| Answer: | The only kind of pick I've used in the last 45+ years is Fender Heavy, and I bought a big bag of them back then, so my experience is with the ones made in the late 70's. With that in mind, the Fender Heavy picks are thicker (.96mm vs .73mm), so there's that. The Dunlops have what feels like a coating similar to flat paint that gives better grip. That coating wears off in time, but I think the "better grip" still applies (somewhat, at least). It seems like the material wears differently, but I'm not sure that I've put in enough playing hours on the Dunlops to get a very good idea of how they wear over time. But what wear I have seen is very minimal with no jagged edges. I don't do many pick slides, but when I have I couldn't feel any divots in the edge of the pick. Anyway, I like the Dunlops, and have purchased a couple more dozen. I hope this helps. |

| Answer: | I like a thinnish pick with some flexibility. So, the regular Dunlop nylon style that is light grey (.60mm) is, I think, a good comparison to the Delrin 500 .46 pick (the red one). Except the Delrin 500 is just better. Much better! Great price, too....(if you ever see someone selling 500 picks for a few dollars, would you want them anyway?) you get what you pay for. |
