Answer:	It does stay cooler than what you would feel with other pillow, but it is also subject to the ambient temperature.

Answer:	From my experience, no. It's not plastic or that cheap replacement they found for the one used in the advertisements. This is buckwheat and is all natural. You'll put a pillow case over it anyway, so even if there is a light smell (which I haven't noticed, it will mask it anyway).

Answer:	I took some of my standard pillow cases to the tailor and had him cut them down to fit my 14" x 20" Beans 72 buckwheat pillow. It didn't cost any more than the quilted pillowcase sold for this pillow (less, I think), and it's in a fabric I prefer, and matches my other linens.

Answer:	The beauty of the pillow is you can remove some of the buckwheat to personalize the thickness of the pillow. I removed over 1-2 cups (and saved it for later use if desired), leaving a pillow with ~3.25" in thickness. Answer:	I think they should be as I see they are made of organic cotton--but no washing instructions are on the pillow itself. You would have to remove the hulls first and then wash the liner. I have not had to wash mine yet--it has stayed like new. I put a regular pillowcase over it and just tuck in the long ends. Question:	Can you recycle buckwheat Hall
Answer:	I have inadvertently thrown this pillow into the washing machine. In order to dry the buckwheat hulls after the pillow had gone through the wash and rinse cycles, I took them out of the pillow casing and spread them to dry. Once dried, they were stuffed back into the pillow. So they can be washed and reused. . If I thought they had reached the end of their usefulness, I would put them into my compost. All vegetable matter goes into that compost which eventually is added to my garden soil.

I have a queen sized bed so I use the large pillows. If you have never used a buckwheat pillow it will take about 2 nights to adjust but you will have no neck pain and you will have better sleep. These pillows don't get hot so you don't sweat and when the hulls get worn down you can buy a bag from the same company and refill as needed. To put the pillowcase on first shift most pillow buckwheat filling to one side and slide the part that is less full inside the case, then sift buckwheat filling back into the portion that’s inside the pillowcase, the rest is easy.

Answer:	I have the 14 x 20 pillow as well. I find that I can put the pillow sideways into a standard size pillow case, then tuck the remainder of the fabric down along side the pillow so that one side is under the pillow and the other side is over the pillow. It fits and covers perfectly this way.
Question:	Is the pillowcase 100% cotton
Answer:	Yes there are mad of 100% cotton. I have an addition pair of pillow case that I ordered directly from Comfy Comfy so I can rotate them when washing. I'm 72 and ComfyComfy is the only pillow I've used that doesn't hurt my neck. As a side sleeper, I mold it thiner at the end and rest my head there. Heavy but very adjustable.

Question:	I’ve seen reviews of people who have found bugs in their pillow. What is done to ensure this doesn’t happen? This is my only hang-up with buying it
Answer:	I have not seen any bugs in the pillow I purchased.
Question:	Are the buckwheat hulls grown in the USA? Also since they are organic, are they heat treated for bugs
Answer:	Yes they are US or Canada grown pending market demand. They are triple screened and heat treated.
Question:	Should I get millet or buckwheat? What is the difference in how they feel
Answer:	This is a tricky question which cannot be answered simply. Each filling material has it's advantages over the other. Buckwheat is the winner in the firmness category. Whereas millet is the winner in the smoothness and feel category when it comes to how it conforms to your neck and head. Buckwheat sleeps a little cooler since the hulls bigger allowing for more air flow. Millet provides better pressure relief. Millet Hulls also have a natural nutty like smell which might not be for everyone. When opting for the waterproof cover though this smell can barely be noticed anymore. Buckwheat hulls are also a little bit noisier which might be of concern for some people, since the hulls create noise when they rub against each other. We hope this helps you decide.

Answer:	It does make a noise but has never bothered me. The pillow does not wake me up. The noise is not loud. Also you can contour this pillow however you like. I push a hollow in so that my face and ear are not squashed.

Answer:	The buckwheat hulls that fill our pillows is grown in the western US by a cooperative of farmers. Buckwheat is a relatively minor crop in the US in comparison to corn, soybeans or wheat. Most of the buckwheat grown in the US is exported to Japan, where it is made into soba noodles. Buckwheat flour and groats are becoming more popular in American cuisine because buckwheat is high in protein and lacks gluten. To a farmer, buckwheat is a wonderful crop - not because of the grains themselves, but because the plant offers so much to the ecosystem. Buckwheat is a fast growing plant that can mature just ten weeks after being planted. Broad, heart-shaped leaves quickly unfold providing a closed canopy. Without light, any weed seeds in the soil below cannot sprout. Since buckwheat plant growth naturally keeps the weeds at bay, buckwheat crops do not need to be sprayed with herbicide.
