12 best guitar tuner metronomes
A guitar tuner metronome is a versatile accessory that combines two essential functions for musicians: tuning their instrument and maintaining proper timing during practice. This device falls under the category of instrument accessories and is particularly useful for guitarists and other musicians. Here's what you need to know about guitar tuner metronomes:
Tuning Function:
- The tuner part of the device helps guitarists tune their instruments accurately. It typically features a built-in microphone or a input jack to connect the guitar. When the musician plucks a string, the tuner detects the pitch and displays whether the string is in tune or needs adjustment.
Metronome Function:
- The metronome function provides a consistent, audible click or beat to help musicians maintain precise timing while playing. This is crucial for practicing rhythm and improving overall musicality.
Display and Feedback:
- Guitar tuner metronomes often come with a visual display, such as an LCD screen, that shows the note being played and whether it is in tune. For the metronome function, the tempo and time signature can usually be adjusted.
Tuning Modes:
- Tuner metronomes may offer different tuning modes, including chromatic tuning (for all notes), guitar mode (specifically for guitar tuning), and other instrument-specific modes.
Versatility:
- These devices are versatile and can be used by a wide range of musicians, not just guitarists. They are handy for tuning and practicing rhythm for various instruments, including bass guitars, violins, pianos, and more.
Portability:
- Many tuner metronomes are compact and portable, making them easy to carry to gigs, rehearsals, or music lessons. They can fit in a gig bag or even a pocket.
Beat Patterns:
- Some metronome functions offer various beat patterns, such as 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 6/8, and more. Musicians can choose the pattern that best suits their practice needs.
Tempo Range:
- Tuner metronomes typically have a wide range of adjustable tempos, from very slow (for practicing difficult passages) to very fast (for building speed).
Power Source:
- These devices are powered by batteries or may have an option for an AC adapter. Battery-powered units are convenient for musicians on the go.
In summary, a guitar tuner metronome is a valuable accessory for musicians, especially guitarists, who want to keep their instruments in tune and work on their timing and rhythm. It combines the functions of a tuner and a metronome in one portable device, making it a practical tool for both practice and performance.

User questions & answers
Question: | Would this work for tuning harmonica |
Answer: | I can’t swear to it but I got this tuner and the clip that attaches to the instrument. I did not attach the clip to the instrument and it still worked just fine. So it could ”hear” pitch. So I would say yes it will work for voice. |
Question: | will it tune a harp |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | Does this work for woodwind instruments, specifically a clarinet |
Answer: | I've never used it on a trumpet, but because of the clip on mic, I believe it can be. If I did play trumpet, I would probably clip it to the bell of the horn. |
Question: | What sound does this use for the beat? Can you change it |
Answer: | The MetroPitch has a built-in mic which will detect the notes you sing, and show you whether you're flat, sharp, or in tune. Like all other tuners of this kind, it works a lot better with longer sustained notes versus staccato singing. I hope that helps. |
