Mahogany/Spruce Construction

As with all of the A-Series instruments, the A8 mandolin mixes traditional tone woods with modern design concepts and electronics. The two-chamber body is routed from a solid block of mahogany and capped with a solid spruce top. The top is voiced with a unique combination of X and fan bracing that produces exceptional sound and projection even when played acoustically.

On-board RMC preamp with three-band EQ and volume.

RMC Preamp

Plugged in is where the A8 truly excels. The individual RMC saddle transducers run through an RMC preamp voiced specifically for the A8. An on-board, three-band EQ lets you dial in just the sound you're after, and as with Godin's guitars, the chambered design helps supress feedback, even at higher volumes.

Answer:	No it is not. Finish is more matte or satin perhaps. The solid spruce top one is glossy. I have both and both play very nice. Action was high on both so sanded down the bridge on both for playability.

Answer:	Hi there, I've bought this mandolin one month ago. No case provided, it arrived packed & wrapped in a carton box. Nice sound, nice construction, nice pre-amp, but a bit hard for the left hand (IMO). I a m used to very swift mandolins, so this one was a bit "slow". If you play chords, arpeggios or leave the strings vibrate leave it as it is, cause the sound is good. You should change the strings to softer ones, and also lower the bridge if you want to play fast licks and care less for the quality of sound.

Answer:	Yes, the rubber washers safety locks are included in the package.

Answer:	The two black washers shown in the picture are actually rubber and serve as 'strap locks' and they work well when applicable. However, the strap end material is so thick that there is not enough room on strap button of my guitar for both strap and lock. That said, that thick strap end isn't going anywhere (unless you're thinking of doing some acrobatics?) ! The woven edge of the strap is more comfortable than vinyl or leather where it rubs against your neck when you're not wearing a collar.

Answer:	They aren't very big, I use them on my 6 string guitar and on my sons smaller guitar.

Answer:	They do not work properly on my Taylor 656CE 12. At the 5th fret and up, okay but they do not work below that. Recently had the guitar set up and the action is quite low so I am surprised the capo could not compress below the 5th fret.
