7 best pickup for fenders
Fender is a well-known brand in the world of electric guitars and basses, and they offer a wide range of pickups for their instruments. Pickups are a critical component of an electric guitar or bass, as they are responsible for converting the vibrations of the strings into electrical signals that can be amplified and heard through an amplifier. Here's what you need to know about Fender pickups:
Types of Pickups: Fender offers several types of pickups, including single-coil pickups and humbucking pickups. Single-coil pickups are known for their bright and clear tones, while humbuckers provide a thicker and warmer sound with reduced noise.
Custom Shop Pickups: Fender's Custom Shop offers a selection of premium pickups that are hand-wound for exceptional tone and quality. These pickups are often sought after by professional musicians for their vintage-inspired sound.
Noiseless Pickups: Fender has also developed noiseless pickups, which are designed to eliminate the hum and interference that can be associated with single-coil pickups. These pickups retain the classic single-coil sound while reducing unwanted noise.
Pickup Covers: Pickup covers are often used to protect the pickups and add a distinctive visual element to the guitar.Fender offers a variety of pickup covers in different styles and materials to match the look of your instrument.
Installation and Compatibility: When considering Fender pickups, it's essential to ensure they are compatible with your specific guitar model. Installation may require some soldering and wiring skills, so it's a good idea to consult a professional technician if you're unsure.
Tonal Characteristics: Different Fender pickups have unique tonal characteristics. For example, the Stratocaster pickups offer a classic and versatile sound, while Telecaster pickups provide a sharp and twangy tone. Jazz Bass and Precision Bass pickups cater to the needs of bass players with various tonal preferences.
Signature Pickups: Fender collaborates with renowned artists to create signature pickups tailored to their preferences. These pickups are often designed to replicate the unique tones of these artists.
Modifications: Many guitarists choose to modify their instruments by swapping out stock pickups for aftermarket options, including Fender pickups. This can significantly impact the overall sound and playability of the guitar.
Accessories: Fender also offers a range of accessories for electric guitars and basses, including pickup mounting hardware, pickup selector switches, and more.
In summary, Fender offers a diverse range of pickups and related accessories to cater to the preferences and needs of guitarists and bassists. Whether you're looking for vintage-inspired tones or modern noiseless options, Fender has a variety of pickups to choose from to enhance your instrument's sound.

User questions & answers
Question: | I just bought the 65 pick ups. how can i recognize the neck, middle and bridge pickup? do i have to updagrade the pots |
Answer: | These pickups are all wound the same, soany of them can be placed in any position without issue. As for the pots they should be installed with 250K pots which are standard on USA and Mexican Strats. Many Squires as well as many Strat lookalikes use 500K pots, which you'll want to change to 250K |
Question: | Im building a squire, because i dont have alot of money to buy a real strat, would these have any issues fitting or playing |
Answer: | I did the same thing, didnt really have any issue, it was a little bit of tight fit in the pickguard though. It still fit though without filling. |
Question: | Is the middle pup reversed wound? Thanks |
Answer: | No it is not reverse wound, that would simply make it out of phase. What I think you mean is if the middle pickup is reverse wound-reverse polarized which keep them in phase while creating a noise cancelling effect in the 2 and 4 position on a 5-way switch. The answer is no. These are Fender's "vintage" line of pickups which mean they are built like the originals. If you want a truly vintage sound, these are for you. |
Question: | Alot of reviews are claiming these are fakes/counterfeit are these genuine fender pickups |
Answer: | These are the real deal. Windings were dead on when I checked with my meter. Been in my guitar for about 3 years. I play through a 71 Twin that has been Black-faced with JBL's, you can dial up as much spank as you want with these pickups. |

User questions & answers
Question: | ive got a fender strat hss will these pickups work |
Answer: | I don't see why not, there is no electrical reason. You will only be able to use 2 of the pickups since your humbucker will tie up one slot, the remaining pickup will be a paperweight. Your only potential concern is the value of the pots (vol/tone) as most humbuckers use 500K and Fenders typically have 250K pots. Look at using a Fender Humbucker, like a Shaw or use the one that came with your Strat. |
Question: | can you install this squier stratocaster |
Answer: | I can’t speak about the squire . I installed them in a kit guitar which I built and updated with Fender tuners, pickups, trem and electronics. I did have to rout out the body cavity for the pickups and the trem to fit. The Fender pickups are wider and deeper than the cheap pickups that came with my kit. I used a dermel and took my time and I am very happy with the upgrades I installed. I hope this helps you. |
Question: | Do they include a wiring diagram |
Answer: | Yes they do. |
Question: | Is this set available in black |
Answer: | No. |
Question: | Does the left passenger fender have the antenna hole pre drilled out |
Answer: | No, both passenger and driver side do not have holes for the antenna. |
Question: | Does these fit 4x |
Answer: | They fit nice on my '88 4x4 |
Question: | Fit an 89'? It says it does on the amazon app but I've learned my lesson before. 1989 sr5 with the |
Answer: | It fits the 1989 4Runner, not pickup. 1984 to 1988 pickup and 1984 to 1989 4Runner. |
Question: | Is it just one fender or both drive and passenger |
Answer: | Mine came as a pair. |
