune by contact or wired 100% of the time (I own both this tuner and the Peterson Strobo-Clip which due to design will not work with all my instruments - scalloped edges on Ovation head stocks). I hope this helps . . .
Question: Are replacement battery packs available? I can solder and I don't like the idea of a non-replaceable battery pack
Answer: I checked my tuner. The battery packs plug into the tuner with a small plastic plug. It is sort of like what is used on a small R/C car.
Question: Why does the price fluctuate so much? It was at least $25 cheaper two weeks ago
Answer: Wifie's mercedes payment is due in 2 weeks.
Question: the description says with optional metronome. does it come with the metronome or do you have to buy it
Answer: Here's the deal on the metronome: The metronome is a software-enabled feature that you have to buy from Peterson's website. It's about $40. So, the metronome exists inside of this piece of hardware, but it's not accessible unless you pay the $40.

User questions & answers

Question: How well does this work for a bass guitar? I've got a Snark that doesn't register well on my Fender Jazz bass
Answer: No. I verified with the manufacturer it can only produce a single rhythm at a time.
Question: How can this work with any guitar case? It wouldn’t sit in there safely whatsoever. Very impractical
Answer: After you power the device on, press the mode button so you are in "Pitch" mode. I believe the default pitch you will get is an A at 440. You can use that pitch to tune your cello - just tune the A-string to that pitch. If it doesn't come up with a A, you can turn the wheel and as you do, it changes the pitch. You can turn it to each pitch of the 4 cellos strings, A, D, G & C. Just make sure you don't tune to a sharp or flat, just the straight pitch.
Question: Could i use this for intonation
Answer: If your question is related to operating power, it requires 2 AAA batteries. Without modification, there is no capability to apply external power.
Question: If I change the pitch to 432Hz, will it reset to 440Hz if I turn it off and back on
Answer: There is no fan. It is the same exact size as the SB6121/SB6141. Just that it is white. It runs luke warm, not really even hot.

Question: Does it offer a just intonation setting under the additional temperament presets
Answer: Yes, the tuner will remember all settings (including 432Hz) each time it is turned on/off. Settings will reset to their factory state when the battery is replaced.
Question: Could this tune down to 432 instead of
Answer: Hey Jim, congrats on picking up the cello! The UberTuner does indeed attach to the bridge, and the bright/large screen is very easy to see from playing distance. It handles the fundamental and harmonics without a hitch. I am one of the founders of KLIQ so hopefully some other cello players can chime in with their personal feedback. Cheers!
Question: there are 8 different temperaments listed on this tuner - but not equal temperament - which temperament is used for tuning the piano
Answer: I just did this myself. Hold the mode (middle) button in for 2 seconds, and the 440 will flash. Then press the A4 (lower) button several times to scroll through the Hz, from 430-450. I love this tuner! My instrument sounds better than ever, over several octaves!
Question: Has anyone had any success with using this device to tune a piano
Answer: The MetroPitch has a built-in mic which will detect the notes you sing, and show you whether you're flat, sharp, or in tune. Like all other tuners of this kind, it works a lot better with longer sustained notes versus staccato singing. I hope that helps.

Question: Can this be used to tune a tenor saxophone

The ST-2 replaces the SN-2, the ST-8 replaces the SN-8, etc. They do still show the originals on their website. However, Snark doesn't show the SN1X, SN5X, or SN6X on their website any longer. I assume they are discontinued.

Answer: On my semi-hollow body Ibanez ASB180 it works just fine. Very accurate for a clip on tuner!
Question: How well does this work with a bass guitar
Answer: not familiar with the Pitch Clip , but bought this and was not satisfied...a little too difficult to fine tune...bounced back and forth...(flat/sharp)...better with tried and true old school clip on tuners...Fender etc.
Question: What is the difference between this and the Pitchclip
Answer: It could be used for voice. It's a very sensitive tuner. I love Neil Young's voice, but if you have a NY type voice then I don't believe it will help you.

The Sledgehammer Pro provides ultra-precise tuning with an accuracy of +/- 0.1 cents, making it one of the most reliable clip-on tuners ever produced! The beautiful three dimensional display offers unparalleled visibility, allowing you to tune confidently in any situation. Its tubular body has a shuttle switch that's simple to use and allows you to easily operate the tuner with just one hand, even while performing. Offering both extreme accuracy and a unique, highly visible display, the Sledgehammer Pro is the ideal clip-on tuner for professional guitarists and bassists.

Since it was founded in 1963, Korg's goal has been to create new experiences in music and performance. Korg is resolved to continue to create innovative and uncompromising instruments and accessories which maintain the high quality that inspires professional artists and creators, and yet are approachable enough for anyone to play.

A Clip Mechanism that Provides Strong Holding Power as well as Flexibility

The clip is designed to make the connection with your instrument as efficient as possible, ensuring a firm grasp. The Sledgehammer Pro firmly adheres to a variety of guitar and bass headstocks. Even if you move around actively while performing, there's no danger that vibration or weight will cause the tuner to shift.

Ultra-Precise Clip-On Tuner

The double mechanism of a movable arm and ball joint simultaneously provide both durability and a free range of angle settings. Players have the flexibility to position the tuner wherever they need, and the confidence that it will stay in that position.

3D Visual Meter Provides Revolutionary Visibility

The Sledgehammer Pro’s unique 3D visual meter display, originally developed for the Pitchblack Pro, provides unparalleled brightness making it easier to take advantage of the Sledgehammer Pro’s precise tuning.

Ultra-High Tuning Accuracy of ±0.1 cents

Designed with the professional user in mind, Korg’s Sledgehammer Pro offers extremely accurate tuning with a detection range of ±0.1 cents, a level of precision that is uncommon of clip-on tuners. With the Sledgehammer Pro, players of all styles can now enjoy the same ultra-high precision offered in Korg’s flagship tuner, the Pitchblack Pro.

Easily Operated Shuttle Switch

With its high-impact tubular design, the Sledgehammer Pro features a significant change in operability compared to previous clip-on tuners. Since a shuttle switch is provided on both sides, you can easily operate the tuner with one hand while playing a string with the other, just like you would when turning a tuning peg. By simply by turning the switch slightly up or down you can turn the power on/off, switch modes, and adjust the calibration smoothly with just one hand.

Korg TM60BK Tuner and Metronome Combo with Clip on Microphone (Black)

Korg

Based on 1 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The Korg TM series which lets you use a tuner and metronome simultaneously, has been revamped. The TM-60 is the newest model and features a larger display that can show the tuner and metronome simultaneously. The battery life has also been dramatically improved. With the all-new TM-60, you’ll be able to enjoy pitch training and rhythm training without having to switch functions or be concerned with battery life.

Convenient and Easy to Use

Tuning and rhythm training are indispensable for brass band or orchestral practice. In addition to letting you use the tuner and metronome simultaneously, the TM-60 features a display that’s approximately 1.3 times larger than the previous model, allowing easy viewing even when the unit is placed on your music stand, and also allowing the tuner and metronome functions to both be viewed simultaneously. You’ll be able to use practicing techniques that are idiomatic to orchestral instruments, while varying the tone in time with the tempo, or checking the pitch of chords while using the metronome.

Excellent Response Meter

Korg's proprietary technology accurately detects the pitch without any time lag. The pitch drift that is prone to occur during long tones played on a wind instrument can be detected before it happens, letting you train yourself to produce unwavering tone with stable pitch.

Wide Detection Range

The TM-60 can detect note names and pitches for a variety of orchestral and other instruments. The range from C1 to C8 can easily be detected. Even acoustic instruments that are difficult to detect because their sound contains a significant amount of low-frequency energy or a large number of partials, such as guitar and ukulele, can be tuned easily and accurately. By attaching the CM-200 clip on microphone to your instrument, the vibrations can be sent directly to the tuner for more accurate tuning.

  • KORG TECHNOLOGY: High precision, simultaneous use tuner and metronome with Instant pitch detection response
  • CONVENIENT: Large, backlit LCD display, adjustable calibration and marked third intervals
  • VERSATILE: C1-C8 detection range for variety of instruments, 15 rhythm variations and 3 types of tempo settings
  • PRACTICAL: Memory backup, auto shut off and long battery life
  • PRECISE: CM-200 clip on microphone ensures accurate tuning every time

User questions & answers

Question: Do they sell the clip on part
Answer: Are you getting that speed directly connected to your modem, or via wireless? If it is via wireless, the wireless router you have COULD be the issue (not necessarily, but potentially). If those are the speeds that you're getting when hard connected to the SB6190 modem, then Comcast likely isn't providing the bandwidth they promised. You also need to know your computer's network card capabilities, which may limit the DL speeds, even when hard connected to the modem.I have this modem and I have the Comcast 150MB/s plan. I usually get DL speeds that are surprisingly over 150MB/s when hard connected to the modem. This modem can handle DL speeds much higher than 250MB, so if you're hard connected to it, the problem is likely with Comcast.
Question: will this tuner work on voice
Answer: Its definitely not true that it has "no RAM" as you can see at the link below even the older SB6183 has 128MB of DDR3 RAM (and 16MB Flash for the firmware/OS). However people are correct in saying that how much dosen't really matter since this is only a modem. Unless you are only connecting one device straight into it you're going to be using a router, so the RAM/CPU specs of it your router are far more important. This modem will not be your bottleneck at any point. If I had to guess though since its designed to support up to 1.4 Gbps downstream speeds my guess would be around 128 to 256MB of DDR3 RAM. I do know it uses the intel puma 6 chipset which is based on a 1.2Ghz atom CPU.In general though I say just go with whatever you can afford that supports the largest numbers of bonded channels so you have a more future proof modem. I decided to go with this Arris because that's the brand my small local cable co seems to always use so I feel there is a better chance of them updating the firmware of it. The Netgear CM600 would be a good choice as well since its close to the same number of bonded channels supported (24x8, vs the 32x8 of this Arris modem).https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r29783073-SB6183-Naked-SB6183-DG1670A-Latency-Shootout (the RAM chip on the mobo is 128MB of Samsung DDR3 RAM)
Question: Includes the CM-200 clip on microphone
Answer: Just off the phone with Xfinity to get this provisioned (can't do it on your own, they have to add it in via MAC address before it will work). As previously mentioned in these answers this does NOT support Gigabit speeds with Comcast/Xfinity. Gigabit requires DOCSYS 3.1, this is 3.0. It does work with the 150Mbps (what I have), 250, and 400 plans. Xfinity site says "Up to 644 Mbps" - https://mydeviceinfo.xfinity.com/device/arris-sb6190-461
Question: Can it be used for a trumpet
Answer: Yes, it comes with a 3ft. coaxial cable and a 3ft. RJ45 cable...

User questions & answers

Question: How well does this work for a bass guitar? I've got a Snark that doesn't register well on my Fender Jazz bass
Answer: I wouldn't trust it to hold anything more than a couple of pounds.
Question: How can this work with any guitar case? It wouldn’t sit in there safely whatsoever. Very impractical
Answer: Sturdy enough to hold sheet music or an instruction book or tablet.
Question: Could i use this for intonation
Answer: No
Question: If I change the pitch to 432Hz, will it reset to 440Hz if I turn it off and back on
Answer: I use it for a Mandolin, so can't say for sure, but the width of the instrument's neck at the nut should be 1-1/8" or less, and the headstock should be wider than 1-1/8". If the neck fits in the opening OK you might need to suspend a dulcimer with the strings towards the stand because the top of the body behind the neck might interfere if you suspend it with strings facing out. The height of the instrument hanger is adjustable.
